I brought in over 1000 books and movies. A full suv and they offered $54 for all of them. Less then .05 cents for each. Won't pay for you time or gas and will charge over 2000% when resold. Take you business elsewhere.

Great selection of items ranging from books to music and games sales help is good at finding what you are looking for

Our mountain of books with more stacks hidden behind the ones in view, so tall they're hiding the staff member. Total offered sum: $50.

Doug(?) and I had a nice, long chat about the West Coast while he sorted through the boxes of books we'd brought in. It took over 20 minutes for him and later fellow staff member Adrian to get through our 15+ very heavy, very stuffed boxes when lovely Doug went for his lunch break. In the end, the mountain of books yielded an offered sum of $50. While glad to get rid of all the books in one fell swoop with minimal effort, I do find myself wondering if going elsewhere or bringing in a box or two at a time as opposed to an entire library's worth of them would offer better returns. Also, you get one 10% coupon good towards any single-item purchase every time you sell books to the store.

I could find books here that are out of print. And books that are only in paperback, I can find hardcover.

Every time I walk in I find new things to put on my TBR list, from local authors to unique indie books, popular reads, Christian fiction, fantasy/romance, and the most perfect kids books, she's got it all! Definitely make sure to check out the local artists she has as well! There's pottery and ceramics, mosaics, hand crafted bookmarks, wood pins, stickers, crochet plushies, and so many more unique little things. She also has the most perfect and unique bookish cards for any occasion! One small update from previous reviews - the store IS wheelchair accessible! They have a ramp next to the door they are happy to put out for anyone that may need that! Swallow Stories immediately became part of my weekly routine from the first time I visited, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Shop local, and support this amazing bookstore!!

Swallow Stories is much more than a book store - it's a community gathering place. She hosts a junk journaling event complete with typewriters from Typewriter Chicago which is such a treat! She also hosts and supports local authors which is appreciated. The selection is great and the cost reasonable.

They did have the specific children's book I was looking for, However, the customer service person was on the phone for an incredibly long time. And it was really sad when they all closed, however I was very excited when this one opened and actually grew in size. I've been here multiple times however, I finally decided to do a review on them. I gave them the two stars for several reasons. There's never enough staff here and on top of that although this is located in the very nice Oak Brook mall, they are facilities for their restrooms are absolutely appalling and disgusting. It is not only filthy, but they are so worn down and worn out. The only positive about this place is that they are constantly stocked with product and really cute trinkets and things to purchase regardless. Of course they have a little café as well, but even that needs a real facelift and renovation. Because even sitting here in the furniture is disgusting. So if you do need to buy anything, I suggest you come here you buy it and you leave and sit down somewhere else to enjoy your cup of coffee if you do that or to actually sit down and enjoy reading whatever it is, you purchased elsewhere

It's best to Google the book and see if it is selling for half price everywhere already. However, there are a lot of books that aren't normally half off so this is a great deal! A lot of the books looked brand new. I've been trying to build my child's book collection in an affordable way and this will help! From a selling perspective, know they are going to be selling them half off the listing price and they have tons of overhead costs. So I'm not surprised to hear people don't get much. I would look at it as you are helping others get a fair price for books and a good business keep employees when a lot of book stores struggle to make it.

We brought in 13 books and were hoping to get a little cash for drinks and snacks after the ride. When we arrived, we were told that because we were under 18, we could not sell the books. I understand that businesses have policies regarding minors, but what disappointed me was how the situation was handled. We tried to ask if an adult could assist us with the transaction, but we were repeatedly told no without much explanation or effort to help us understand our options. What frustrated me most was leaving empty-handed after making such a long trip. Even if the policy couldn't be changed, a little more patience, empathy, or guidance would have gone a long way. The experience felt dismissive and left a bad impression. I respect that stores have rules, but customer service matters too.
