The only thing that I can gain from a waisted $120 is to warn people not to get an updo and makeup from this place. People are nice enough but lacking the professional finish! Had daughter's prom hair and makeup done just hours ago and had to come home and wash it off. Wrong color face, neck line foundation, raccoon eyes, less than glamour hair that need to be redone just an hour before prom. Thank goodness my daughter is a low stress girl, she washed, blended and redid it on her own. We did not want to make a scene but I was like - what the heck when I spotted her brown forehead and unblended highlighted cheeks from across the room. Upon close inspection - chunky cakey makeup - yuk! We laughed all the way home. Again what a cool kid because I would have cried. I regret the $120, more than was quoted too! Again, staff are not bad people, but not at all makeup or hair-updo specialists. Lesson learned! I'm so fussy about my fluffy red hair. I'm not saying I can do anything with it, I'm just saying I try really hard and do care. Kevin at Capriotti cares too. He's incredibly fabulous and he shares this trait with my hair when he styles it. This 6'7" grown man also cut my son's hair and could not have been a better sport about it. My son's favorite things do not include haircuts. He's not exactly easy about it. Except for Kevin. That little redheaded boy sat so still for Kevin. I've never seen anything like that. Kevin talked to him and cut. He asked him questions about cars, trains, Speedracer and kept cutting. I had tears in my eyes. And it was a great little boy cut too. I've used three stylists there officially and had two fill in. They are laid back but give you enough salon treatment so you feel some fuss. One can get skin "stuff' done, waxing, nails, too. If you're getting married, they will come in at 6 am on a Sunday and make the bride, her mother, the bridal party and even a pet dog beautiful for the big day. I was there once when the bride's bitches kept coming in to drop off champagne for the following day when the salon was working just on them. How fabulous is that? read more

I don't even do online reviews, but I'm making an exception exclusively for Gina at Capriotti. I travel internationally for work and I had a bleaching disaster in Greece that left me with a good foot or more of lifeless nasty straw for hair. It was breaking off so much I was afraid to even brush it. I needed to cut a lot of my hair off. I decided to go to Capriotti since I live a 10 minute walk away, and I chose Gina because of her Vidal Sassoon training (listed in her bio on their site). I saw Gina first in October, and she was great. She gave me a really stylish collar-bone length cut and advised me on how to care for my damaged hair until it was ready for corrective color. I was impressed enough to decide that I wanted to come see her again for color. This cut kept me going until just this week in January, when I had enough regrowth to justify color. I decided to go darker, to my natural color and just a little richer. Gina found the perfect color and product - a red fill and brunette glaze that not only fixed my color, but it completely transformed the texture of my hair. I can brush it! I can style it! My hair honestly looks amazing, which is more than I had ever thought was possible or hoped for. Gina did an utterly fantastic job. She's also got a good sense of humor and she's great at explaining what she's doing for your hair and why. I'm excited to continue to see her. This is a wonderful full service salon. I made an appointment with Colleen for a hair cut and color. This was my first time at the Salon. I was greeted by the front desk very warmly and was taken to a color table . I was given a delicious mango tea. While I waited a women in a white coat , (Teresa) came and offered me a complementary had massage. Of course, I took her up on her offer , this was the best mini massage , I ever have had. Her oils she used was a custom blend that she makes. I have never felt more relaxed. Colleen then came and took over mixing me a fabulous color. She was very informative in the whole process . When my timer went off , I was lead back to their shampoo room, where I received a scalp massage and a great shampoo. Later Colleen gave me luscious layers and made me feel pretty. While I was checking out I noticed they had an esthetician on staff (Helen) I asked if I could be squeezed in for a brow wax. They were able to . My eyebrows have never looked better. I will be back. I was told by a friend that this was a good place so I decided to walk on at about 3:50 on a saturday afternoon... no one greeted me. I walked up to the counter and was ignored by front desk attendant and a hair stylist who were engaged in a personal conversation. When the attendant finally looked at me (but didnt say anything it was weird) I told her I wanted a haircut then she says, "sorry we are closed." Then why didn;t you say anything while I was standing there like an idiot? That one insipid case of bad customer service will keep me from going back. If I wanted treatment like that I would go to supercuts where at 15 a pop Id expect it. read more

