The store is always clean and tidy (though a little hectic at Christmas time) and there is always someone on the sales floor to offer help and grab a basket for you when your hands get too full! They usually have good sales on too. Today all their gift sets were 50% off the already reduced price. I picked up 2 gift sets and saved between $30-$40! BARGAIN! Love this shop!

This is The Body Shop located within Southgate Mall…read more PROs: The store always smells so nice! They are hardly ever out of stock of any items. They always have good sales, especially around Christmas. They have a customer appreciation-type card that's builds up points quickly. They recently rearranged the store and it looks nice, less cluttered. CONs: There's rarely more than 2 employees working at the same time. The employees are trained to approach customers rather quickly, maybe a little too quickly. The number of sales they have seems to indicate that their regular prices are way too high since they always seem to be selling things for much less. I've been to this location of The Body Shop a number of times over the last several years (maybe 3-4 times a year). In all honesty, I prefer to do my Body Shop shopping online and have it delivered because I usually know exactly what I want and don't need to browse. But even if I do browse, it's less of a hassle to browse online than in the store. The store, in general, is a good one. All the employees I've met have seemed nice and friendly. I've never been pressured to buy anything I didn't want. And I've been given some good advice about specific products. I also found out, on my trip today, that the old Body Shop customer card is no longer being sold and instead is going to be replaced with a new program next month. The new program is going to be free for customers, but I don't know if the benefits will be the same.

But if you go earlier or any other time, it's not so bad. I stopped by today to see if they would have anything for my little brother, and now I'm officially done my Christmas shopping. Woohoo, pat on the back for me! I know, I'm nuts. It wasn't that busy today, probably also because I went around noon hour. They had a clearance table of toys first thing when I walked in, and I was so stoked to find some really good toys for $1. Great stocking stuffers! I ended up getting my brother a really cool Disney Wall-E robot toy (no, not from the clearance, silly). I can't wait til he opens it on Christmas -- maybe he'll even let me try it out. That's probably another reason why I love Toys R Us too -- I'm still totally a kid, and I can spend hours here, playing with and looking at kids' toys. They always have a huge section of family board games, and then another for science and educational toys, books, electronic games and dvd's, bikes and outdoor sports toys, and of course the baby section. You can pretty much split the store into two halves too -- boys and girls. The girls section has dolls and is literally this big pink area. It really looks like someone just threw a bunch of Pepto everywhere. The boys section on the other hand, is full of toy cars and action figures. Of course. When it's not so busy, the service is pretty good. It's not hard to find a staff member there and ask them a question. They also have those price-checking machine thingies, where you just stick the item under it and scan the barcode for the price. Very convenient, as many items don't have the price directly on them.

When I purchased five hand soaps and six mini hand sanitizers, my cashier (Cale, who was very kind) packed my items in a black COOP fabric bag. I thought it was a nice gesture, but later I brought the bag back to the store thinking it could be recycled. When I spoke with a woman I believed to be the manager, she told me Bath & Body Works doesn't recycle bags and only uses branded bags. The way she said it made me feel doubted and dismissed, as though I had done something wrong. It wasn't until I mentioned Cale's name that my concern was even acknowledged -- yet she still didn't apologize or say she would follow up with him. A simple acknowledgment like "Thanks for bringing it back, and sorry for the confusion" would have made me feel respected. Instead, I left embarrassed and questioning why I was treated this way. I hope Bath & Body Works ensures more consistent, respectful customer service in the future.

My husband used to dread vacations back home to the U.S. because we would need an extra suitcase to bring home all the BBW stuff! And on more than one occasion we (because I stuffed his and my suitcases with heavy candles, shower and body products) would have to sit on the floor at the airport while trying to rearrange suitcases to meet the weight requirements without an additional fee - Yikes! Anyhoo, today we visited the South Edmonton Common location and they are in the process of their yearly "Yellow Sale!" Stocked up on goodies at 50-75% off! And to boot... On my receipt, I received a store survey coupon for $10 off my next $30 purchase (and it never expires!). Sweet... That means I can torture my hubby and drag him there again during the sale that runs through July! The nice thing about this location is that Future Shop is right across the street... Send your hubbies or boyfriends there and you can shop for an hour without listening to him complain that BBW is the only place you go to where you can't drink but still come out smelling like a tiki bar!
