    Sausage & Hot pepper pizza

First time at this "winery" with 1 grapevine. Chardonnay not dry , more sweet. Ordered a sausage & hot pepper pizza. Not a fan of US pizza so this was a test. It was excellent. Nice thin homemade crust. Very clean & nice atmosphere. Excellent service

Food was good. Ordered a margarita pizza. Table Service was very attentive. It was a very low key ambiance on a very wet Sunday afternoon but super relaxing. Golf course behind the winery looked inviting. May come back some day and make a day of it!

Came here on a dreary April Saturday. My husband and I sampled with a flight and enjoyed them all. We chose a bottle of Craig to drink with some flatbread pizzas. Very cute and spacious inside, looked like they were setting up in one corner for some sort of large group or private event perhaps. There's also a small little wine shop with funny little gifts. I know I'd appreciate this place even more on a nice day when we could take our wine and food outside and eat by the lake. They have tons of picnic tables and yard out there to enjoy. We're hoping to ride our motorcycle back in the summer.

a glass of wine and cheese

A coworker had told my wife about this winery and we made the 40min trek to try it. The setting is nice, although there's so much untapped potential with the backdrop of the lake and the open lawn, that it's disappointing to have not done more with the space. The wine selection is rather small and nothing that would impress. I ordered a portobello mushroom sandwich that I believe was made with a different type of mushroom. It came with vegetable chips that were stale and looked as though they had come out of a vending machine. I'm glad we tried it because it's local, but we will not return.

What a surprising find great staff

So so glad we stopped here. Wonderful staff. Friendly and helpful. The wine is good and the flat bread pizza is amazing bbq chicken pizza with jalapeño kick to it .. really changed the taste of wine. A jewel in lake milton

Nice view and good wine. With music on the weekends, it's definitely worth the trip out.

Does the winery have a dock on the lake?

No. It's after the damn. There is no lake access from the winery itself.

You can tell they put a lot of care into both the quality of the food and the presentation. If you're looking for great BBQ with generous portions and amazing taste, this place is definitely worth a visit. The young lady working mentioned that it was their first day at Mastropietro Winery with her husband. They were both incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service was outstanding. Everyone in our group really enjoyed the food and the experience. We hope they'll be back again soon!

A Long Overdue Return to Mastropietro Winery…read more We finally made it back to Mastropietro Winery after seven years--and what a perfect day for it. It was a quiet winter afternoon, but with a surprising twist: a hot and sunny 77-degree day that felt more like early summer than mid-winter. Naturally, we took advantage of the weather and enjoyed our wine outside, soaking in the sunshine and peaceful atmosphere. I realized I'd never taken a photo in front of the iconic Mastropietro sign--so this visit felt long overdue in more ways than one. We sampled several wines during our visit, and I was really impressed. The Vidal Blanc stood out right away--off-dry, estate-grown, with just a touch of oak that gave it a subtle, elegant complexity. The Riesling was bright and delicious, and the Cabernet was smooth and easy to enjoy. But the real star for me was the Chambourcin--absolutely fantastic! If I heard correctly, it's 100% Chambourcin and estate-grown as well, which made it all the more special. Mastropietro continues to impress, and this visit reminded me why it's such a gem. Cheers to great wine, unexpected weather, and coming back to places that feel like home.

We had such a good experience the first time, we had to come back again when we were nearby. My wife prefers dry wines, I prefer sweet wines, but I'm open to all types. We both found several things we like here and were pretty surprised at the quality of the wine. We did a flight each time we went and bought bottles to go when we left both times. We don't always buy bottles unless it's something we both can enjoy together. The place had a lot of character. Someone put a lot of thought and work into the decor, design, and atmosphere of the place. It was artistic and comfortable. I always appreciate that. We chose to sit at the bar both times, but enjoyed looking around at the walls and taking a trip up the stairs for a nice overhead view of the first floor. The service was great and really is the selling point for returning. It's the number one reason that we'll go back again when we're in town. The wine tasted great, the atmosphere was nice, but it's the service that puts this place over the top. Hopefully we will always have this experience, but I do believe we had the same couple serving us both times. I'd obviously highly recommend anyone who enjoys drinking wine, going to wineries, or trying out new places.

Visited here for the first time over the Thanksgiving holiday…read more Vineyards is a bit off the beaten path, about 15 miles south of Youngstown. The Tasting Restaurant can be found down a long drive through the vineyards, passed a round-a-about and perching above the Pine Lake. It definitely has a country club vibe to it. It's a little bit of a hike from the lot to the door, so you may find it necessary to drop off your party at the door. Our party was seated on the patio. It was heated, but there are many windows that give you a great view of the lake. It was a pretty chilly spot in late November, so bring a cardigan. Service was efficient and present, but not too bothersome. A couple in our party ordered flights so that we could try a nice selection of their wines. We enjoyed the Gold Medal and Fruit Lovers flights on this occasion. I have found that at many Ohio wineries you are best off trying sweeter wines, as getting those bold, dry grapes is harder than in other parts of the country. Though I enjoyed the Berry Patch and Midnight Vines, the Pinot Noir was also impressive. Additionally, I tried the Honey Mango Jalapeno Ale. It was too many things for my palette - not my jam. For dinner I found the special stuffed pepper soup to be a hit, while the French Onion was a miss. The broth was a bit too watery and could have benefitted from a beefier au jus. The Mushroom Ravioli was a fantastic choice, particularly if you are vegetarian. While the Figgy Flatbread was good, it was a bit one note. The bread was a little thicker than I would have expected and ultimately the dish fell a little flat. I would definitely try again, but it is a bit of an adventure to get that far out of town.
