I came here for an event, and it was a cute little space! Luckily, for how packed it was, they have a great side yard that is a patio for seating and an additional bar space. Inside is smaller and has a long bar with some seating along the sides. I ordered a burger and fries while there and it was delicious! I cannot wait to come back and try more!

I had heard good things about this place, so I had been planning on going at some point to see what all the fuss is about, and also to get a review in on a local place, so that finally happened today!! Was meeting someone here for the first time time in real life, after talking online with a a fella that lives in the same town that I do, and he suggested that we go to the Looking Glass, and I said hell yeah, let's do it! Foolishly, I didn't take photos of the establishment itself, but it's much, MUCH smaller than I had thought it would be. Much smaller. It's possibly the size of two bedrooms? About half the seating is at the bar, and we had to wait for that when we first got in, because that's how busy they were at noon on a Sunday when they're serving their brunch menu! But then he had a friend there who left, and we were able to grab the seating that that guy was at. I asked what kind of hard cider they had, they told me pineapple agave. It sounded really good and appealing, so I ordered it, but it was surprisingly bitter, almost like sugary bile? Not quite sure I would recommend it. I perused the menu for quite some time, and damn near everything on the brunch menu features MEAT. I checked the website for the full menu to see if they had any meat alternatives/faux meats like impossible burgers or beyond burgers or beyond brats but no such luck. I just ordered a side of regular fries, because it's pretty hard to mess that up! It was a very, VERY large portion of fries, would have been enough to feed me and one other person, at very least. My date ordered the LG Gridle, which is sausage, bacon, eggs cheese, between two pieces of French toast, and comes with a serving of hash browns. If I were an omnivore who ate pork, I can see the appeal, for sure, but as is, no way. I'm sure it was delicious though. He had some kind of imperial stout beer and coffee for his first drink, and got something else for his second one, and I got a PBR in a can for my second one. I picked up the tab (like a real gentleman lol ) before that awkward pause and question about one tab or two was asked by our server, Emma, who was great, as attentive as she could be, given how packed it was in there! I thought I'd try to seem like I had places to be, things to do, and my date just said, "thank you, you didn't need to do that" to which I said I know. I don't know if I would come back here for food, or in the DAYTIME, but if they're still open at night, it truly seems like it'd be a decent beer bar later on at night? Smaller, intimate setting. Seems legit for that. But when it's packed like that for brunch, I can't hear myself think, much less what my date is saying! Damn. I don't need to make this harder for myself. But I guess other people really, really love it, and think it's worth it. And, to be fair, despite the place being super busy, and there only being three bartenders/waiters, ours (Emma) managed to be very attentive to us, and checked in with us regularly, asking if we needed anything, if we wanted to order more drinks, got me a to go box for my fries, made sure we had enough napkins, and that we were enjoying our food. Since my date came in frequently, he and her even made small talk for a while at one point, since they're familiar with each other on a semi social level. Not the best, not the worst.

Had a family dinner "get together" here! Everyone is from out of town so we didn't have any idea what to expect. First of all it's primarily a bar. The menu is mostly bar food (but has some breakfast/brunch items). The owner and wait staff were very friendly and courteous to say the least! I ordered the Montana Burger and fries and a Bloody Mary. Definitely delicious and plentiful. Parking is limited on the street but they have a big parking garage. Excellent service and very reasonably priced. Took away one star because it was extremely loud!!!

We stopped for dinner Saturday night after going to Janesville Renaissance Faire and unbeknownst to us, there was also a wine walk going on in the area also and it was absolutely packed. We fully expected long waits, etc. but service was fast and the food was excellent. I am so glad we learned about them from the Faire and we will definitely be back whenever we are in the area and will recommend them to others.

Stopped there for lunch the other day, ordered a roast beef sandwich with cheese with a side of fries. The waitress came to the table right away. Brought our drinks back and then took our order. The sandwich showed up hot and fast. It was piled two inches high with beef and a large order of fries. It was delicious and so large I brought 1/2 home. My husband lived it. I will diffenitly order it again.

