We recently had the pleasure of working with Hayley Mechanical to redo all of our plumbing, and we couldn't be happier with the results. The owner, Henry Hayley, is deeply involved in the community and various fundraisers, and his positive reputation among his employees translates into a team that is genuinely invested in delivering excellent work. Noah and Austin spent two weeks replacing all of our PVC piping with L-type copper, which required cutting into many walls throughout the house. Both were incredibly trustworthy and professional. Austin, in particular, provided invaluable advice and innovative ideas whenever a difficult situation arose. His clever engineering work significantly increased our shower pressure; one of many feats that showcased his thorough knowledge and skills. Despite the challenging nature of the job, including Noah looking like the abominable snowman while cutting drywall in tightly packed plastic sheeting, they remained cheerful and focused on completing the work efficiently and on time. This was a massive undertaking that involved cutting numerous holes into walls and ceilings in every room where there was a water pipe, but their meticulous preparation and containment efforts kept the mess to a minimum. Throughout the project, Austin and Noah were not only professional but also personable, making the entire experience much more pleasant. Austin consistently took the time to explain what they were doing and why, which we greatly appreciated. Their dedication to ensuring everything was done correctly and to our satisfaction was evident in every aspect of their work. Austin, a third-generation plumber, expertly handled a variety of tasks, including installing and balancing recirculation lines, adding a hose bib with hot/cold water, and identifying where lines were routed behind drywall. One memorable moment was when Austin, with his quick wit and humor, managed to turn a particularly challenging day into a more bearable one with his jokes and positive attitude. These little things made a big difference and demonstrated how much they cared about their work and their clients. If you're considering a project of this size, we highly recommend Hayley Mechanical and suggest asking for Austin and Noah. Had rather unsatisfactory multiple sets of experiences with this company. Mostly due to their lack of communication for more than a year, thus responsibility NOT taken by the owner or his wife. Work was supposedly done which I promptly paid for, only to be told a few months later that the same work still needed to be done. Then a $250.00 part was installed, which was not needed, & did NOT fix the existing issue. Never the less they ran it through my credit card on file without discussing it with me first. After nearly a year & a half of my continually trying to track down the owner's wife, the issue was finally resolved between us. Now despite the fact that they mail me things from their company to solicit further business, they told us just today they are no longer willing to service our furnace/boiler needs. So apparently as long as they are able to hold onto our monies for work either NOT done, or unnecessarily completed & NOT fixed, we remained customers. However, after returning our money for said part, which they wrote on the invoice did NOT resolve anything, we are suddenly persona non grata. Unprofessional to say the least. Would NEVER recommend these people who did not operate in good faith with us, as we had with them. P.S. After 40 yrs. of living in the Chelsea area, & having built our home, I have never left a negative review for anybody else. read more

Absolutely terrible experience with Haley Mechanical. I called at 7:45am for an emergency clogged drain where we could not use ANY water in the house. I called back again at 11am because nobody had contacted us, and was told the technician would call with an ETA. At 4:30pm -- after waiting the entire day -- Haley called to tell me they would charge an additional $250 "after hours" fee because the tech wouldn't arrive until after 6pm. Completely unacceptable considering I called first thing in the morning and the delay was entirely on their end. When the technician finally arrived, the camera equipment to scope the pipe wasn't even working. The tech also seemed very inexperienced and unsure of what he was doing. Day two was even more frustrating. We were told the tech would arrive between 8am-12pm, but he didn't show up until 1pm. He barely scoped the pipe before saying they needed to dig up the line and clean it out. Then we received a quote for $5,300. Poor communication, late arrivals, broken equipment, inexperienced technicians, and outrageous pricing. I would strongly recommend avoiding Haley Mechanical. read more

We needed our 30+ year old geo-thermal system replaced and after doing much research settled on Haley Mechanical. The tops reasons were how much patience they showed with all our questions, the products they recommended, their great reviews, and they were also several thousand dollars cheaper that the other matching quote. It took about 6 weeks for the furnace to be built and delivered. They showed up exactly when they said they would and told me the job would take 2 -3 days. The installation crew was lead by Erich with assistants Chris & Dan. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. They were all extremely polite, took great pains not to damage my wood floors or walls, and the work they performed was meticulous!. Nearing the end of the second day they elected to stay and work longer rather than come back the next morning. Haley even submitted all the paperwork for me to get a rebate from DTE. I added a photo of the completed system to show what a great installation they did. If you are looking for a Geo-thermal system you would be making a mistake if you don't talk with Haley Mechanical. read more

I've been a VIP member with this company for 2 years now, and they've become my go-to for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work. They were incredibly helpful when I needed my HVAC system certified by the city for a rental permit. But where they truly exceeded my expectations was with their plumbing services. I recently decided to replace my hot water heater, expansion tank, and floor pan. Andy Cavill, a master plumber, came to my house and not only provided multiple estimates but also took the time to ask about other plumbing concerns I had. He gave expert advice and recommendations, which I really appreciated. For example, I had been using SharkBite fittings, and he explained why compression valves are a better long-term solution--since SharkBites rely solely on an O-ring for sealing. That level of expertise and honesty stood out to me. In the end, they installed my hot water heater and a Moen water leak detector, and the results were flawless. The work was top-notch, affordable, and done right. I can't recommend them enough! read more

