When the salon reached out to check on my status, I explained that I had just parked and was walking over. I completely understood when they had to cancel my appointment due to my tardiness and apologized several times. However, when I went online to rebook, I discovered that I had been blacklisted. While I fully understand that late arrivals, cancellations, and no-shows are difficult for any business, being blacklisted on a first offense seems bizarre and unfair. I would have completely understood if this were a second offense or a recurring issue, but things happen, and this was an unavoidable situation. I guess my name didn't fit with their salon aesthetic enough to give me a one-time warning as a first-time client. Unfortunately, I understand that it is still within their rights to refuse service. Just a heads up for other potential clients--be prepared to predict unforeseen delays and call well in advance--24 hours to be exact! Prefer to take my money elsewhere.

The salon is respectful of your time and does not double and or triple book their stylists so you are able to get in and out within a reasonable amount of time, receive quality service and not feel ignored or rushed. There have been times when stylists have moved on and the front desk staff made every effort to ensure I was paired with a stylist who specialized in working with curly hair. The owners have worked hard to provide an upscale and relaxed experience that is consistent. The salon is clean, calming and soothing without the threat of children / pets destroying the environment. Please be aware before booking your appointment - Salon L is not a daycare center so if you're asked to remove a disruptive situation, please understand the request - as I personally don't want to be forced to endure the pain. I was nervous when the assistant kept checking my foils and didn't know where to start with the removal of the foils - not a good sign. I didn't get my hair blown out, because I was afraid of the cost, as I'm pretty sure it's NOT included in the price of a haircut. So, when I get home, I realized my hair was butchered. The highlights were bright yellow and orange, and crooked all over my head. There were some spots with huge chunks and then other areas were the high light looked like it had slipped mid-process. I quickly contacted the scheduler, since for some reason that's the only way to reach Mackezie, and was told I probably just "need a toner and that's the main issue, as for the placement of the highlights, she feels there's no issue." The highlights were absolutely the main issue. The timing of my foils was obviously not calculated correctly, it looked like foils were quite literally slipping from my hair and taken off way too early. It looked like I had gotten it done months ago and it grew out. I don't know if it was a error because they overbooked and couldn't focus on the timing correctly, but it's a shame because it cost me over $600++, not including what I had to pay to go to another salon to have it corrected.

Trinh is very quick, seemingly implusive with her "snipping", THEN she says, "I have to check my cut." More snipping. I didn't feel Trinh was focused on my haircut, frequently responding to conversations going on with other staff. I paid $120 for a Deva cut - my hair is fine and a bit thin, so I was charged the lowest price for the Deva cut. Trinh said "my haircuts last for 4 months." I can see why. It will take 4 months for my hair to grow to a length that I like. Trinh was very nice and took a lot of time teaching me how to use Deva products and was constantly "checking the cut" but kept on snipping. In the past, I have often left with a Deva cut that was frizzy. My hair was not frizzy when I left the salon. That's the best I can say about my experience and that the shampoo assistant did a very nice job.

By luck, I was assigned to Christi who did a great job trimming away any remnants of the bad cut. She actually taught me more about hair extensions than the stylist who initially put them in. The reason I am giving four instead of five stars is because the neck cushion at the hair washing station was hard and made my neck ache. When it comes down to it though Christi did a great job and I will definitely be back.

