I have come to this taekwondo place since I was like 7 years old. I have started and stopped many times (I know I am inconsistent) but I have always felt welcome everytime. Master Yoon is the most supportive and caring taekwondo master around. I have come to taekwondo with my friends since middle school and we have just followed this specific taekwondo despite their occasional location changes. Master Yoon takes care to memorize the names of each student and he tries to get to know each student personally. You can really feel the family vibes here and it really encourages me to come back. This is the best place for my children to learn! Especially in these times where our children cannot get the exercise and free play to expend their energy during school, this place definitely got my kids in a much healthier place. Grand Master Yoon and his team are very attentive and nice to the kids. They take their time to teach each kid and gives proper attention to each one. We used to go to the one across the street at the Ralph's Shopping Center and although they were also nice and friendly, the core training was not good. My son has been doing this for over a year now and he is purple belt and kicks high and punches pretty hard. Good way to burn off energy and gets kids to follow instructions. read more

I met Master Yoon when I was nine or ten years old when I lived in California with my two brothers and parents. I had done Tae Kwon Do for a year or two with a previous school until we moved. Though I had enjoyed TKD simply as a hobby before working with Master Yoon, my interest in the sport quickly grew until I was practicing three or four times a week. I was a second degree black belt by the time I was 14 and was competing in state competitions in San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Jose. Master Yoon challenged me, supported me, and trained me until I was only winning gold in both poomse and sparring in every competition I entered into. Over the four or five years I worked with him, we became incredibly close. He trained my two brothers and me, and became quite close friends with my father. When I became a sophomore in high school, we decided I would benefit from private training lessons where Master Yoon could dedicate more attention to me. Because of my class schedule, my dad dropped me off at the studio in the early afternoon before any of the other students came in. He would leave immediately after dropping me off. During these sessions, he'd begin by having me run ten quick laps around the small studio to warm up. We'd both stretch and do some quick warm up activities together. Everything always began pretty normally, similar to the larger classes I was accustomed to. But then we did some stretches that I had not done before. He would have me lay on my stomach and spread my arms out to the side of me. He would then have me reach my foot behind me to the opposite hand. I had done this stretch before but this time, he'd press up against me. I felt him press and rub his hard penis against my crotch from behind. He told me to breathe and stretch myself further. At first, I wasn't sure what was happening and I doubted myself. I thought, maybe it was an accident and it was not what I thought it was. Embarrassed but unsure of myself, I kept quiet and did what I was told. When we were done with the stretch, he went into the bathroom for a bit and after he came out, we would move on to practicing poomse and sparring...normal as usual. The second time this happened, I was no longer unsure. His penis was hard and he was pressing up against me, moving himself up and down against my public bone. Other times, we would do this same stretch but he'd place his hand on my vagina, pressing his fingers against me as he pushed my leg behind me. Sometimes, he would place his hands on my breast and move them side to side as he pretended to help me with a back-kick. He would always go into the bathroom afterwards...while I sat there disgusted and wanting so much to go home. I honestly do not remember how many times this happened but what I do remember is that I was disgusted, embarrassed, angry, and frustrated. I kept going to classes but I made up more and more excuses to miss the private sessions. I did not tell anyone until months later, I told my mother. I quit immediately after that. I loved Tae Kwon Do. More than school and more than anything I had ever been a part of in my entire life. I am 24 years old now, a 3L in law school, and haven't practiced TKD regularly in a long time. But I know one day, I will. Just not with the man who repeatedly assaulted me as a teenager.
