Each employee at each phase of the eye exam made us feel comfortable and were great at explaining what would happen next. They were also great at answering questions and clearly enjoy their work. Had a great convo looking at the photos they took. Following the eye exam, the staff in the main room were also great. They took lots of care to explain our prescriptions and what that means, which frames we can pick from, and help to pick ones that would match face/outfit/style etc. Great experience all around. Will definitely be back.

I have had one eye exam there and my 6 year old son has had two now. This was in total my 4th or 5th time getting an eye exam, and I was so impressed with what I learned about my vision and eye health. I had never experienced such an in-depth exam before, it was very thorough. We made a few notes and will keep an 'eye' on some of the things we discovered. My new prescription is excellent, although it took more time than anticipated. That being said, they advised me that they re-did it for the second time so it was perfect. I was happy to wait a bit longer to get it right. I have developed a very close relationship with the Merivale Vision Care team over the years, after attending and supporting a number of their fundraising events. PS- they are AMAZING with kids and have a very sweet collection of children's frames :)

I really like the staff here and the place is spotless. I've seen a few different optometrists here (they try to keep you with the same one, but sometimes the optometrist no longer works there when you return), and all of them have been friendly and patient. The reception staff are also really nice and you always get a reminder call the day before your appointment. The clinic is bright and clean. They also sell glasses there. They don't have a huge selection though. They sell contact lenses too and their prices on those are very competitive. It's $165 for an eye exam, which I think is a bit higher than other places, but for the professional service and clean environment, I think it's worth it (although I do have health insurance so I get a partial reimbursement). I don't believe there is a parking lot at this location, but there is street parking. I initially chose to go here because it's walking distance from my home (so I can just put on some shades and stumble home after they dilate my pupils, and not have to rely on getting a ride), but I continued to go because of the great service.

My eyes were in bad shape. Really bad shape…read more I've been a glasses and contacts wearer for about 12 years -- which means that I've been a contacts wearer for most of the hours in those 12 years. I try to take care of my eyes, but I had just moved from Boston and I hadn't tried to find a new optometrist during all the transition, and i was wearing old contacts for far too long. My eyes were sore and basically rejected my contacts. I was dropping all the eye drops I could find and my eyes were blurry all the time. All of this is to say that Wesboro Optometic was the best place I could have gone. I should note that I went to Laurier Optical in the Rideau Center first because it was cheaper and I'm still an American resident technically. After they made me cry because they were mean, hard to understand, told me there was something seriously wrong with my eyes and I'd need to see a specialist, and gave me the worst prescription ever, I vowed to find someone else and get a second opinion. Westboro Optometric isn't far from my house, and it looked really nice and clean when I was heading by, so I made an appointment. Plus, it's one of the only places with a good website, which is helpful to get an impression of them. They charge more for an appointment ($160 vs $75), but it could not have been more worth it. The staff is very friendly and thorough, and I'm incredibly thankful for my doctor, Jason Bussey. Dr. Bussey made me feel comfortable from start to finish, and has really walked me through the process of getting my eyes better. After a very comprehensive exam, he gave me some contacts to try for a couple weeks, then I came back free of charge to test my vision with those contacts. When my eyes started to heal, he sent me off with another prescription and I came back in three more weeks to try again. My eyes were getting so much better, but I told him they were still sore, so the gave me medicated drops and a new precription. Now I'm back to a much lower strength prescription because my eyes have healed -- which is the opposite of what the Laurier Optical said would happen. They basically told me my eyes were never going to get better because I treated them bad and I might need surgery. Dr. Bussey is very kind and softspoken and you can really tell he cares about his patients. He remembered that I am from Boston, and this morning he expressed his condolences for the attacks my home witnessed last week. He just goes above and beyond and I'm really lucky to have found this clinic. Would recommend to anyone!

