The fuel/transport fee was above average especially given the move location was only a 2 miles distance. They added an extra mover the day off bc we have stairs. Though that was their decision, we were charged above the quoted rate for the additional person. I paid cash, which gave us a 10% discount but with all the extra fees, the 10% isn't much of a savings. I still tipped and nothing was broken or damaged during the move. They also arrived on time and helped taped boxes that needed additional reinforcement. Boxes were placed on the appropriate rooms based on the labels. I would hire them again but would budget for 15-20% more than what they quote.

The lead mover even threatened and did leave unfinished because I asked if the bolts on my bed were being stripped, as I could hear the drill stripping them. Then attempted to charge double what was quoted, charging me extra for an additional mover I didn't request and for unnecessarily used tape. They literally wrapped tape around a mattress and taped up sofa pillows and charged me an additional $165 for packing supplies used. But somehow managed to scratch up my entire dinette, chairs included. Giving them 1 star is being generous; there is nothing professional about them.

Top Notch was indeed the tops! They were absolutely wonderful to work with from start to finish…read more We had a tricky move in that we moved from big home in Baltimore to a couple storage units until our renovations were complete at the new home. And the new home is on an island not accessible by car! Top Notch handled it ALL!! The crew packed everything up in Baltimore to be kept safe and sound in storage through the winter. When our new home was move in ready the following May, they took care of the move from storage reassuring us there was no need for us to make the trek back down to Baltimore to "supervise". They assured us and took care of everything on that end for us. Then they coordinated with the barging service in Portland, Maine, drove the 10 hours north in 2 full trucks, and as tides demanded, boarded a 6:30am boat across Casco Bay for the hour-long boat ride in some Maine spring weather. They arrived with smiles on their faces and unloaded the 2 trucks in record time so they could make the barge off at the next high tide. The crew was fantastic, the management helpful, reassuring, and responsive and every single item arrived in perfect shape. We could not have done this multi-stepped, complicated move without them. They were all polite, no cussing and no drama, just GREAT TEAMWORK!! Steady busting a$$ and finished what was originally predicted to be a five-hour job down to three and a half hours. These guys were professional. They, again, arrived at our new home promptly, and while the team shrunk from five in MD to two in SC, still did great work. Just steady humping, taking no breaks, until the job was completed. Great attitudes and a better work ethic we couldn't have asked for. Originally, I was a little apprehensive about using them for a move of this distance (600+ miles), but my wife believed in them (we used them 11 years ago for a 10-mile relocation) and she was correct.
