These are great pricies and the quality of the work is beyond what they charge. Ashley gave me a massage and she targeted the areas I mentioned. She actually read what I wrote on my body assessment. I had purchased a Groupon to go to Halo Suites Day Spa because it was a really good deal. I'll have to admit that when I first pulled up to the place it did look a little iffy from the outside but this was totally no the case when I walked in. I was greeted by the nice lady at the front desk and she brought me to a very nice calming area to fill out the necessary paperwork for the massage and facial and she even brought me citruss infused water while I waited. After I filled the paperwork out I was immediately brought to a really serine back room with the sounds of the ocean playing and dim lighting. There was a nice heated massage table for me to lay on before starting my facial. The 1 hour facial was AWESOME! It included a scalp, upperbody, and facial massage; Not to mention it made my face feel so fresh and clean. Next the 1 hour massage pursued. That was wonderful. I'll have to admit that I fell asleep halfway through the massage and was a little dissappointed when I heard "Okay your massage is over", but that was to be expected. Don't judge a book by it's cover, this place is a must try! read more

If I had an frienemy, I would totally recommend they go here. I decided to take a risk and use LivingSocial for some one-hour deal. Couldn't get an appointment for months, and when it expired, she still wouldn't honor it. The rules to get people's money? Sure. Good business? Not even close. The tag line is "I will honor paid value." I think that if you sell a deal and "can't" get everyone in before the expiry date, then you need to use business ethics. Icing on the cake was that I am overly nice when dealing with business, but last time we spoke, the woman was totally rude (basically repeating that same line over and over again in an obstinate monotone. It was actually a bit creepy, and I wondered if there was something wrong with her mentally. No judgement! People with mental disabilities need love, too! They shouldn't be the face/voice of a business. But I digress. They wouldn't give me an appointment. Then, they wouldn't honor my promotion (even though I had contacted them a bunch before the due date). AND their representative probably should NOT have been working in a place that is meant to foster relaxation. Fishy practices. Bad customer service. I just PRAY that they can give one frilly heck of a massage (because their HAS to be SOMETHING positive...but I'll never know!) I guess I could go buy something with the paid value, but I think I'd rather let them keep the money and spend it on a shrink's appointment for their rep (or the owner since she made the choice to hire whoever she has answering her phones). What if they are one in the same? Yikes! I like to support businesses in my neighborhood. Unfortunately, I can't support this one in good conscience (or tell people to go here and still keep them as friends). To the owner: keep the money. At this point, it's totally not worth it. I hope it puts you a step closer to buying some marketing skills, ethics, and class as an establishment. Best of luck to you (no, really), but I'll definitely do some Buddhist chants for your would-be clientele. They'll need all the help they can get if this is normally how you do business. read more

When starting Halo Suites seems like a good place to work but over time that will change. If your a student you have some flexibility and down time to get your work done. On the other hand management is really passive aggressive & being that it is a small close work environment that factor really effects the flow. Tamika will make you feel appreciated in the beginning by being positive and offering you incentives for good performance such as "$50 bonus for making sure all therapists are fully booked each week (5 appointments a day)" but that will change fast. (Only received bonus once even though I constantly had therapist booked and busy) She makes up rules and regulations as she goes so your always tip toeing around scared she'll find something wrong with everything you do. SHE WILL NOT TAKE THE INITIATIVE AND BE A BOSS WHEN CONFUSION EXIST WITHIN THE WORK PLACE. (Such as meeting or sit downs with staff to create solutions) instead she'll let all her frustrations build up till one day she tells you "don't worry about clocking in ...it's not working out anymore , you can return my keys" NO JOB SECURITY... NO WORK/LIFE BALANCE.. she'll tell you you only have to work two Saturday's out of the month & that'll turn into every Saturday.. When she finds out she can't work certain Saturday's instead of asking you what works for you & coming up with a fair solution she'll just announce she can't work them & expect you too. Also you won't get paid at 12am or even early mornings on pay day.. there's been times when I didn't receive my check till 2-3pm & had to go on my lunch at 12 with no money. read more

What a great spa! I got a 1-hour facial and foot massage. I have had a lot of facials, and this was one of the best, not to mention one of the best values. Keyana was so gentle, but thorough. And she gave me the most amazing skin care tip to try at home - you will have to ask her yourself - but it costs only about $1.50! Tamika was the massage therapist and she was just wonderful, the perfect amount of pressure. When I was done I felt like I had had a full-body massage, with the benefit of having clean, fresh skin. The waiting area is softly lit with candles, and I was offered fruit-infused water when I arrived and before leaving - it was wonderful. The whole experience was just delightful and I can't wait to go back. I strongly recommend a trip to Halo Suites as a good-for-you, economic way to treat yourself right! read more

I had a massage this morning with Ashley, and it was fantastic! She was professional, attentive, responsive, and very nice and accommodating - I could use these same objectives about the whole place, actually! They called the day before my appointment to remind me and make sure I had directions, I was offered water when I got there, and the receptionist was very warm and welcoming, and made me feel relaxed right away. Ashley's hour long full body massage felt fantastic. The experience was great - she used hot towels on my neck and back, which felt amazing, and had me under a dreamily soft, clean fleece blanket in a cozy dark room with relaxing soft music. Ashley was very thorough and methodical; I felt like there was no muscle in my body not kneaded into submission, ha! She also listened to what my concerns were and really worked the kinks out of my shoulders, as requested. I left feeling soooo much better! I have mobility in my neck that I haven't had in months, and zero tightness or aching, which is very rare for me. The price was great, too - $65 for an hour is definitely worth driving across town for. Highly recommend Halo Suites, and especially Ashley! read more

My partner and I went to this lovely spa for the Instructional Couples Massage, a deal from Groupon. The spa just moved to a new location, on Broad Street. From the outside, it looked a little questionable, but once we entered the spa and especially the massage room, we were both very impressed. Tamika greeted us at the door and showed us where to change, and led us to some wine and cold water. There were lovely candles burning, calming music, and robes and slippers for us to wear. During our massages, Tamika was very professional and friendly, not to mention an excellent masseuse. She showed us each how to massage each other best, focusing on the back and arms as well as the neck. She was personable and patient, and clearly has a good understanding of the body, with a background in physical therapy. We were both very pleased with our instructional massages, and left feeling relaxed and excited to come back again. I'm looking forward to trying our other services, as well! read more

Myself and a few girlfriends visited this spa on the fourth of July. Between the six of us we had services that included massages, facials and hand and foot treatments. On arrival we were able to park very close by. Street parking was not an issue at all. When we arrived we were promptly greeted and given the times for our services. The ladies working the spa were professional and courteous and did not keep anyone waiting. We were given a round of complimentary mimosas before our appointments. All of us..YES all six of us were 100% pleased with the services. The facials, treatments and massages were administered as best as we could have hoped for. There is no need for the most upscale location or high end facility when given a chance to show and prove with service. The ladies at Halo definitely do what they do well. I'm not a NOLA resident but whenever I'm in town I will visit again. read more
