A full bag is usually a couple bucks worth of stuff. This is the closest one to the downtown and is probably more useful for SMU students than carless Dal students. The other option is to sort your recycling so the bums can just take the whole bag and then there's no curbside mess to deal with. If you choose to sort and store, be sure to rinse well and keep the bag tight or you can expect a fruit fly explosion.

It does not , you can take all your recyclables here and drop them off, but that is it. There were a couple ladies emptying out the back of their truck, I asked if they pay here, she said no. Fortunately for me, one of the workers ask me if I knew where to take them, I said no. He was nice enough to point me to a place that was just up the street from them. As one time I was there and one of mu glass bottles were no good and he just tossed it in the trash. I asked why and he just said "no good", (guy was forign so his english wasn't very good) but non the less I was a little irratated, but I carried on and accepted my return and carried on. The hours are great, and not open on Sunday, but that's fine. But as for speed, they are in between slow and steady, they move at the "Dockyard Shuffle" pace which is irratating, but what can you do. As for them helping you carry the heavy stuff out of the car. Its almost hard, you are standing there like a fool and just waiting.

It really depends the direction from which you're coming. If you're heading up Woodlawn from Portland, it's on the far side of a building, in an upper parking lot. It'd be easy to miss. Once I arrived, it was fairly straightforward. They have a ton of parking spaces. I backed up my car to the door (it wasn't busy so that made it easier). I hopped out and waited maybe 20 seconds before someone who works there greeted me. I explained why I was there, he helped me, I left. Also: their Web site (while maybe a little outdated) is useful! Not that I even expected a recycling place to have a Web site, but they do.
