I have had Fibromyalgia for over 20 years. I'm 63 now and also experiencing degenerative issues in my spine with my neck causing problems most recently. I was unable to lift my right arm due to pain. This was due to inflammation in my neck which caused nerve pain to move down to my shoulder area. My sleep was being affected due to numbness and pain as well as everyday activities. I've tried physical therapy in the past as well as injections between the vertebrae. That method of physical therapy which is commonly referred by many doctors actually made it worse because they had me doing exercises that were not only wrong for my neck issue but also for my fibromyalgia. I have had some knee pain for many years. I was walking and hiking and using creams and pain patches. I went to "normal" physical therapy that helped but then the pain came back. I had some PRP injection in the knee followed by 3 months of physical therapy and the pain was still there and the entire leg was hurting. Luckily I read about Fascial Counterstrain and then found Halili Physical Therapy that uses this method and some other therapies to treat pain. They take several insurances including Medicare. It is a very special kind of Physical Therapy. If you have some kind of pain, you should go to this office. We are lucky to have such a place in Tucson. (This type of practice is not in every big city.) I live 80 miles away from the office and I am glad I came for treatment. I've been living with a degenerative neuromuscular disease for about a decade, using a wheelchair the last four years or so. Dr. Halili is one of the few providers I've found who I am confident understands my condition. He and his team have provided some noticeable pain relief and helped restore some function. I am very grateful for what they've done for me. He and his small group of therapists and staff work cohesively and are a laid back and approachable group. This is unbelievable. I have been a patient of Adi's for about 5 years. I moved to Sierra vista, az last year for a job. I chose to keep all my doctors in Tucson. I have had lower lumbar problems for months. I changed insurance so it costs me 20% of the bill. I was laid off in January so I don't have a lot of money for my medical. I stopped by while in Tucson to see what I could do for my pain. They did a treatment on the spot!!! I never expected that for sure. And my pain is 75% less than when I went in. I had sciatica issues for 9 mos. and had tried everything (3 different injections, active-release chiropractic, deep tissue massages, acupuncture, aquatherapy, manipulative osteopathy, lots of regular PT) before being recommended to Halili Physical Therapy by a personal trainer at the Tucson Racquet & Fitness Club. I was told, "Dr. Halili will put his hands on you, and you will get better...I don't know what or how he does it, but he is a miracle worker". Well, after 6 weeks of 1x/week visits and no homework exercises, I can honestly tell you I am feeling worlds better! Dr. Halili got me off pain meds that were ripping up my stomach, and now I take an Advil very rarely if I overdo something (mainly crouching over like I did when my problem started...I really need to stop doing that!). After not being able to sit down to even eat breakfast some days (while still on the pain med), I can do just about everything. I do notice I'm a little slower walking on upgrades, but I can hike, bike, walk, and chase after my grandchildren with the best of them. It is not completely gone, but every day I can't believe how much better I feel. I will definitely be going back to Halili PT once I'm back in Tucson! After years of being so ill I wasn't sure how I could make it anymore or drag myself to work, I found Dr. Halili. Unlike many of the doctors I had seen with fancy waiting rooms, hidden expenses, impressive facades, Dr. Halili runs an office that is just there for his clients. He's brilliant, and sees each person as an individual, does vastly different things for people who might be suffering in what seems like the same way. In truth when I go to his office, I can see I'm in the land of the most difficult cases. We all have damaged nervous systems, beyond structural issues. I've done enough work on my body to know that fixing the nervous system is more important than fixating on structure, and that a lot of physical therapy is a ridiculous waste because if you could do the exercises and repetitions, you wouldn't need to be there to begin with. Dr. Halili's treatments saved my life. We're not done yet and it's been a hard year, but he's the first person who never hurt me, and yet who did really sophisticated things that in the hands of others left me with worse problems. He's a deeply good person with a ridiculous amount of energy. Besides a PhD (which can mean nothing), he knows so many methods and techniques that most physical therapists wouldn't even consider. His range is unlimited, he's very creative in his approach, and yet totally grounded, licensed, and non-egotistical. Just confident. The rest of his practitioners seem kind, too....I think he has 1-2 others he works with, and they're serious, focused people who are well-trained by him. He also takes my insurance, which is such a relief, and there are no hidden fees, just my copay. read more
