The cave sign inside
Chandra J.

Came here after a recommendation from my hair dresser and I am glad that I did. I originally booked the package that includes an hour massage, a visit to the Salt Cave, and a Strong CBD bath. Unfortunately they had some plumbing issues, so they gave me the option to either cancel or reschedule this service. I decided to cancel, so I was not charged for this service. They have the option to fill out their required paperwork online, so I did that and didn't have to arrive until a few minutes before my appointment. The staff warmly greeted me and I was taken back to their waiting area that had a couple of massage chairs. There was relaxing and upbeat jazz playing as I waited. I was asked if I wanted wine, but couldn't have it before my massage, so I opted for the cheese and crackers instead. My massage therapist took me back to one of their massage rooms. The cave is well decorated and the lights are low and calming. The room was calm and relaxing as well; and my massage therapist, Jo, was so nice and understanding. I actually fell asleep a couple of times. I only wished that the jazz music was just a little bit lower as it was distracting at times. I was next lead to the salt cave. I was confused as I wasn't sure if I needed a robe or be fully clothed. I wasn't provided much instruction other than to take my shoes off before entering. However, the rocks inside the cave were super rough and difficult to walk on. The chairs were difficult to sit in as well. I found out later that they were recliners, but because of the material and them sitting on the uneven rocks this made the reclining process impossible. However, I was able to get in a few winks especially because of the glass of wine I was given. Overall I would come back for a massage, but not the salt cave. Also, more instructions and quieter music in the future would be great. This spot is much needed in the Fayetteville area as there are not

Going through a 3rd-party vendor (Booking.com) did not make the situation easier either. When I made my reservation, I entered in the notes that my train would not arrive until 1am, so I'd like to pay for that night and have a room available when I check in. Before getting on the train, I called the hotel to confirm my reservation and was told the room was ready and someone would be on staff during checkin. Our train ran late, so after getting our bags and an Uber, we arrived at the property closer to 3am. The front desk lady came outside to ask if I had a reservation and that I shouldn't let my ride drive off because they were fully booked. I told her I had a reservation and had called earlier. She said she did the "3pm audit" and that no one told her I'd be arriving. She said to contact the 3rd-party vendor, she couldn't help me. At this point, my Uber driver gets out of the car to ask if she could please help a daughter visiting her disabled veteran father (he knew through conversation why we were in town). The lady replied that she too was a veteran and had things to do, then spun on her heel, and went back inside. Later that morning, I contacted Booking.com to request a refund. When they tried to follow up with the Holiday Inn, the manager told them I'd still be charged for the first night and could cancel, but with a penalty fee because they were expecting me at 1am. This is untrue, or why would the front desk woman say she wasn't aware I'd be checking in at all? The man I spoke to before I got on the train knew I'd arrive after 1am, so I suspect a lack of communication. It would've been nice if they called to tell me they were releasing the room. In hindsight, I wish I had called to say the train was running late, but I was exhausted after a 9-hour train ride. When I followed up with Booking.com, I told the rep I wanted a refund as a matter of principle. The customer service rep placed me on hold, then came back on the line to tell me I'd be getting a full refund, but not until the property sends them an email giving me an "exemption" for canceling. All day, I've gotten automated emails from Holiday Inn stating I will be charged for the first night, plus a cancellation fee. I called the Holiday Inn to follow up about the mixed messages. An employee took my information, promising their manager would follow up, but all I got was another email telling me I am not getting a full refund. Once again, I called Booking.com to see why the hotel is saying one thing, but their rep said another. Their customer service agent admitted that they can only send me a partial refund since that's all Holiday Inn sent back to them; with my permission, he said he'd send me the partial amount. I did not agree to that, so I've decided to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

Nasty, funky smell throughout hotel, right next to a loud bar, very limited parking, dirty!read more