The reviews are hilarious. A nervana on the sidewalk. They sound more like selling points than anything else. Nothing wrong with the salon at all. Full set of stars. And someone seemed to give all the good reviews big thumps up and the not- so-good reviews a thumbs down. Very deceiving. Sadly, I too was duped into believing these reviews. Granted it is small and I'm sure they are friendly to everyone, especially if it is your first time there. I found this salon online. I saw that it was small and its prices were decent although it was a bit of a drive away from me, I thought it would be worth it. I was at this place for a Brazilian Keratin Treatment. I emailed the salon prior to my visit to talk about which treatment would be best out of the ones she offered. There were many emails back and forth about it just to make sure. I was so excited. The owner reassured me that my curls would be more manageable and that the frizz would be less. I wasn't looking for a dramatic difference, just some change. We were mutually friendly with each other but one of her fellow employees was snickering in the background about how a BKT is just one step towards Japanese Straightening. Not worth it. I pretended I didn't hear her although she was loud enough. During the process, the owner seemed unsure of how to do it. As if she had gotten the instructions off the internet. She also seemed rushed for time. I actually felt guilty that the process was so lengthy for her. After it was over, I was dying to see what it would look like in 4 to 5 days. I paid for the treatment, shampoo and conditioner, and gave her a nice tip. I tried to get out as quickly as possible because they looked like they really wanted to leave. For the next 5 days, I straightened it every day whenever I saw anything but straight hair as per her instructions. I also noticed that half my hair was shorter than the other half. So I emailed her and asked if she could wash and cut my hair to fix it since it was 4 days after the treatment. She said she wouldn't wash it but they would cut it. I wasn't too bothered by that although maybe I should have been weary by the fact that she didn't want it washed. Someone else at the salon fixed it for me which was fine. After the 5 days were up, I washed my hair waiting to the results. To my dismay, I was shocked to see that the treatment did not work at all. Over $300 and absolutely no change. I emailed the owner telling her the bad news. She didn't seem so surprised. She said it just doesn't work for some hair. I asked her if I could get at least half of the cost back since whatever treatment, product, or process they used did not take. She refused. She said I could go some other treatment they offered but there was no guarantee that would work either. I asked her why we could not test it first if she thought it may not work but she had no answer. Normally I would be happy to donate to a small business, but not to a person without a sense of honesty or courtesy. Once they get payment, goodbye manners. I trusted her to tell me the truth about her uncertainty of the BKT product they used or how to do the process. She was so reassuring until it went wrong. She did a 180 and completely changed after that. I told her that I trusted her judgment and I would hope that she understood how disappointed I was with the loss of time and money and her unconcerned attitude. This hair horror story has a better ending though. The good news is that I bought a sample bottle of another BKT from a beauty store recently and along with help from two friends, we were able to do the treatment with success! Dramatic difference and no regrets! No frizz, manageable curls. Not that hard either. I just can't believe we were able to make the treatment work by following instructions on the bottle and this salon was not. I will be buying a bigger bottle now and will do it again in 3 to 4 months. The bad hair experience here was a wakeup call. Unless you know the salon well or it comes from a reputable business, do not experiment with it! Go for one that is well-known and trusted. Most salons will either guarantee their treatments will work or they will give you your money back. Salons with a guarantee policy are more interested in having customers leave happy and satisfied and bringing customers back. They will be honest and do what works for you and your hair, not want will give them a one-time deal. read more

I was referred to this salon by a friend. I admired the way her color always looked so beautiful and natural. So, I made an appointment in August of 2008. My hair was like straw, lifeless and brittle. Rita, the owner at that time greeted me upon entering the salon. I knew almost immediately I was in good hands. She listened intently to my litany of hair woes and then offered me several options to get my hair healthy and well again. There was no beating me up for making poor salon choices or over processing my hair. We agreed to put my hair back to my natural color and then over time work highlights in from from there. It wasn't long after leaving the salon that I got compliments on my hair. It is almost a year later and my hair has really been turned around thanks to all the employees at Hairs to You. It has been a process getting it healthy again. But well worth it. Paige, the new owner is awesome. She has an incredible memory and is wise beyond her years. A woman with real vision, and is really into using the best and latest hair products on the market. There is never a hard sell on products or services. Everyone in the salon treats you like family, and in turn you really feel like family. When I miss my weekly wash and blow dry I get real pissy. The prices are very reasonable and whatever your budget is, they will find a solution for you. I really cant say enough kudos about Hairs to You except it has changed my life. A woman's hair salon choice is just as important as choosing her gynecologist, that is how personal it is for me. I am happy to report in both scenarios I got it right. I can assure you that if you try Hairs to You you won't be disappointed. There is no tension for using different stylists because the entire salon works on a "team basis"... my only fear is that it is such a great salon that once word really gets out... and it will, they might not be able to fit me in... really I'm not worried, once I was in a jam and Paige extended her already 11 hour day to do my hair... need I say more ?? It has been a Godsend to me !! Oh, by the way... need a massage? Alisha the massage specialist will make you feel like you don't have a worry in the world, and they offer tanning services too... all under one roof !! read more

I moved to this area a while back and couldn't find a salon out here that I liked.... until I went to Hairs to You! I had such a great experience! Paige took the time to discuss exactly what I wanted and I was more than pleased with the results of both the hair cut and the color. It was my first time getting organic hair color put on my hair and I love it! It is so gentle and even smells good! And Paige and the rest of the staff are so down to earth and sweet.... very easy to talk to. They even gave me advice on some great products that I can use at home that cost less and still work great. They didn't try to force their products on me as lots of hair stylists do in most salons. I drive almost an hour just to get my hair done at this salon! The staff is friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is bright, modern, and very welcoming. Paige is super patient and considerate and always willing to do whatever it takes to make her customers happy before they walk out of the door. I lived in Philadelphia for two years until a recent move. While I was there Paige at Hairs To You was my regular stylist and occasionally Vaughn as well. I guess I never really appreciated what great stylists they were until I relocated. The proficiency and efficiency they demonstrate cannot be matched. Plus seeing the prices they charge back here in Atlanta, I'm wondering why Hairs To You is so cheap for stylists of their ability. I wish I could find such an inviting salon down here. The Owner/Stylist Paige voluteered her time with the "Style Me Hired" program and provided me with a tremendous cut and color. I cannot tell you how thrilled I am with my new "do".
