Fun little store to walk-through a lot of independent artists making their craft and sell it. The…read moreowners were very lovely people and ironically enough they were from the area we were from in California but has been out here since 89. They were super nice and showed us all the cool artwork that were there we were there and then we end up coming back to pick up some of the luminescent fishes and some sweets as well. A lot to look at and so many things for everyone. I love that they had a little bird whistle that sing as well when you add water.

The shop has so much to offer you really don't need to go anywhere else. Souvenirs, local coffees and candies all in the same place. James Souvenirs Shop is literally less than a 10 minute walk from where the ships dock. As I was checking in to Yelp, James pointed out the sign I missed and gave me a discount for the check in. My only regret is that I never found this shop before!

My daughter fell in love with one of the interesting painted key boxes they had which makes a much better souvenir, than a Señor Frog t-shirt and well worth the extra cost. Definitely worth the stop and was glad to stumble upon Age.

Caribbean Stone Art opened in January 2015 so we were lucky to visit during the first few weeks of operation. They sell beautiful, stone-carved artwork. Most of the sculptures are related to sea life: turtles, starfish, mermaids, sea horses, etc. They range in size from hand-held to the size of a mid to small dog. Prices obviously vary as well. You may be able to negotiate. We had a chance to meet the artists and learned about the processes. All pieces start as a hunk of stone. Hours of craftsmanship and work go into each piece. Stay away from this place as about 90% of the stuff they sell comes from other countries like china, peru, guatemala nothing genuinely made "puerto rican artisans". An example is the small surfboards that you give away as souvenirs i picked one up and the price tag which was $25.00 was covering a partiallt removed "made in china" sticker. I made a comment about it to my girlfriend and immediately the older lady with short white hair at the counter got defensive and began hurling insults at me, another store employee also began doing the same. I walked out and another employee followed me again hurling insults. Half a block away there was another humble looking shop selling the same souvenir's and the supposedly "artisan made crafts" at nearly half price or cheaper. The surfboard that was supposedly artisan made was available at this shop for $15 and they did not attempt to hide the "made in china" label and were very upfront about it. They made a great recomendation that if you want true artisan made souvenir's either walk the "paseo de la princesa" just before the "el morro" park or visit the town of "san sebastian" in the center of the island on fridays there you will find awesome souvenir's made by local artisan's. Looking through the web i've found many complaints about "the haitian gallery" if i would have known about how rude and combative the staff would be i would not have gone in the first place. Stay away from this place overpriced, fraudulant and low class management and equally if not even lower class employees. Who in their right mind would follow someone half a block hurling insults at a person for stating a simple and obvious truth.... read more

I had the tandoori chicken which was cut into smaller pieces and again very bland. My friends took advantage of the samosas, the saag, the chicken tikka, and the rices. All of the accompaniments were provided as well. I especially liked the naan-bread and the raita. The rice was cooked perfectly and really enjoyed it. The buffet also included desserts. The host was very generous and letting us stay well beyond the midday closing. I was not permitted to use my entertainment discount because the buffet was already a discount.

I find her linens to be a little too "busy" sometimes for my taste, but that might be as a result of my more tailored preferences. If you are in Old San Juan, make this a stop. It is a lovely, unique little boutique.
