We are into the sixth month - and still waiting first and second drafts..... We signed an agreement for the work and paid half the fee on July 1st - Late October we finally got the signed and recorded Power Of Attorneys ("POAs"). It's now early December - We received first drafts of the trust docs in early Nov and still have not seen a draft of the wills. LOTS of excuses (court, flu, software issues, etc.) for the delays and denied our requests to cancel the work. Warning: The standard contract language does not allow you to get out of the contract or a refund of your payments. The contract gives you no "Out". I recommend not signing the agreement without an expiration "cancellation" date. Complete the work by x date or the contract is terminated. Don't pay half - maybe 10% to get started and then more as the work is completed....
