I am genuinely confused by the positive reviews and want to share my own recent experience as a patient of Dr. Rubal's. After several rounds of IVF I was seeking her infertility "expertise" in the hopes of getting some answers surrounding my poor IVF outcomes. Insert a specialist who is familiar with the RE world, my family was super excited to work with her and unfortunately we are extremely disappointed by the outcome. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The communication with her office (as other's have mentioned) is scattered and unreliable at best.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had trouble getting directions to complete specific labs in a timely fashion--these labs are cycle dependent and timeliness for completion is crucial. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She specifically told me I could reach out to her via the portal with any questions I had, but when I did so--her responses came off as irritated and short, often times not actually responding to my specific question.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would go days and sometimes a week without a response to a simple lab related question.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] At $500 an hour for an appointment and such a tender subject of unexplained infertility, this feels unacceptable and highly unsupportive. We truly did not feel that she cared about the complexity of my case or us as a family. I saw Dr Rubal in 2017. Goodness bless those that truly require fertility treatments in general. I know those cases exist. I saw Rubal for initial tests to make sure all was fine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The intake was awful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Through this vulnerable process, I discovered they are a business, built on fear & "not good enough-ness". (At that time, the clinic was an "infertility" clinic, & the test I was given was an "infertility" test vs the one my husband received which was a "fertility" text. Messaging matters, however subtle or not so subtle. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Rubal seemed surprised when I mentioned these differences.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]) I'm grateful I declined their conveyor belt of expensive suggestions, & found a good acupuncturist. This industry is mostly a scam in that many of the issues can be addressed by healthy habits, both in mind & body. Once I did my homework, and did the work, getting multiple alternative therapies, I found myself pregnant at 40, naturally, & even surprising to me, had a very healthy unmedicated, natural birth. I met Dr. Rubal through Infertility Unfiltered. I was immediately intrigued when I heard she has a more holistic approach to fertility problems and how to deal with them. I take a lot of gut health supplements and no RE has ever really been able to answer my questions about them. Dr. Rubal was able to give me advise on all of them and answer every question I had. We have male factor infertility and an egg quality problem. She suggested a couple of supplements for my husband and I that none of the other 3 REs I have talked with suggested. We also discussed diet, environmental toxins, and mindset/stress. Overall, I'm so glad Dr. Rubal and I crossed paths. I highly recommend spending some time exploring your fertility questions with Dr. Rubal. I had a 6 month waiting period to see my IVF specialist. So I'm the mew time I got all my questions answered with Dr. Rubal who ordered all the relevant tests. So by the time I got my IVF appt I was well informed and felt in control of my journey. In my experience, IVF doctors don't explain things thoroughly and it can feel like being lost (and with no control) in a maze. Dr. Rubal takes her time explaining in detail all the ins and outs of what could be affecting your fertility and the solutions. For that reason she's worth every penny. Dr. Rubal is the best..this review is long over due! We were so blessed to have such a knowledgeable, kind hearted, compassionate doctor. My journey began when my husband decided to have a reversal vasectomy a few months after we married and I was 42. I moved quickly to find a doctor and couldn't be happier with Dr. Rubal, her holistic approach, paid off. After much discussion she recommended to do IVF. We had the egg harvest procedure done and luckily had vital embryos. The first try of IVF I got pregnant and 9 weeks miscarriages :(. It was the most difficult time for us. I was so heartbroken, depressed and emotional. Dr. Rubal was so supportive when I wanted to just give up. My husband and I thought about it and we couldn't stop now we have our frozen embryos (my babies) waiting for us..so we went for round two. Bang!! We got pregnant :) I was so paranoid throughout the pregnancy but Dr. Rubal's positive attitude kept me strong. She constantly communicated with me and wanted to know how I was doing even after I transitioned over to my regular OBGYN. Dr. Rubal is an amazing doctor and I highly recommend her.
