They originally installed my furnace but when I needed service today the owner, the same guy who sold me the furnace and installed it, refused to wear a mask in my house even after I explained to him that my wife and I are both high-risk seniors! He left without providing service and I called another company who fixed my furnace, wearing a mask, within a couple of hours of calling them. Service shouldn't be political when you own a business. And decent human beings care about their customers, not just their comfort. I do NOT recommend climate tech. They lost my business over a stupid mask. read more

I had a pretty bad encounter with Jeffery today and I feel it's important for others to know about so as not to waste your time. I had an appointment scheduled today and the window was between 11 and 3 (which is fine). He arrived at 2pm (again, fine). I opened the door wearing a mask and politely asked if he could put one on. Without skipping a beat, he said: "Oh, I don't wear them," then handed me his business card and walked away. WOW. the owner of the firm was out to give me an estimate and instead of just getting an estimate he told me about all the problems they would run into installing the unit i am not that familiar with actual installation of a unit but when i call to get an estimate i just really want to know the actual final cost of installing a unit that i can compare with the other estimates i usually get three estimates before selecting the one i am going to accept. after talking to this guy and listening to all the problems he was going to run into i told him i was really only into the final price and told him he acted like his price was going to be high because of problems with installation he left without giving me estimate but with his way of giving estimate i glad he just left read more

I called this company and they said they where reluctant to help me with my air conditioner because they didn't have any magic up their sleeves. Needles to say this was very shocking, I have had a previous company look at my AC before however I still have issues. CAUTION, there is a service charge just for coming to the door, make sure you discuss this before asking them to come over. I failed to do this. Parts from this organization are twice to three times higher than if you purchased from Repair Clinic in Canton. You need to purchase uneeded parts inorder to comply with the warranty. Guy was honest, let me know that he was overcharging, and i could have said no, but i had no where else to go, and after paying the surprise $65 service fee, i was scared i would get someone else in that did the same thing, and just loose another $65. I paid a rate of $140 for 45 minutes plus the service fee. I figured if they did the work, the service fee would be scratched, but it was not. Im sure the workmanship is fine. UPDATE 7/16/13: I found a very professional company that provided a second opinion and learned we DID NOT need a new central air unit...we simply needed a new capacitor. The charge for this repair was less than 1/10 of the cost for a new unit. Don't waste your time with Climate Tech. Call Mr. Byrd's Heating and Cooling, 313-580-3634. This company's website states they offer free second opinions to help you decide whether to repair or replace your air conditioning unit. My husband contacted the company to get a second opinion and basically, the guy didnt want to be bothered. After hearing the original diagnosis, he told my husband we would need a new unit. He then told my husband it wasn't worth his time to come on the service call when my husband expressed he didn't want to blindly replace our unit! I called the gentleman to make sure I understood the service as listed on their website. I knew the conversation wouldn't go well when I asked his name and he said "that doesn't really matter". What business person says their name doesn't matter? The conversation went down hill from there. He was rude, dismissive, and just had an awful attitude! I don't understand why they list the service to provide a second opinion. Clearly, they're only interested in this service if they're guaranteed to make a buck. read more

Jeff, the owner, took care of the problem with our furnace in a super professional manner and fixed an issue that 3- 4 other companies previously were unable to fix. Getting your furnace and/or ac worked on can be a scary experience. All the online research that I had done, left me feeling wary about trusting anyone to not take advantage of my ignorance about all things HVAC. Climate-Tech offered an email form for general service and a phone number for emergencies. I decided that my problem wasn't an emergency so I opted to try the email option. I assumed that it would take a few days before they'd contact me, considering that it was the beginning of the hot season. Jeff Bramlett called me the very next day and offered to come right out. Jeff had me up and running within an hour. He was knowledgeable without seeming condescending. He was also very personable and understanding. Climate-Tech even managed to surprise me by undercutting my best guess as to the final cost of the service. It's really nice finding a local company that you can trust. The owner didn't pull a permit when he put the furnace and water heater in, and after I had a permit pulled to inspect the job it was done incorrectly. He is charging me to have the permit pulled now and for the job. The inspector told me if he was a good contractor that he would cover the expenses of his mistakes. I thought that this company was great! They were the most affordable around and were courteous, polite and professional. They dd exactly what they said they would and showed up on time. Of course they charge a fee to come out- it's business. The other companies that I called wanted at least $100 to show up. One even wanted $189/hr. The $65 that Climate-Tech wanted to come out is a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this company. My in-laws have used them for decades and have always been happy. read more

If you're looking for really nice guys to come fix your HVAC, this is your company. If you're looking for nice guys who wont over charge and do a good job, you might want to go elsewhere. We had our furnace replaced by them...took them a week to get to us, but we were in a jam...we were happy with them but then not so happy when the furnace went out 2 months later and they charged us to come fix it. Then we used them to fix our water heater...they came to diagnose the issue ($80) then had to come back 2 days later to fix the issue and charged us the $80 service fee again...that's bad business if you ask me! Not my fault you didn't bring the right tools. Also, the technician (Jeff, the owner) left an enormous pool of water in our basement and had to ask me to provide him with buckets. For $160 JUST for coming to my house, you should bring your own buckets, Jeff. I'm done using them...super nice guys but I will take my business elsewhere from now on. read more

The only good thing about this place is that they called me back after I left a message. I believe in good business etiquette & professionalism which includes a greeting as businesses should appreciate anyone picking up the phone to call for their services. Instead what I experienced was a negative attitude and apprehension followed by numerous questions only to give me his opinion on building relationships (bad example) and finally tell me he wasn't interested!!?? Most of my properties are in Wayne County so I don't have the same contacts here in Washtenaw. But this only brought on suspicion!! I was shocked!! Maybe, he just didn't want to go to Willow Run?? No idea; all I can tell you is that I needed a simple "cleaning and check" as requested by my rental inspection and I can't explain how I was left feeling. It was very bizarre! Just had Climate Tech out to clean and inspect the furnace in our new home. The technician was friendly and efficient. He diagnosed the problem with the old, leaking integrated humidifier and gave us honest, practical advice about whether to repair, replace, or do without it. I think we'll have them out again to do an inspection and seasonal maintenance on our air conditioner in the spring. read more

I was surprised to read the negative reviews here, since I have had the best service from Climate Tech. First for a couple of maintenance calls on my furnace, and just recently they repaired my water heater. In both cases they did not try to oversell at all. I was prepared to replace the appliances since they are older, but C-T guys were sure that they would last longer and recommended just a simple solution, which worked. I called Monday morning, and a technician came out to my house that same afternoon. He knew right where to check for the problem, and had it diagnosed and fixed in about 30 minutes flat! He was very personable, and even got along with my dog. Great service, and I'll be using them again! read more

If you choose this company, you should be prepared to be treated inappropriate. We were just having a furnace clean appt. on a very old furnace. We were well aware of how old the furnace was. He badgered us to get a new one with a lecture of how old this furnace was. He was insensitive, condescending, rude, unprofessional. His appearance was unkept. We asked him to check the thermostat to hep us program it. He did and when he left it was warm out and we didn't need the furnace till the next few days later. We had no connection at all when we tried to us the furnace. When I called back, it was weekend and I could only leave a message and did not get a call back until Monday morning. We called someone else who came out and told us the wire from the thermostat had been cut. Can you imagine how we felt knowing that everything was fine until he came out and did this. The ad brags about expert knowledge, so wouldn't he know if he had cut a wire. So my question is, did he cut wire intentionally? I believe to be a good business you must be honest. Steer clear of this man and his business. read more
