Tough department for one of the lowest crime areas in the country. Pulled my son over on his way to school for simply getting confused when faced with a situation he hadn't encountered - instead of a warning, we have to get an attorney and go to court. The lieutenant who I spoke to came across triggered at the mention of a review being written. He also insinuated that if you are a buddy of an officer, they waive tickets. No doubt there are some decent officers at CPD, but not the ones involved with our situation. Beware parents, Carmel Police have nothing better to do than target teenagers.

I had heard of Fletcher Place food pantry, but I didn't realize how much this location offers. Check it out: 1. Thrift store. People can come and shop around the store to score clothes, shoes, and household items for free. All clothes have been donated from the community and are sorted in the basement by volunteers. Clothing in the store is nice and any stained clothing is given to Salvation Army. Anything the Salvation Army can't use is given to a company in Canada that turns them into rags. Nothing is wasted and the thrift store staff says that their goal is for people to leave feeling better about themselves. That's why the store is so clean, organized, and friendly. 2. Preschool. There are two preschool classrooms for kids. Not only do they receive education, but teachers will pick out clothing from the thrift store for the children if they are not adequately dressed. Children then get to keep the clothes. There is also a large library that allows students to choose books from (to keep) each week. 3. Kitchen. The top floor has a large multi-purpose room that is often used for meals. Churches come in every day and donate food and cooking ability. No one is ever turned down from receiving food. An average of 120 people are fed every meal. The facility is super nice and always clean- but only with the help of volunteers. The building is also very secure and they always have plenty for volunteers to do. They also have an e-mail newsletter they send out about volunteer opportunities. *There is a big Christmas event in which you take families "shopping" throughout the building to get all necessities and Christmas presents. Very cool. They're looking for help* Check this place out if you've never been. They're doing great things!

Bring your clothes, blankets, shoes here, where they will be given away to people that really really need them. They also operate a free food pantry so you can bring food items for needy families. After donating a cart load of stuff, they gave me a receipt for tax purposes. On the way out I also noticed a community garden and produce stand that probably operates in the summer. My wife is a Girl Scout troop leader and they often come here to volunteer, sorting food items and helping to sort and display other donations.

I had to visit this location because of a passport issue. The employee that started the passport…read moreacceptance process was dishonest about the photo submission. I called the 800 customer service phone number, after I was told that the employee had been possibly dishonest, to confirm the truth. After learning the truth, and being advised to visit this location before the passport was sent out, I went to the branch as directed. What I particularly found disturbing was that the way the two employees at the window behaved as well as the supervisor. Additionally, they were not aligned with customer service and disagreeed with what I was advised to do. I wanted to get this situation resolved quietly and privately but all three employees had different intentions. Very disappointing experience. Hopefully this is not the way every employee works at this location.

I'm a disabled veteran and I can always use the help when trying to make sense of how my property tax is determined and what is deductible. The Indiana legislature just modified how deductions are calculated for disabled veterans and honestly I was not able to discern how the modification affected me. They took the time to explain the changes and that made all the difference. I only hope someone in that office sees this review and tells the others. Your kindness and compassion makes a challenging life a little easier. Thank you.

My experience being called for jury duty was fine. The people who work here are very professional and efficient. The building itself is beautiful. If you do have to serve on a jury and spend some time here, there are lots of restaurant options to choose from. I ended up being dismissed before lunch. Keep in mind that they don't allow you to park outside of the courthouse itself. There's a free parking garage a block away at which jurors are instructed to park. I would add an additional 10 minutes to your trip to find parking and walk to the courthouse. It's not far away, but there's a traffic light that takes a while. Also keep in mind: Before you enter the courthouse, you have to walk through a body scanner and empty your pockets. It's very easy but also kind of a pain, but I guess it's necessary in these strange and unpredictable times.

Like usual, I picked up Indy State Fair booklets of schedules, fees, etc. Unfortunately, less tent vendors. Baby rabbits were not out due to the heat. Let's be honest. It's pretty easy (and fun) to make fun of Carmel, the growing urban city to the…read morenorth of Indy that is lower in crime, higher in income, and generally on way more "best city" lists than Indy will ever be. Yes, Carmel has a ridiculous amount of roundabouts. Yes, Carmel has a ridiculous amount of public art within those roundabouts. Yes, Carmel is more conservative than Indy politically. I'll even admit that I'm not particularly fond of the city center area and to this day I think that the Center for Performing Arts dropped the ball on accessibility concerns (though is improving). But, okay. When Carmel develops something, they maintain it (I'm looking at you Indy). The Monon Trail in Carmel is awesome. The Christkindlmarkt is nationally recognized for good reasons. There's a strong emphasis on quality of life in Carmel including abundant greenspaces and fitness options. Accessibility? While not perfect (again, looking at you Center for Performing Arts), it's pretty amazingly consistent and a definite emphasis (though I'll admit that I find Fishers even stronger). Whenever I find my Tenderness Tour wheeling through Carmel? I can nearly always get city leaders engaged. In Indy? Maybe. Maybe not. Hotels here are pretty awesome (though Carmel could use more affordable options). After many years under the leadership of Jim Brainard, Carmel elected Sue Finkam as mayor their last time around and, as expected, she's shaken things up a bit. The park system - wonderful. Again, maintained FAR better than Indy. City services seem strong - I can typically drive in Carmel during the winter even after a snow. The city is always clean. Are there issues? Of course. But, there's an awful lot to love about Carmel. But yeah, I'm still going to make fun of it.

Customer service was great as well…read more To begin with I was looking for a library to print out something and this one was the closes one to my area. Moreover the library was very clean and neat. And mask is required to enter. In addition as a guest they only give you a hour to use the computers which is a pretty fair time. I took no more than 10 minutes on mine. Also they charge 30 cents per page if it's all black and of course more if it's colored. Furthermore I totally recommend this library.

The facilities are clean.. The courts are in great shape.. The staff is friendly and helpful..
