As we confine our adventures of trying new places, we landed here for dinner as we were in the mood for something other than the usual takeout. I ordered online and we picked everything up and brought it home. Parking can be a little tight as it's street only parking on a busy main road. Everything was ready at the estimated time. Actually, I received a text as I was getting out of my saying my order was ready. Inside was very clean. Service was quick and courteous. Very smooth process. I got the Hawaiian Burger as I was feeling like having something outside the box. Burger patty itself was very juicy, tender and slightly spiced. It came with pineapples on it, pickled jalapeños (not spicy and gave it a very good zing to it), cheese and bacon. I went with a side of fries but also got side order of their "papas" which is their homemade chips and they are absolutely phenomenal to snack on. I just had a few and resealed the bag for later. I'm giving this a thumbs up all day and recommend giving it a try if you're in the mood for something different. They have spicier options for burgers and also just plain burgers. read more

Like the Everclear anthem, I'm skeptical of those who are trying to be everything to everyone. Hamburguesa does one thing and does a fine job. There's nary a tricolore salad on this menu. Burgers and that's it, other than the chicken and mushroom sandwiches. The diabla is a saucy stunner that might almost make you consider a knife and fork. Components include chiltepin chili powder, mozzarella and yellow cheese, along with the base ingredients common to several burgers, including jalapenos. I saw so much hype about this place on social media, so I had to try it out and I'm glad that I did. It was good and definitely had unique styles of burgers. ***In a rush? Skip to the end for my tips.*** The girl helping us at the counter was super patient and helpful in answering all my questions, especially as first-time guests. So, I got the mortal burger (lettuce, tomato, mayo, ketchup, mustard, yellow cheese, jalapenos, white cheese, bacon, and sausage) and my friend got the Hawaiiana (lettuce, tomato, mayo ketchup, mustard, yellow cheese, jalapenos, white cheese, bacon, and pineapple). We also got a milkshake because what goes well with hamburgers? Yes, correct, milkshakes! We got the maple walnut milkshake and it was so good! Wait, let's go back to the burgers, it was definitely a lot, like both of our burgers were tall and filled with yummy goodness. I felt like my arteries were screaming in horror as I started eating my burger that had a beef patty, cheese, and sausage, but, boy, was it good. I wasn't a huge fan of the sausage, but it was still good. My friend liked her burger a lot, too. They were very indulgent burgers and the prices weren't bad for the amount of food. And, the accompanying chips were so good, but we were too full from our burgers to finish our chips. However, it was a very messy meal. I wish they gave us utensils. I know, I know, it will always be messy eating a burger. But I didn't enjoy liquids dripping down my arms. I also didn't like that my bread became soggy quickly. For me, this is not a meal to have very often because it was so heavy and rich. But if I'm craving a hefty, indulgent, and yummy burger, I know where to go! Tips: - There seems to be plenty of street parking. - FYI, there is around a 3% credit card charge. I didn't see any notice by the register about this. I wish they informed us, then we would have paid in cash instead of using our credit card. - The burgers come with "papas" aka potato chips. I almost bought the extra papas because it didn't specify that they came with them. - If you are squeamish about getting your hands messy while eating, you should bring wipes with you. There are no utensils, so it's an all-hands-on burger experience. - In the corner of the restaurant, they have professional lighting where you could take pictures of your burgers and take really good-looking pictures. Where: Hamburguesa - 403 Hackensack St., Carlstadt, NJ What: The Classica - Meat, Lettuce, Tomato, Jalapeno, Mayo, Ketchup, Mustard, Yellow Cheese. The Classica burger was not what I expected. I should have known something was different when I realized all descriptions of the burgers on the menu are referred to as "meat" just as in my description of the Classica above. There is no mention of beef, chuck, blend, sirloin, brisket, pork, moose, elk, nothing but "meat". On my first bite, the large dose of mustard hit me, then a vinegary bite of the jalapeno followed by more mustard. I never really did taste meat or bread or whatever it is. I'm not bashing Hamburguesa, the burger just isn't to my taste. With that said, the meat is more like a meatloaf, and with what I'd estimate to be just about 50% breadcrumbs of some type. It tasted a bit like Italian style breadcrumbs with dry parsley mixed into the "meat" the way my family would start a meatloaf or meatballs. This isn't the type of burger you can specify a temperature for either. It' comes out the way you see it in the photos. The abundant amount of lettuce was great, but the heaps of mustard tasted as if I was eating a mustard sandwich. At $9.60 I thought it was a bit pricey for what it is given today's burger competition (2023). All in all you may like it, I didn't. I encountered this same type of burger back in 2013 at a burger restaurant in Tenafly called: "Blue Star Burgers" which closed very soon after it opened (surprise, surprise). If you want to sell a meatloaf style burger, put it on the menu as a "specialty" or tell me what it is beforehand so I can make the call. If you do try Hamburguesa and you like it, you'll be happy to know you can double your Classica burger "meat" for just $1 dollar extra. read more

