A lot of people bring their dogs. This hike has a lake where your dog can swim. Nature is beautiful, when you are walking around you could hear the woodpeckers. The only problem is parking. There are not a lot of parking spots, and if you go there, there are only residents parking on the weekends. There is no additional parking available for people who just visiting the park.

There were tons of dogs roaming about, owners right on their heels, so no worries about unattended animals. Clean(er) ponds, since they're connected to flowing water sources. There was only spot we saw where the water seemed stagnant. Most everywhere else it was relatively clean. It's not crystal blue Caribbean waters, obviously, but for your dog to swim in, it's good. CONS: Parking seemed tight. Found a spot, but it looks like local residents are not happy about street parking for overflow, so there were signs prohibiting street parking. This was at the Drabbington entrance. I'm sure there's another entrance I don't know about. OVERALL: My new gold standard for off leash hiking.

No thanks!…read more I definitely won't be returning to this wildlife "refuge" (Refuge: a place to seek shelter from pursuit) after learning that, not only is hunting is allowed, but it takes place near and at the same time that hikers, children and others are enjoying the same area! Yikes! Hunters are asked to "Please exercise caution when hunting on or near the rivers or near nature trails." but hunting accidents happen all the time and even children are allowed to hunt on the land. (Who teaches a child to kill, anyway?). Hunting is not limited to invasive species but allows indiscriminate killing of native species as well. These "refuges" are confined by developed areas, necessary for migratory species and become essentially canned hunts. Not only do I not want to get shot but I will not support a sham program deceiving the public into thinking that it protects and shelters wildlife.

One can bring their dogs too, it's a great place for socializing with other pet owners. I found that this place is hardly ever crowded and hence a lot of parking is naturally available. Recommend for runners!

Really great park! Went here to enjoy a bagel sandwich and take a walk in the sun on a beautiful…read moreday! It is well maintained, so pretty clean and peaceful. The tree memorial for the 9/11 victims from the area was beautiful and a nice way to honor those folks in the community. There is alot of open grassy area to sit or play - a few benches along the trail, and a handful of picnic tables. If you want to sit out though, you probably want to bring your own chair. The walk was nice - very flat area without really any hills and the trail is paved, well defined, has mile markers, and is wide. It's a little over a mile, so if you're short on time you can get a quick walk in otherwise you can do a few laps to get in extra mileage! I did see there was a little playground area as well and a gazebo! There was actually a small ceremony happening when I was there. Another sweet thing to note, there is a senior living home on the trail, so it was lovely to see some elderly people out getting sunshine and enjoying the park too! Definitely recommend checking it out if you want to get outside and have a nice place to go!

They even have a cool, zip line and a place for volleyball, basketball, pickle ball, etc.. My kids had so much fun and we wish we had a park like this near our house.

Spent 2 hours walking around the main trail and enjoying the views of green trees. The air was fresh and there were a few people walking along. Park closes at 7pm! Aside from a small bathroom shed, I'm not sure if there's any other nearby bathrooms but there were a lot of picnic benches.
