A surprising find for sure! The thought of a Haitian gift shop in PR may seem odd at first, but after entering it made sense. This store is a celebration of all arts from the Caribbean, snd I'm glad I stopped by. Souvenirs from every price point are on offer, with an amazing selection of hand made masks, wood carvings, and glass. While I initially had no real intention of buying anything, I couldn't help but leave with a hand carved wood sculpture and a beautiful painted glass bowl. As of right now they're gifts, but I may just keep them lol The staff is friendly and helpful, but not obtrusive. And the shop itself is spotless. Will definitely return. No pics as they ask that none be taken. Shame on you if you did anyway. read more

This was my first time in San Juan and we came over to Old San Juan by suggestion of a friend. We walked around and saw the sites. There were a lot of souvenir stores around but I was looking for something authentic done by local artists. At first you wouldn't think that the Haitian Gallery would be a place to find Puerto Rico art but it is. It actually has a spectacular collection of different things that aren't just tacky souvenirs. When you first walk in, you'll see all your little souvenir knick knacks. They have key chains and magnets for those looking for something to bring back with them. As you walk further back, you'll see the painted art on the walls and the veijigantes (Puerto Rican masks) that artists have put together. You'll see a lot of these around, but the ones here are true works of art. They have beautiful detail and are sturdy meant to be included in an art collection. They are pricey but well worth it. They will be the center piece of your house. On the second floor, you'll find a lot of Haitian paintings by Haitian artists. Many of them modern but some were very traditional. I got the impression that a lot of people skipped this floor. Although I'm not an expert in art, I am confident that there are spectacular pieces here that could sell for a pretty penny but are overlooked. They will offer to send you your items if you buy something large or difficult to take back but they will also offer to pack something tight and break proof if you decide to hand carry. You can pay in cash or credit card. You can also talk to them about reducing your price if you bought something pricey or you bought a lot of things. Love this store and personally think it's the best place to get quality local goods. read more

It's one of my favorite little tiendas in Old San Juan. They have a lot of the same items as everywhere but also some very unique art from Haiti and also local PR artists. Colorful and fun just like the island. They were super friendly and welcoming. read more

This beautiful store is located in a very central location in Old San Juan - and is therefore, very easy to find. The artwork displayed in this shop is amazing. It has everything from pictures to sculptures. The wood sculptures really stand out, as they are unique and pleasing to the eyes. They have items in the store suited to anyone's budget. The store is fairly large compared to other local tourist shops, so make sure you spend some time looking around. This was the only arts store in old San Juan that I found to be intriguing. The crafts are so interesting and exotic. I found it easy to get souvenirs for friends and fun things for myself too. A lot of things are Puerto Rico themed. Jewelry wallets painted feathers decorations glass dolls little froggies and skulls and painted plates and handmade bags and SO on and so forth. Its in the middle of the old San Juan center so it's easy to find. read more

They have items that you all find elsewhere, but they gave many many things that I only found there. Their collection is wonderful. A required stop if you are in the area. This is a GREAT STORE. They have authentic unique quality inventory. The review from Jose, with a 1 star, is a blatant LIE !! He is obviously not knowledgeable, have an eye sight problem, and perhaps did not like the staff and trying to sabotage their business with false information. I purchased numerous pieces there and extremely satisfied. I bought so much I had to have items shipped. they were packed professionally and delivered with no damages. The thing I like about this particular souvenir store in San Juan is the fact they have different unique art that they've actually done themselves which sets them apart from other souvenir shops in the area. These guys have some unique products. But all their products are at least 5 to 10 $ costlier than the rest of the stores. Check the entire street before making the decision. They would say they are gonna close the store at 7 or 6:30 but really i have seen it open till 9. It is just a tactic to make you decide, because the store is gonna close. read more

I visited the store while on a cruise and fell in love with a 3D butterfly wall art. The kind sales rep offered to ship to me which was great as I was worried it would get damaged on the plane. Well I got it and it had been damaged in the mail. After a quick call, insurance on the package and email with photos, they kindly send me a new one. This one is perfect and already on the wall after getting it today. Great customer service and quick problem resolution. I will definitely go back when in San Juan. read more
