Needed a copy of my keys and stopped in to get three. Small wait and had them finished in a couple minutes. Tested them out when I got home and one didn't work. Only cost $5 for all three. Way better than the key machine that costs three times as much. read more

Good news is that he picked up the phone. Bad news us he said he didn't have anyone else there so he couldn't check stock. I sent someone to pick some things up as they were nearby, but he dramatically overcharged. (Four times what a fancy hardware store charges). And now I see he sold us the wrong item. We specifically asked for parts marked one size, he sold us another, (the person who picked it up didn't know better), and when I called back and said we want to return it but won't be in his neighborhood for two weeks, SURPRISE "there's a seven day limit on returns!" I agree with others; i try to shop local instead of big box stores, but guys like this are shooting them selves in the foot. read more

A fine example of the "old neighborhood" you bring back some 3.00 bolts and you the old "Oh man yo... you just opened the package we can't take it back".... Everything in this place are over priced. The convenience makes it available to get what's needed. The owner or the person in charge seems to be a nice person but his customer service not good. I purchased something less than 24 hrs and was unable to get refunded or credited with the receipt, plus him knowing that I made the purchase.Very bad for business. Customer service is the Key to getting more business. I will not give my money to this place ever again. Best to go elsewhere and get what's needed for a few dollars less, same product. read more

There are some bodega-type hardware stores in the hood to choose from, but they're disorganized and their hours are always a toss-up. So it was a relief to go into Hakimi and have a pleasant experience. Hakimi Hardware is new to the neighborhood and it's got all the essentials you need in a hardware shop, including paint selection. I ducked in because I needed keys made, and the staff was super great. Although it's not a huge store (and I recommend calling ahead for anything needed), they seem to be pretty well stocked of day to day items. The store is clean, brightly lit, and has attentive service. While my keys were being made ($1.49 each), several customers came in and were tended to right away. This will be my go-to place for the neighborhood. read more

WARNING!!! Make sure you know exactly what you need because if you open anything even a box of nails - NO REFUND/EXCHANGE. I bought a box of nails and they ended up being the wrong size. I literally didn't use a single nail and had a receipt. Because the seal was broken, I couldn't exchange them or get a refund. There's a cheaper hardware store less than a block away on 116th between 3rd and 2nd who has a reasonable return policy. Save yourself some money and the hassle and skip this hardware store. read more

If there was a negative review button that would be my choice. The worst customer service. Yesterday I went in for a refund on a wrong item and an item that I did not use. Right off the back they said they don't do refunds or exchanges. Then the cashier started saying that his boss gets mad when they do refunds. I proceeded to tell him that I don't care if his boss Ali gets upset but the items are not mentioned on the refund and exchange policy. I also told them they can not make rules as they go. He gave me a partial refund and also said that he did not care if I was upset. The so called person that was in charge which also spoke Spanish said I should've asked about their policy which is clearly on the back of the register. I said to him that I read that policy before making my purchase and you can not pick and choose what you will or will not return. How can people have a business and not take care of their customers need. They also kept saying that their boss Ali was not in and I would have to come back. I don't see this store being there for a long time. What a waste of time and lack of employees. The worst experience ever!!!! read more