Wifey requested to go to Wendy's for a burger. I thought better of it and offered this spot as we've never tried it We ordered to go as they only have small table tops and metal stools. Well, my first indication was I put the 2 burgers packed in a bag and thoughtfully stapled on the rear passenger's footwell. Within a minute I knew something was a muck. The odor emitting from this bag was horrendous! A cross between raw garlic and old lettuce. We hurried home to determine WTF I just spent $20 on. We ordered 1 classical burger and 1 Hawaiian burger( pineapple slice in addition). One bite and that was it. I almost threw up. To say these were the worst burgers I've ever had ( including fast food) would be an understatement. Bread crumbled due to stale the meat was a weird color and it was swimming in ketchup and mayo. By far, one of the best places to grab a burger! Everything is prepared and cooked when ordered, nothing pre-made. The first two pictures are of the inside, there are other tables as well! The middle 3 are how the food is served. I ordered "La Diabla" and was an outstanding combination of flavors! The buns were soft when biting but not soggy at all, which to me is a must! The meat patty tasted and was cooked perfectly, even on every bite. Theres really nice heat in burger because of the the Jalapeño Peppers and Chiltipin Pepper sauce! Do I regret giving this place a try? Absolutely not. Did the food knock me out, making me want to go back? No, not really. Revised Review. Longtime customer. Horrible customer service. They screwed up my order and when I called instead of a refund, they told me to come back, and when I did, it would free of charge. When I came back to order, they flatly refused to honor the refunded purchase. To top it off, they completely screwed up my phone order. Staff was clueless and unhelpful. Manager told them to have me "fight it out with the bank". Needless to say, they lost a longtime customer over 1 hamburger. Terrible customer service. Hamburguesa has been advertising "coming soon" on their store front for months. Well, "soon" has finally arrived. I stopped in on Saturday evening September 21 around 8:15 PM or so. Unfortunately for the establishment it was empty. Behind the counter was a very friendly young lady, she explained the menu choices and what's been most popular so far; we shared a laugh over pineapple on food. I was told one of the favorites is the Mortal - mayo, ketchup(what ever happened to catsup?), mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeños, meat, white and yellow cheeses, sausage and bacon. That's a lot of stuff on one burger! My order was "to go". Not a favorite of mine, but I live 2 minutes away and I just wanted to be home after a long day at work. The order was placed in a cardboard clamshell, the burger wrapped in paper and some homemade potato chips thrown around the perimeter. Things go somewhat downhill from here. The "sandwich" was constructed on a sesame seed bun that was the approximate size of a Whopper® bun. The patty was the circumference of the bun and kind of thin. All those many ingredients obliterated the bun, similarly all those many ingredients obfuscated the flavor of the "meat". The bun is on them, the choice of burger is on me. I would love to tell you about the flavor and quality of the meat, because that's what is most important to me when evaluating a new burger place. I cannot. I will return one day and get a sandwich with a reduced amount of toppings so I can better evaluate the burger itself. I'm hoping that they rethink their choice of bun and consider a more substantial roll that won't succumb to the many toppings. I wound up forgetting about the bun and finished using a fork. Small cozy place. My son had the Hawaiian burger, it was a great combination of sweet and heat. My husband had the Classic burger, he said it was just perfect. I had the Mushroom burger. I was going to complain about the mushroom. I was specking an entire portobello cap. I decided to keep eating and then complain. Well let me tell you. We have been waiting for this place to open up for months and today I finally was able to go and try, well at least tried to. Going inside it's a nice small cozy place which I loved, nice music, nice furniture and light fixtures everything looked very nice and chic. I wanted to order the Mortal burger but they didn't have any sausages left (it was 1:30pm) so I ordered a classic burger (I mean who can go wrong with a classic burger ‍) they didn't have any options on the menu for extras but I asked for some pickles in it (which I had none in my burger..). They also had these drinks called boing juice which they also happened to be out but the customers who were sitting down were drinking some so I'm not sure if they were out ‍‍‍. Let's get to how the burger was. You know that feeling when you bite into a nice juicy burger, well this burger didn't have that. The patty tasted like a frozen patty which I did not like at all. I really did not expect the patty to be like that knowing the place is merely for burgers I mean the place is called Hamburguesa but the jalapeños and tomatoes were at least very nice.
