This place has a long and extensive menu. They also have a fairly priced lunch menu with many options. Highly recommend!

Lunch menu is available till 3pm M-F. Close to 20 options for $9. Very few veggie options. Comes with spring roll. Soup or substations from white rice is extra. Restaurant does check QR code for dine in. After placing order, meals came out within minutes - oddly fast. Bombay chicken was succulent, but the egg fried rice was bland. Manchurian fried rice had a nice heat to it, definitely not too spicy - barely broke a sweat. Although, the rice quality was either undercooked or really day old rice. Only giving four stars since the Manchurian rice had a nice heat to it. Probably wouldn't return to this location. read more

Typically only do takeout from here, and feel like the quality of their food has become mediocre and not on par with the other locations. Their fried rice was not flavourful at all, and portion size seems like it is less than what it used to be. I would only recommend their spicy Manchurian soup, which is still okay from a quality perspective. The service is usually good when we pick up our food. In Durham, there are quite a few Hakka Asian cuisine available so I decided to do a take-out order at this location. Here is what we ordered: Seafood Fried Rice ($12.50)- Quite a generous portion of fried rice mixed with egg, squid, imitation crab, shrimp and their sauce mix...Taste is decent, not overly salty. The fried rice grain isn't too soggy, so there is a bit of wok heat on it. Beef w/Eggplant ($13.25)- It may be mixed with their Manchurian sauce and it consist of beef slices and eggplant. Again, this dish is good portion and decent. Spicy Deep Fried Prawns ($14.75)- Not that spicy, so don't be too concerned, unless you're tolerance is low, then you may feel the heat...The size of the prawns were good size and there was probably about 10-14 pieces. Mapo Tofu ($13.25)- Not the usual style of Chinese Mapo Tofu, and this is probably our least favourite one out of the dishes. The food was pretty mediocre and they're definitely not using high quality meat. The Mongolian beef was inedible and even after telling the waitress she didn't take it off the bill. We went on a Friday, group of four and one baby. they had No straws for our drinks, no ice for our drinks. after dinner, we asked for the menu, no dessert. they add a service charge which is annoying but whatever, but the don't tell you that and we added a tip. Decided to give them a try after loving the food from the Scarborough location for so long, I got takeout during lunch. Confidently priced for the amount of food they give & the food was made very fast. But it wasn't the most fresh, the friend rice was bland and felt old. I ordered honey garlic chicken and they put it right on top of the rice due to which the sauce was absorbed by the rice making the chicken kinda blah. I wouldn't want to eat at his place because he doesn't care about food or the customer satisfaction. He actually told one customer that he doesn't get rice free so why should the customer. Thought we'd try a new place but after ordering over $100 on food and bringing it home we discovered they forgot our rice. Called to let them know (as it was on the bill) and they told us we'd have to come back and get it. I told them we're 20 minutes out and our food would be cold by then but no other option was offered (they wouldn't deliver or refund my card) so we went without. Everything was so bland!!! I really like this place and we order from here at least once a month. The prices are very good and the quality of the food is A+. You also get a 10% discount if you pay with cash, another win. We usually do takeout here, but the dining space looks nice as well. Great for families. We just went for dinner at the Ajax Hakka Legend and half way through our wontons I decided to break it in half to eat it when i noticed the pink raw chicken inside. Checked the remaining ones and every single one of them were raw, not half done. Raw. I'm beyond disgusted as we had a few already. Brought it to their attention and they had no explanation other than insisting they take care of the bill which we declined. She kept on insisting on the free meal until I firmly requested our for bill minus the raw wontons. Beyond disgusted and hoping we dont sick. Zero excuse to serve saw chicken. read more

We had an unexpectedly great experience. We ordered a lot of food. Service was very attentive. Standouts included chicken pakoras, Shanghai noodles, ginger beef and Hakka chicken 88. All reasonably priced, it came out to about $20/pp including tax and tip and we had lots of leftovers. Would definitely return! read more

Convenient location in the north, not many Asian options. Liked the scarb location and decided to try this one out. The sesame chicken was very tough and chewy and the fried rice did not taste super fresh. Chicken balls and wings were okay. Not sure if I would try the place again. I have been here two times already just to have their Manchow soup( chicken and shrimp) it's the best soup ever to have it especially during the winter time. The fish pakoras are also decent to eat and they give about 10 pieces, which is more than enough for about 4 people. I was disappointed once when my fiancé ordered a chicken and shrimp soup for take out. He got home and ended up getting a vegetarian soup. This location just opened in Ajax. I was pleasantly surprised. Large menu of many options. We ordered the mango chicken, the vegetarian hakka noodles and chciken pad Thai. All the dishes were tasty and not overly greasy, which Hakka is notorious for! The prices are fair, portions aren't massive but reasonable for the prices and filling. Very clean and nicely laid out and decorated restaurant. It was so nice in fact I changed my take out order to a dine in. My kids enjoyed the food and they are very picky. I'm a fan now. Only criticism would be to stick to the Chinese and Hakka dishes. read more

Great food and friendly service. We usually go to Fredericks restaurant either in Scarborough or Markham because the other Hakka restaurants we tried didn't live up to our expectations considering how often we enjoy this cuisine. We took a chance with this place today and it turned out to be a good decision. The flavours were on point and the best thing is that the dishes were not as greasy as the ones at Fredericks. We ordered the same dishes we normally ordered to compare: Dry Chilli Chicken $9.95, Stir Fried Green Bean $8.50, and House Special Hakka Noodle $9.75, plus 2 Steamed Rice $3.10 Our dinner for four came out to be $35.37 tax included and we still had to doggy bag the left over. I wish I could give 0 stars. We ordered the shrimp wonton - it was bland had no flavour, no salt. When I told this to the waitress she just went in the back counter and continued chatting with the other waitress and waiter. When I went to the front to tell them again, she said it's me and that I like different taste and more salt. They laughed and pointed at some wontons they were eating. I have had plenty of fried wontons in my life to know what an average one should taste like. So basically, if something doesn't good guys don't tell them because they'll just say it's your taste! When I called in to complaint the manager did not accept the mistake but was educating me on chillis. This place is a mixed bag. I've gotten take out 3 times and once the food gave everyone food poisoning. It tasted terribly old and was difficult to chew. I was not satisfied at all with the meal. The other 2 times the food was great though! It was fresh and delicious. I've dined in a few times as well and everything was good. The restaurant was surprisingly nice inside too. So many dishes to choose from and the portions are incredibly large. I have been searching for a good Hakka / Asian food restaurant in Ajax for about 18 months. The only half decent place was Asian Delight, which has since closed down. Asian Legend couldn't have opened soon enough. Rice and noodle portions are exceptional and there are so many meat options that it's impossible to try them all. It's also good for the neighbourhood, especially with the many ethnicities that live in the area. I see people of all ages eating there. Two thumbs up for sure !!!! read more

Had the $6.95 lunch special and chose the Bombay chicken with spring roll. The chicken was very tasty, spiced nicely and not too much batter. Spring roll was crispy and good too. Satisfied with the portion and found it good value. Will probably give Kings Wok down the street some take out competition as well. They will have to manage their pricing and food quality in order to compete but should be able to survive. read more

Just bought 3 lunch specials for take-out.... Came home and the fried rice tasted absolutely burnt, couldn't eat one bite. The other 2 items were fine, noodles were okay and Bombay Chicken was great. Called about the burnt fried rice and was told "There's nothing we can do." This was our first time trying Hakka Legend as there are much better options in Durham Region now.
