The Bearded Chef came to our neighborhood this evening and after looking at the menu we decided it…read morewas right up our alley for dinner! I had the grilled chicken salad which was shockingly delicious and fresh coming off a food truck. My husband had the burger and fries. The fries were well seasoned and thick. The burger was savory and delicious. The woman working at the food truck was so kind and they use a buzzer wait system so you can sit and relax knowing you'll be paged when your order is up! Definitely recommend!

Someone…read morementioned the Bearded Chef on NextDoor and it caught my eye due to the proximity from my house, and the type of food it offers. And, well, my sons both have the facial fur thing going on, so the name got my attention as well! I stopped by for lunch today with one of my sons. We decided to order the Steak Wrap, the Murphy Chorizo Burrito, and an order of loaded Hash Rounds. Our food was ready in about 5 minutes! We brought it home to eat, but I have to tell you, the tantalizing aroma of all those spices and goodness was enough to make me want to rip open my box right there in the car! This is some of THE BEST food I've had anywhere in a long time! The grilled veggies (peppers & onions) were perfect-not too hard, not too soft (although personally I prefer mine a bit softer, I think the Bearded Chef has it just right, cooked to please almost anyone. The steak in my wrap was tender. Cheese oozed out of everything! My sons burrito was equally tasty with all sorts of flavors combining to make really an ultimate burrito. The Loaded Hash Rounds are plump fried mounds of potato (handmade) with chorizo sausage, cheese and topped with lime crema. Go to the Bearded Chef website Beardedchefbrunch.com or call 904-772-5976 to check out the hours as they can vary. And then go get you some AmAziNg grub at the Bearded Chef Food Truck!

I've been hitting this pretzel truck for the last few weekends at RAM and the Atlantic Beach…read moremarket, and at this point it's officially a problem (in the best way). I've tried the s'mores pretzel, the pizza pretzel, and a classic salted pretzel with queso on the side, and honestly... no misses. The salted pretzel is soft on the inside, perfectly chewy, and that queso? Dangerous. Warm, creamy, and the perfect amount of salty to make you keep dipping until it's gone. The pizza pretzel is exactly what you want when you can't decide between carbs and pizza -- fluffy pretzel dough loaded with sauce and cheese that actually tastes balanced, not greasy. But the s'mores pretzel deserves its own shoutout. Chocolate, marshmallow, graham vibes all wrapped in a warm pretzel is unreal. Sweet, melty, and 100% worth the mess. Everything is fresh, hot, and made with care, and it's become one of those booths I actively look for every weekend. If you see this truck at a market, do yourself a favor and get in line. You won't regret it.

This listing has been long overdue for a Yelp shout out. When I used to live out on this side of…read moretown, the food trucks in front of Academy Sports would be my regular Saturday stop! Recently, I had the pleasure of judging a food truck competition here. Over 20 trucks duked it out for bragging rights. The event organizers went all out with rock climbing walls and family-fun entertainment. Food Trucks at Academy Sports deserves a dedicated Yelp page, because on Saturdays they provide the option of supporting local food trucks and trying out new types of cuisine. The trucks are always rotating and always delicious. Where is it exactly? Literally, the empty grass lot in front of Academy Sports and LA Fitness. There's no covering, so when it's hot it's hot, and when it's cold it's cold. Man up to those elements! Personally, if I see Catullo's, Fusion, Butt Hutt, Blazin Azn or Joyshtick set up, I'm definitely making the trip. However, the rotating trucks make for a fun Saturday destination!

Ever since, I discovered the food truck takeovers at the Jacksonville Landing, I've been hooked! I've always enjoyed eating from food trucks ever since my youthful years at the County Fairs & Festivals. Currently, to date, my favorite food trucks are The Happy Grill Cheese, Fusion, Kettle Corn, and now... Son of a Butcher.... FYI: I mistakenly cursed when I referenced Son of a Butcher in a quick conversation I had with a friend I invited to the food truck takeover. LOL! Moreover, there's so many food trucks at these takeovers that it is so hard to make just one decision. Most of the time, I arrive extremely hungry. Other times, I pre-select what truck I want eat from. Funny moment: My friend asked, "Well where are we going to sit to eat?" I told her, "Food trucks aren't meant for dining in; it's food on the run!"

The cole slaw is more on the tangy vinegar side and not as sweet as I'd hoped, but still tasty. The BBQ burger listed banana peppers in description, but didn't have any on there. Lots of caramelized onions that made up for it! Cheese fries are an upgrade option for $1, but I didn't receive those so not sure what type of cheese they use on them. Overall it's good. I'd probably order from them again, but would do it in person to ensure accuracy of order.

I have frequented them for breakfast many times in the past and can't believe I've never sat down for a review so this is long overdue. First of all, for breakfast this truck does it right. Grits are not just fantastic for a truck but they could give many B&M restaurants a run for their money. #GetTheGrits. Last Friday I went with a breakfast sandwich with sausage - I'm a bacon guy - but if the truck has sausage in the name, I had to do it. Let me say that this sandwich was huge - I was expecting muffin sized but this was more burger-sized. That along with a side of their grits for about $7 and you simply can't be beat. It was an excellent homemade sausage patty so the decision was a good one. For lunch today I was in a hurry so I texted my order in to avoid the wait and opted for a Plain Jane - which is a cheeseburger. Ample sized burger with an included side - I chose collards to reduce my french fry intake - $9. There are some other trucks in town - not the best - that could take a lesson here. The burger was cooked to order and had a flavorful seasoning. The collards were made with smoked turkey and that to me is always a plus. I spied upon a punch card today and at the rate I'm going, the 8 entrees for a free 1 will come very soon. Support this TRUCK Jacksonville!
