My advice is to save your money and go to a school that has Professors who care for the students, staff that is helpful with serious matters and don't turn a cheek when a matter is reported, and a school that provides the proper amount of desks for students in a classroom! D Hall food is very bland and disgusting. The food choices at Longwood is limited and there isn't much that surrounds FarmVille to eat off campus. Safety at Longwood is very sketchy to the point of car break ins with windows being smashed in in broad daylight. The overall atmosphere is sketchy and I very rarely see police officers anywhere on the grounds to help reduce these matters.

I have personal connections with nearly every one of my faculty members. For example: I took a Marketing course out of curiosity during the fall of my sophomore year. To this day, as a rising senior, that professor (who teaches only one or two night courses for the College) periodically emails to check in with me and to keep me aware of various jobs/internships that may be available to me - and that's not even the field in which I've chosen to major! The friendships that I have fostered here at Sweet Briar are some of the nearest and dearest I have ever experienced. While many of my friends graduated with the class of 2015, I have no doubt that we will remain close, despite between states apart. There are so many opportunities to create meaningful relationships, be it on your dorm hall, in a class, on a team, onstage, or in any number of our myriad of available clubs and activity groups. I have been a Student Admissions Ambassador since the spring of my first-year and I have never once felt phony or cliche when showing off our beautiful campus to visitors. I am not one to stomach "BS" and would certainly never stand for speaking it on my tours. Just goes to show that all the love and positivity is 100% real. As someone who initially visited SBC to prove that it was NOT what I wanted, I ask potential Vixens to put aside any preconceived notions you may have about Sweet Briar or women's colleges in general. I know that SBC tends to be thought of as tons of rich, white, Lilly Pulitzer-wearing, equestrians. I will not lie and say that there is not a portion of our student body that fits this description. But I will also honestly and passionately inform you that not every Sweet Briar woman falls into this type. I have friends who are terrified of horses, who are the first in their families to attend college, who rock Goth chic on a steamy August day at noon. We all come from different backgrounds, have different goals, and different interests. But one thing unifies us above all else: We are Sweet Briar women who fought to save our school and who sure as else are ready to take on the world.

It's not a high tech school full of modern conveniences - but it is a quaint, friendly hands on learning environment. My son came out here to tour the campus from Los Angeles and decided it was the right fit for him. He's finishing up his first semester and couldn't be happier there. Kids and staff are kind and welcoming. The programs are great. School spirit is almost overwhelming! I highly recommend a tour and considering seeing what they have to offer.

At this liberal arts school, you'll want to check out the University Chapel & Museum, where you'll see the 500 seat chapel, the Lee family mausoleum, and Lee's office when he was president of the university from 1865 to 1870. Also check out the Reeves Museum of Ceramics, which houses the 4th largest collection of ceramics in the U.S. I love walking around university campuses when I'm in a new area, and I'm glad I explored this one.

It's original buildings were designated National Historical Landmarks in the 1930s and Lee Chapel is the resting place of Robert E. Lee who is entombed within. This university is immaculately kept, with expansion of any kind thoughtfully completed in order to seamlessly blend in with the historical feel. I spent a summer here at a program during high school 20 years ago and absolutely loved it. It's small and cozy and home-y and the small town of Lexington has plenty of shops and restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the school. Visiting this summer I easily found my way around like old times, after 20 years not much has changed. It's still beautiful, I saw a few updates, but essentially felt like I had stepped back in time.

He's a Physician's Assistant and attended the U of L entirely online for the last year, finally graduating. The campus is beautiful with lots of open space, several modern buildings and a lovely student center. The campus bookstore is a little small but still had the tshirts and decals needed to show that he attended the school. Graduation was on the huge Shallenburger Field with proper social distancing enforced and plenty of space between parties. A little warm in the Sun so they had EMS available in case someone had a medical issue plus tents with cold water and plenty of shade. They did a great job of ensuring one-way traffic. I was certainly thinking of hyping this campus to my freshman niece. While I was there for a course I took notice of how folks congregated on the lawn, and the various lawn chairs, but the grounds provided both open and covered areas for study and social gatherings. The Rotunda itself is a beautiful centerpiece surrounded by pillars and paths floored by brick. Gardens everywhere. There's a small statue dedicated to the first president of the United States. It is centrally located, with academic buildings on one side, and mix of commercial buildings (food, snacks, banks, bookstores, UVA gear... ), it's all there. If you're a student you have quick access to everything. It's very convenient. Very impressed.

The people that I encountered were friendly and helpful in directing me to the Spider Shop which I believe is in the student center. I was hoping to browse the shop and perhaps buy a shirt or other University memorabilia. Unfortunately, the Spider Shop was closed when I arrived so perhaps the shop closes on Sundays. I didn't attend University here but I enjoyed my short visit. I have never had such an attentive, caring human being discuss with me in detail for over 45 minutes all the concerns I had to finish my degree in Mental Health Counseling here at Liberty. He lifted a huge weight today off of me and made my whole completion plan clear as day, all the while I felt genuine enthusiasm and desire from him for me to succeed on this path. I have never been so encouraged and supported by someone I didn't even know. His work with Liberty is truly his passion and his desire for excellence is genuine and palpable with the students he is helping. I've gotten a second wind from him and a reaffirmation of my passion to complete my mental health counseling degree and to help others the way he helped me. He truly is a gem of a human being and has kept me a lifelong Liberty student through his service, attention to detail and his care. While that may be true, I found that nearly every course incorporated biblical studies and Christian perspectives into the curriculum. As someone who practices Buddhism and had no knowledge of Christianity, I found it difficult to relate to the course content and meet those expectations. After careful consideration, I decided to withdraw from the program because it was not the right academic fit for me. This was a personal decision based on my background and learning preferences, not on the quality of the university itself. I believe Liberty University is an excellent choice for students who are Christian or who are comfortable with a curriculum that integrates biblical teachings throughout the program. However, prospective students from other faiths or those seeking a secular business education should carefully review the curriculum before enrolling to ensure it aligns with their expectations.
