After pressing a few more times she finally admitted the doctor was in with a patient and still had another new patient to see before me...so it could still be an hour. An hour...after being already 45 minutes late? I asked if she had my phone number, she said yes, so I said I'd go run an errand or two and text me when they're getting close. She claimed she could not text, to which I replied you're welcome to call me or send an email. Desk lady was having none of it and told me she's "not going to do that". I tried reasoning with her saying it's extremely unprofessional to be that far behind and to not give other appointment patients a heads up, using analogies of dinner and flight reservations. She couldn't be bothered. I told her to refund my money and I'd go elsewhere. I'm sorry...but as a retiree who built a professional career on setting proper expectations, communicating effectively, negotiating efficiently, etc, this was unacceptable!