Kept our 8 person party waiting while they waited on everyone else that had come in after us. We ended up leaving.

We ordered the cheese curds and fried mushrooms for an appetizer as well as the smoked maple and gin old fashioneds. Both of the drinks were really good as were the appetizers. I had the BLT and the fancy fries (everything is ala carte so this ran about $17) and greatly enjoyed both of them. The others in my party had the smash burgers and labeled those as mid. Skip the tater tots--no seasoning and not crispy.

She said they had a party of 6 in the back room but they didn't have any information on them so our party of 14 could have the room. We were also offered the upstairs room but couldn't take it because my 94 year old dad couldn't go up the stairs. Because Erin told us about the other party I called her to confirm a week before our event. She didn't call me back so I went down in person. I waited in front of the bar for at least 15 minutes with staff walking by me and the bartender not even looking at me. I finally interrupted one of the waiters and asked if Erin was there. He said he wasn't sure and that she could be next door. I went over to the restaurant next door and found her. She assured me our reservation was in her calendar and I had nothing to worry about. After our wedding we went to Jack & Jenny's and I let them know our party was there. They said our party could head upstairs. I was mad. How could they mess this up?!! We waited another 15 - 20 minutes and the bartender wouldn't wait on our party. Then when they got the back room ready for us and asked us to come back, the bartender asked if she could get us anything?!! We were seated. Everything else went smoothly. I think most of our party liked the food. I've had a burger there before and it was good. I had the Shrimp special and I wouldn't get it again. It was deep fried butterflied shrimp that tasted like they bought it from the freezer section.

There are stairs to get in the front, but it is level in the back where there is a parking lot as well! Our server was super nice and treated us well. They have pretty good beer list, but have a huge wine list surprisingly. They have many cocktails to choose from too! Our food was all delicious. They have a variety of options that span from fairly priced elevated "bar food" to gourmet dishes. The cheese curds came as cubes and were delicious! Super fun take on the traditional, and a must have for a bar in Wisconsin. For meals we got the hot honey chicken sandwich, tai chicken flatbread on cauliflower crust, lobster ravioli and DH burger! Everyone loved their meals. We'll be back for sure!

just passing through town, and as always, turned to Yelp. I would like to give 5 stars to bring up…read more the rating up because I think they're a 4.5 star restaurant. We were impressed by the Gray's root beer and ginger beer. Love them serving truly local brewed sodas. The root beer was a little vanilla heavy but I liked it because I don't like most root beer. The ginger brew was EXCELLENT, and I know my ginger beers. Now I have to find out where I can buy it. We consider ourselves calamari aficianados (self-proclained, of course.). We were stoked to try it based on all of the rave reviews. Alas, this is the dish that most drop the rating for us. The calamari pieces were very small, very tough and the batter blew off. Weirdly, it showed up so close to our ordering it that I wondered if something was wrong. Was the oil so hot that the usual cook time was now too long? We're they trying a new vendor and these very small pieces cooked WAY to fast. In any case, I suggest they relook at the quality control on that dish. Below I send a photo of all the batter that fell off in the serving dish. It was a nice sized order and tasted like very good rubbery, miniature calamari. My husband ordered the pork chop and it was delicious. It was so moist and I didn't know whether that was due to brining, sous vide, bone in, or just the best preparation I've ever had. And his plate was full of potatoes and brussel sprouts. Couldn't have been happier. I had the walleye (only on Fridays) and it was a beautiful, thick fillet cooked to perfection. The potatoes were delicious, albeit not as pesto as I expected. But skin on and purple potatoes showed me a commitment to quality ingredients. There was also a nice slaw on my plate. I like that their plates had a starch and a vegetable; kind of like the restaurant days of old. No nickel and diming the customer with ordering all your sides. Heck, skin on potatoes and the more-nutricious purple potatoes are like vegetables as well. Service was great and the restaurant was nice and warm despite it being a very cold day. That means a lot to me as an "older" customer We will definitely come back and even maybe try the calamari because our tiny ringlets and tentacles didn't look like any of photos I have seen.
