They are losing 2 stars because, this company is going through some growing pains that significantly impacted communications and scheduling on my project. Not all the delays were their fault, but I would have preferred more proactive communication from them. In hindsight, I wish I had made two changes to the contract: (1) Add specific detail about communication expectations especially regarding supply chain and scheduling delays (2) Revise final payment terms from "sign-off of permit", to "full commissioned and working system, with sign-offs from City and Power Company."

Both the output and guarantee were the best in the industry. I contacted PowerHouse Solar because they were listed as an "elite" SunPower dealer. I couldn't be more pleased with that decision. The owner, Bruce Blake and his sight manager, Garrett came to our home and evaluated our damages. They were thorough, knowledgeable and very professional in their evaluation. After getting approval by the insurance adjusters I gave them the go ahead. Approximately four weeks later they installed the new array and did an outstanding job. The installation took slightly more than one day and included the removal and recycling of the old system and installation of 21 new panels and the required rails by a team of six technicians. All team members were polite and professional and went the extra mile in terms of being helpful and efficient. They actually left the work sight cleaner than when they started! The new system is working exactly as described and should reduce our energy costs to about zero. We have built homes and remodeled over the years which is often fraught with delays and missed deadlines. NONE of that was an issue with PowerHouse Solar. If it wasn't much of a loss, I would be ok with just helping the environment but it is a huge cost. We are using less electricity now than were then (fewer people living here and we are gone from the home approx 2 months a year), and still when adding the lump sum payment due to REU annually and the payments on the remaining $18,000 owed of the $40,000, we were much better off with no solar. And to add insult to injury, the system stops working every year (which you have to monitor). Save yourself the cost and instead make a generous contribution to an environmental charity and you'll come out better financially and your donation will help the cause of saving the environment in a more effective manner.

He made excuses and said he'd get right back to me. A week later i called again and he said I would "for sure" have the bid by the next day. That was a week ago. No bid, no word. I'm moving on. If they can't figure out how to complete a bid, how in the world would they ever manage actually doing the work.