I had to take a few days to write this review because I really wasn't sure how I felt about this…read moreplace. After seeing a million advertisements on TV I thought I'd check this place out. It had been over a year since I had my eyes checked and they were getting really painful, so after searching for an inexpensive eye exam I decided to try this place. The eye exam centre is located in the back of the store, and the receptionist was lovely. She asked for some info, I paid the $70 and she did some basic check up stuff. I was then ushered into this massive exam room and asked some questions by the optometrist. I have to admit; I didn't really think he was that great He was polite enough and everything, but just didn't try to make me feel comfortable and wasn't friendly at all. I mentioned to him that my eyes had been really sore for several months and that I'd been getting headaches. After a quick exam he told me my prescription was the same as always, but that I had dry eyes. He then wrote me a prescription for some drops. I asked him what contacts I should be wearing and he said "I'll write you a prescription for those as well." I left the exam feeling a little pissed off that I paid $70 for something a (free) doctor could have told me. Turns out he "prescription" he wrote me for the eye drops was just an over the counter drop that I'd already been using for years. I brought the contact prescription to the front staff and they told me it would take a few days (around 3 or 4) to get my prescription lenses in. They told me they could give me some trials as well. I told them I'd think about it and they told me to pop by and get my trial contacts while they were open. This location isn't open on Sundays, which was when I needed them. I decided to try the Bayshore location and see if they stocked them. When I arrived there was only one staff member working, and they were doing a glasses fitting. Myself, and two other people had to wait until he was finished. Finally, after giving him the prescription and telling him the other store had told me to drop in, he told me that no, I could not get the trials until I had a contact lens fitting that would cost me $30 and would take several days to schedule. He said my prescription wasn't enough, even though I had just had an exam and the doctor had written down what brand I should use and my prescription. I told him the doctor said my prescription hadn't changed, but he refused to hear it. Solution? I'm sticking with ordering my contacts online. They're cheaper, take less time to get, and don't require a "fitting" every year.

Assuming everyone enters at the door speaks French as business New Look should have bilingual representatives, but this is understandable we are in Quebec and all the B.S....I am not sure if they are unpleasant with everyone or with ppl that are not white french, seriously I wanted to smack the guy who recieced me today I was speechless, for 5 minutes I forgot why I was there. This is not how you treat your customers. They have also made new changes since the fall of 2023 to the interior so that those with mobility issues are not able to be in the office even if they did have a portable ramp for the front of the store steps. This is a huge insult! In response to JM's comment. No, this is true as I was actually refused entry and my appointment cancelled due to my mobility issues. A portable, easy to lay down and lift up ramp would solve the issue. However, I was informed that this won't help as the office has changed inside so that I can't wheel about in there even if I did gain entry. There is no space, this is what I was told. JM, in response to your need for a larger space to serve everyone: And yet last year I was able to fit in the waiting area and get an exam. I don't think that your space has suddenly become smaller. And in regard to your landlord not supplying a portable, light weight, easy to carry and place on the step out front to make your store accessible: This isn't something that the landlord would need to install as it doesn't get installed and would work like moving a chair from one side of the room to another. There is no point in my continuing comments to these excuses that you are making as the bottom line is: My appointment was cancelled this year by your office due to my need for that portable ramp. I don't expect you to truly understand how bad this feels for me. After finding an optometrist last year, I now must start over due to something as simple and easy as a portable ramp.

I am not well versed in most of the stuff. We took a personal tour of the store to show me everything he had related to the one topic I said I was looking for as a gift. He's got a lot of good ideas and seems like he can also order anything he may not have at the time. Note he also runs a website which I'm pretty sure has a wishlist feature, so check this out as well! I'm really happy this store came to the mall. It's a great shopping store. He also had a cute tie-in for the kids with the mall Santa over the holidays. Nice to have the community feel back in the mall. 4 star only because I think some overall customer comforts like music and curb appeal would really do a lot to draw people in. Also the boxes along the back make me feel like they could pick up and leave at any time, but that's clearly not the case as they've been here a while now.

It is very much a store front for an online shop and much of what he carries are thins fans have already got their sights on from online reviews/previews. This works fine for those like me but my wife visited a few times looking for a gift for me only to leave empty handed because the statues and figures she was looking for were not displayed and since she didn't have anything specific she was looking for couldn't find anything.
