It had a typical bar vibe where you could hear people talking and chattering in the background, but wasn't too loud where you couldn't talk to your friends and guests that came with you. Our waitress was fantastic and greeted us immediately and set us up with our drinks. Our drinks were perfect as requested. I've heard people comment about the brisket burger. It looks like a food challenge as I've never seen anything so big. It was amazing though. The meat was cooked to Perfection and the taste is almost addicting. Presentation was awesome. They had some Fourth of July specials and our waitress said one of them is going to become a permanent fixture on your menu. It was a rice and chicken dish and the name slipped my mind. However, it was amazing and had amazing flavors in It. Their buffalo wings are very good with plenty of sauce with a nice flavor. Their salads are almost a meal in themselves. Presentation was beautiful. The restaurant was clean and easy access as it is on a corner. And for those of you who wanna enjoy the great outdoors when the weather is fine as it was on the Fourth of July, they do have outside seating. Five of us in a booth and the others at a long high top. I get this set up for space, BUT they had us with two different servers AND two different order times. The large high top all got their meals first, while two adults with the 3 young children were left to the wolves waiting for the food at the booth. Food was all subpar except the fish. The family members in the booth (the kids) had two completely burnt cheeseburgers. I wouldn't even eat that... let alone try and get a young CHILD to eat it. I waited and WAITED to see the server and let them know. We also needed drinks and napkins, etc. I had to go to the bar in order to flag her down. For the cheeseburger, they didn't offer to do anything. Because at that point, everyone was done eating. But they didn't even offer a dessert as a gesture or off the bill, nothing. It was just a mountain of issues, that was one huge disaster. Maybe try to come with only 2-3 people, may have better luck?

We were impressed by the Gray's root beer and ginger beer. Love them serving truly local brewed sodas. The root beer was a little vanilla heavy but I liked it because I don't like most root beer. The ginger brew was EXCELLENT, and I know my ginger beers. Now I have to find out where I can buy it. We consider ourselves calamari aficianados (self-proclained, of course.). We were stoked to try it based on all of the rave reviews. Alas, this is the dish that most drop the rating for us. The calamari pieces were very small, very tough and the batter blew off. Weirdly, it showed up so close to our ordering it that I wondered if something was wrong. Was the oil so hot that the usual cook time was now too long? We're they trying a new vendor and these very small pieces cooked WAY to fast. In any case, I suggest they relook at the quality control on that dish. Below I send a photo of all the batter that fell off in the serving dish. It was a nice sized order and tasted like very good rubbery, miniature calamari. My husband ordered the pork chop and it was delicious. It was so moist and I didn't know whether that was due to brining, sous vide, bone in, or just the best preparation I've ever had. And his plate was full of potatoes and brussel sprouts. Couldn't have been happier. I had the walleye (only on Fridays) and it was a beautiful, thick fillet cooked to perfection. The potatoes were delicious, albeit not as pesto as I expected. But skin on and purple potatoes showed me a commitment to quality ingredients. There was also a nice slaw on my plate. I like that their plates had a starch and a vegetable; kind of like the restaurant days of old. No nickel and diming the customer with ordering all your sides. Heck, skin on potatoes and the more-nutricious purple potatoes are like vegetables as well. Service was great and the restaurant was nice and warm despite it being a very cold day. Not an issue at all. The service was friendly and they checked back in with me frequently. I just got the basic cheeseburger and substituted the onion rings instead of fries. The onion rings are the really thinly sliced, almost "straws" they were fine, I was worried they might be soggy, but they were not, they tend to be a little saltier than normal onion rings so just be prepared. I like it just fine that way. I asked my cheeseburger, medium, and it was medium, char-grilled as opposed to griddle cooked. It was properly seasoned and came with a dill pickle spear. Everything was delicious. prices were reasonable and affordable. It wasn't fancy or mind-blowing, but it was very solid, tasty bar food. I will certainly go back there sometime when I'm driving by the town.