Had Matt from Haley come out today to fix a recurring problem with my furnace/humidifier. I'm hopeful that it's finally fixed. It's a very unusual problem that no repairman has ever seen before (turning on powered humidifier shuts off furnace or trips fuse). It's taken several visits, but I'm hoping this was the last one (for that purpose). They are very good about scheduling after hours and emergency visits and prompt in calling back for emergencies. For non-emergencies, it can sometimes take some prodding since they're very busy in the winter. Everyone I've dealt with (on the phone and in person) is very friendly and personable and they don't mind my watching them and talking with them about issues (so I can learn how things work and what can go wrong). Four stars only because this (very tough) issue has taken too many call backs. I will be very relieved if it's finally solved! read more

I am a happy camper! I called on Thursday of last week and requested a plumber to fix a leak between our garbage disposer and the sink. A plumber was scheduled for the following Monday in the 8 - 10 am time slot. Monday morning came, I received a phone call from the plumber that he was on the way. Mark arrived at approximately 8:10 am. He checked over the problem, went out to get some tools and fixed the leak. It took him about 35 minutes to complete the repair. Mark was friendly and happy to carry on a conversation. He knew what he was doing and did it quickly. He waved the diagnostic charge as he found the problem to be what I had said it was. I have used Haley Mechanical since moving to Dexter about 5 years ago - HAVC service and plumbing repair. I can find no fault. Each service technician has been professional, friendly and a good representative of the company. read more

Haley Mechanical sent out a technician within two days of my call. The service technician, Hamzah, arrived on time as scheduled. He made sure to put on shoe coverings so as not to track in any debris. He went straight to work to diagnose the problems of a 55 year old furnace. His knowledge and expertise allowed him to repair the unit with out need for any expensive replacement parts. He followed up his repair to make sure the furnace was working efficiently and safely by conducting an air quality review for carbon monoxide. Hamzh's successful efforts were well worth the reasonable price paid for such quality work and safety assurance. Haley Mechanical in Dexter My daughter's central air chose the hottest day of the year so far (Father's Day) to stop working. I was calling contractors I found via google, but when Mike answered the phone and said he could meet me there in ten minutes at a rate not much above what others charge for regular hours, I said "okay". He showed up as promised, diagnosed the problem, and adjusted the fan speed control and the air conditioning started right up and is working beautifully. He said if the unit was newer, he would recommend replacing the fan speed control, but it wouldn't be worth it to put a $400 item into it. The Haley Mechanical people just left after replacing our 75 gallon water heater that also served as a boiler for our in-floor hydroponic radiant heat system. Our nightmare began on Monday when water began accumulating on our basement floor, soaking into the carpet my spouse had just put in. Haley came out immediately and told us we would have hot water for Thanksgiving--just a couple of days away. They located a replacement in Farmington (not all water heaters are designed to do both hot water and radiant heat), drove there this morning to get it, took out the old one and put in the new one--and were gone by noon today. From the initial contact with the company for an estimate to the completion of the installation of a new heating and cooling system, the Haley Mechanical team were professional, personable and efficient! The installation team of Avere, Austin and Teddy exceeded our expectations. They were polite, timely, clean and made us feel important as a customer. As far as the product, we are very pleased with our new Lennox system. It is so quiet, to the point we don't even know it is running. We have already seen a savings in our electric usage! Dave and Teddy replaced our traditional water heater/tank for a boiler + reservoir and hooked it up to floor glycol heating tubing. Highly recommend them! They were courteous and respectful of the house. Left the area completely clean, despite having to walk through a muddy construction area OUTSIDE of the home to enter and exit each day. Cleaned up and swept their area, leaving it cleaner than it was when they arrived. Piping looks great! They were communicative about what work they had, options, and what they had left to do over their 3-day project. They also performed check-out throughout the house before wrapping up. New Kohler Sterling Shower Austin & Kyle Thankfully, we decided to replace the existing shower which came with our house. The decision to have all the work done by Haley was simple. The Team that HM has assembled is so broad with experience and expertise that they tackled each and every aspect of unknown variables with ease. The replacement shower was 50 years coming and had several moving parts. Old house brand new Kohler. Not a problem here. I noticed it had been three years since the last review I had done of Haley Mechanical, and just thought I'd take a minute to update my review. Last year, in the middle of Covid, on a weekend, and after hours, I had a furnace. problem at a commercial property I own. I made one called to Haley Mechanical and someone arrived ina timely manner (OK, he did make it there before I did LOL) with the proper parts and had it up and running again in probably 30 minutes! So now I've used them for our home and our business properties and still continue to recommend them! They're not the cheapest around, but they're the best place I found! read more

From their sales rep who I am pretty sure doesn't sleep, sending me answers to questions about the quote at 11 pm, to their installation team who did everything super professionally and worked their butt off. My entire experience was amazing. I received 6 different quotes, because I am indecisive, and Haley was the only group who could do all of the work, was reasonably priced, and had more knowledge than any of the other groups, and all of the other groups were reputable, highly rated organizations. I recently bought a Historic wreck of a house (built in 1855), here in Saline, MI. Haley sent Dustin & Terry. These fellas are everything you would want from professionals to work on your home. Not only did they find a way to run new electric lines under layers of old plaster, shingles, etc., but they did the work quickly, professionally, and they were beyond a pleasure to work with.
