We stopped by to grab ice cream before we camped out near Old Faithful for the next eruption. We got the huckleberry ice cream in a cup and added a waffle cone. As an added bonus, the ice cream had huckleberry jam swirls in it, yum. Totally fresh, great texture - yummy. Satisfied our ice cream itch on a warm day after a long hike! We wanted to sit outside to eat the ice cream but a couple of ravens occupied the place because people kept feeding them crumbs. Do not feed wildlife, including the birds - there's signage/requests everywhere in the park but there's always someone who doesn't heed them.. Sigh. Overall the store is great if you want to shop for souvenirs and anything Yellowstone or huckleberry related. Apart from that, they do stock some ready to eat meals as well as some pantry items.

If you haven't had a huckleberry thing yet, give it a go. It's unique, and something my group and I found delightful. Things go a bit south from here. The restaurant is either sit down for food (not ice cream) or to go. We were famished by the time we finished our exploration of the geysers, so we were ready to eat anything. The restaurant flags all the healthy/environmentally friendly options which turns out which doesn't leave a lot of options. For some reason, we all thought we'd try to "help the planet" by going for their more limited options, but man was I filled with regret. I got the black bean burger, and the patty would not hold. It kept falling to pieces while I was holding the patty up. I mean if it can't even hold it's shape, offer it up as a bowl. What's the point of serving it as a burger? My friends had better luck and their food was pretty good. I think the saving grace for all of us was the soda. The service was poor. For example, one friend asked for cheese on the side to dip her fries in. She was served cheese fries with the fries coated in fries. We ordered ice cream after our food. While we were still working on the remnants of our plates, the server just took the plates asking if we were ready to leave. Like cool. You just want us to leave. I get that it was a restaurant, but I was close to not wanting to leave a tip at all.

We saw a mama elk and young feeding in the grass. We got some snacks and stood in a long queue to pay. The wait was not bad. We enjoyed our snacks with other visitors on a bench outside.

Great value clothing store for Yellowstone tourists!…read more The prices here vary depending on what you're looking at, but there's an awesome clearance section at the back of the shop that has a ton of great offerings. When I stopped by, there were plenty of $7 shirts and pants, $4 women's dickies long sleeve button down shirts, windbreakers, $18 thick Yellowstone hoodies, and more. I'm thrilled to have scored $7 and $12 quality windbreakers from this store. They had Yellowstone emblems on them and originally go for $30+ each. The cheapest price I saw for quality windbreaker jackets were $24 elsewhere in the tourist town. Worth a visit! Hope you score some fabulous souvenirs at great prices too! :)

We treated ourselves to ice cream - graham cracker which was pretty tasty, a little grainy because of the graham cracker crumbs but still tasty. They don't let you sample so you've got to pick based on what you see and read. It's a large store with not one souvenirs but also some pantry and ready to go food items. We also got ourselves some snacks for the road - guacamole and rolled up tortilla chips and hummus and pretzels.

As we stopped for the Tower Falls Scenic Overlook, we realized there was the Tower General Store at the north end of the parking lot, about 2-mi south of Tower Junction. (Jul 2026). It's a spacious one-story store filled end-to-end with Yellowstone National Park merchandise. Towards the back, they even have one of those machines that presses a penny into a souvenir medallion! So there is still a use for your old pennies! There are packaged food and snacks, and a small selection of produce. We even saw some bottles of beer, wine, and spirits. A very small menu of casual hot food is available: chili and hot dogs. There's about seven picnic tables, outdoors. The parking lot for the store is quite large. This is also the trailhead for the tower fall scenic overlook. There's outdoor flush restrooms, which is something of a luxury in the park :-).

Lots of huckleberry related stuff like syrups, jams, teas etc. They also carry other souvenir items like t shirts, caps, magnets, postcards, etc. Large parking lot out front so plenty of parking. Store closes promptly at 5 which means the store restrooms also close at that time. The parking lot does have a couple of public portapotties.