Let me start off by saying that this is not my normal salon. I have been religiously going to someone in Jenkintown for years who now has a successful wedding business so she is not always available on the weekends, especially during high wedding season. I decided that I would give Capriotti a try since it is so close and I had friends visiting from out of town so I did not want to drag them a half an hour away to get all of our hair done when there was a salon around the corner that could probably blow dry/curl decently. I called them about a week and a half in advance to make some appointments. It was an easy process and they got us in. I told the receptionist that I wanted a blow dry and for the hair stylist to curl my hair and asked what their pricing was. She told me that a blow dry and style is $35. OH GREAT! How cheap?! I was excited to hear this, thinking that if they did a great job, I would continue going there to get my hair done for events. Once we got there, everything was great. The shampoo included a fantastic head massage. I could have sat in that chair for an hour! Sarah was my stylist and she did an awesome job - especially while I was trying to sort out venue issues that we were having for that night due to the weather. She did exactly what I asked her to and my hair stayed in great loose curls the entire night (4:00 pm through 2:00 am). As we were paying, the receptionist told us that it was $45 each. Okay - sure, I did think $35 was out-of-the-usual cheap when she told me over the phone, but I absolutely told her that I was getting my hair curled so she should have informed me that there was a $10 charge for this. The extra money wasn't a big deal. When I get mine done at my salon it is usually $50, so even the $45 is still cheaper. My problem was that when my friend (who had her hair blow dried and straightened with the flat iron) was also charged $45 and asking about it, she receptionist told her that it was a "high-end main line salon" with complete attitude so that is what you should expect. I explained that when I called, I did say I was going to have a blow dry AND curl and was still not informed of this and she went on to tell me that I talked to her and I should have expected that. I was appalled at the attitude that came from the receptionist. My stylist Sarah was great, and it was less expensive than my salon. Up to that point, I was happy and thinking about how I would DEFINITELY go back there to have my hair done for an event but after the way the receptionist treated us, I will probably just make the trek to my normal salon, or just find another place around Narberth that will not treat their customers in that manner. I just got my haircut and colored at Capriotti's and I loved it! It is such a beautiful and relaxing salon and everyone there is so accommodating and friendly! Tracy is super nice and her staff is great! They really take their time in making sure you're well taken cared of-- from the initial consult to the hair wash (the head massage was heavenly!) to the cut and color. I have been to a lot of salons, and a lot of hair dressers, and Capriotti salon is by far the best and Colleen is the best I have ever had do my hair! Everyone is really friendly, including the clientele! Colleen is absolutely amazing!!! She does exactly what I ask her to do, and helps me to make decisions about my hair (I completely trust her opinion!) I have gotten more compliments on my hair than I ever have! I was absolutely guaranteed that the Brazilian Keratin Straightening Treatment would work for my very curly hair and when it didn't, I called and had to play phone tag for a resolution with a stylist who's schedule seemed to be the opposite of mine (not anybody's fault). However what really frustrated me was that I ultimately had to KEEP calling until I was completely out $400 because I guess the "statute of limitations" had run out and the owner could "no longer do anything for" my hair because the product had supposedly "already left my hair". So the stylist (Carissa) said she would pursue it (she didn't) and the receptionist (Tracy) was EXTREMELY rude. She interrupted me and basically yelled at me for not coming in sooner even though I explained the scheduling conflicts and implied it was totally my fault and I was being insensitive to the stylist's busy schedule. I guess really- why WOULD they chase me down to fix a problem they caused when they serve the Main Line and have a steady stream of customers who can easily throw money away? I had to save for this over promised under delivered service (as well as under quoted I might add during the consultation where she barely touched and didn't even have my hair taken out of the pony tail) and I am a single mom and I will never EVER go to this salon again. I am so happy to hear that Theresa is setting up shop here. Theresa is a very well versed woman. Not only is she skilled in reflexology techniques, which has helped me get off anxiety meds, but she also incorporates aromatherapy with her own unique oil blends through DoTerra. But what I mostly loved about her, was her life coaching. I know, I know...life coaching. Why a life coach and not a therapist? Because when you can not get out of bed to go see a therapist, Theresa was there on the phone with me, skyping me and making sure every day got better. A little back story, I lost my mother to cancer and my husband of nine years told me after her funeral he fell in love with another man...so I drank a lot and got behind a wheel and I got a DUI. This all happened within a week, I lost my job and my will to live. Theresa was a no holds bar coach who got me to where I needed to be when I thought I had no one. It has been over a year and I am now in a successful career, got early release from y probation because I completed all my court mandated assignments ( Theresa really pushed me to get it all done in the first month after being sentenced... I am so glad she did), and have lost all the weight and some that I put on while my mom was on hospice. I am living my best life, manifesting my dreams into reality, because of Theresa. If you are even debating the use of a life coach, talk to her. I even told her to give out my email. I can tell you so much more. She really is the gift I needed to get my life trajectory on the up and up. Kudos Capriotti for adding this one to the team!! read more

I liked the whole experience from shampoo with Kenyetta to the cut and blow dry, they are great at what they do. Scheduled an appointment with Gina because I wanted my haircut and blown out for a Christmas party. The person who signed me up for my apt said that Gina would be there for my apt on the phone. Next thing I know they are calling me the day before my apt and they tell me Gina is never in on the day I requested (Wednesday's) and that I'll be with a different stylist. I was frustrated but said that I would still like the apt (having no choice with the party that night and them telling me last minute). Turns out the stylist they gave me instead was $20 more for a cut and he did a terrible job. He hardly cut anything when I said I wanted 4 inches cut off and blew my hair out really crappy. I felt rushed and unimportant the entire time. He never even asked if I liked my hair when he was finished. Why did I pay $85 for poor service, to go home looking like I never got a haircut in the first place and to straighten my hair myself for the party?? Not going back here. read more

Diane gives really nice kids haircuts. She's great with children. It is $26 a pop, but I decided it was worth it to establish a good style. When it is just a maintenance cut, I'll go cheaper. She's very talented and keeps the kids calm and having fun. read more
