Great value clothing store for Yellowstone tourists!…read more The prices here vary depending on what you're looking at, but there's an awesome clearance section at the back of the shop that has a ton of great offerings. When I stopped by, there were plenty of $7 shirts and pants, $4 women's dickies long sleeve button down shirts, windbreakers, $18 thick Yellowstone hoodies, and more. I'm thrilled to have scored $7 and $12 quality windbreakers from this store. They had Yellowstone emblems on them and originally go for $30+ each. The cheapest price I saw for quality windbreaker jackets were $24 elsewhere in the tourist town. Worth a visit! Hope you score some fabulous souvenirs at great prices too! :)

I was wearing my warmest California winter skiing/snowboarding gear but was still feeling chilly while in Yellowstone. But finding clothes in Gardiner that someone in Gardiner would actually wear proved difficult as I quickly learned that Gardiner stores weren't stocked with the cute and warm outfits that I saw the people of Montana wearing - they were stocked with what tourists wanted - souvenirs and last minute travel items. So I get it - there are currently only 971 residents in Gardner and in seasonal months, tourists greatly outnumber residents so shops are geared for the tourist. But it still sucked since it's not what I wanted. Enter "The Saddle Shop". In addition to saddles and horse riding equipment, it offered clothes and accessories that were stylish and wearable. It was the only store open that offered colorful beanies in multiple styles rather than just Yellowstone or plain beanies. I didn't find an appropriate parka or boots but I did find a really cute beanie that I wore everyday for the rest of the trip. Loved it so much!

The customer service is excellent and the sales people are polite and helpful in finding sizes or helping with gift ideas. They are all very knowledgeable about the products in the store such as where and how they are made. This will be an excellent shopping experience during your trip through Yellowstone National Park and you can see the Roosevelt Arch from the store front and the beautiful mountains laying just inside the gateway to Yellowstone. I have even been lucky enough to see elk eating from the flower box out front of the store and bison strolling up and down Park Street. You will love this place!

The owner has done a FANTASTIC job at bringing in styles that are wearable instead of just novelty western pieces, which is what is most often found in these types of towns. While she does throw her own little bit of western flair in there, the store is very modern. There are great yoga pieces, work appropriate pieces, and a great spread of other fashionable items. This is sure to be one of the most popular shopping spots in Big Sky.

The employees are very friendly and welcoming; considering the multitude of international tourists. I purchased several items in the Clearance section of the store as well as the main section. I took a picture of the grandkids in front of the ice cream counter and was rudely confronted by a middle aged male worker for not asking his permission to take the photo. Then he wanted to keep arguing about it. Very poor customer service to say the least and a lack of caring that our little grandkids were with us. We stopped by to grab ice cream before we camped out near Old Faithful for the next eruption. We got the huckleberry ice cream in a cup and added a waffle cone. As an added bonus, the ice cream had huckleberry jam swirls in it, yum. Totally fresh, great texture - yummy. Satisfied our ice cream itch on a warm day after a long hike! We wanted to sit outside to eat the ice cream but a couple of ravens occupied the place because people kept feeding them crumbs. Do not feed wildlife, including the birds - there's signage/requests everywhere in the park but there's always someone who doesn't heed them.. Sigh. Overall the store is great if you want to shop for souvenirs and anything Yellowstone or huckleberry related. Apart from that, they do stock some ready to eat meals as well as some pantry items.
