However, like, it isn't one of the fanciest stations I have visited, and really has more of a brutalist atmosphere to it. Yeah, I can't say that it was all that great, except that it is very useful if you live in the area.

The station is fairly large and is one of the few stations on the network to not be "Underground", meaning the waiting area is much nicer and more pleasant than other stations. It is on multiple lines on the Underground - District - Circle - Hammersmith & City It is also on the DLR route with services going towards Stratford and towards Beckton or Woolwich Arsenal in both directions. C2C services on the London, Tilbury & Southend Line also run via this station, so it is served by a good number of services considering it isn't a highly attractive area of London to visit. The station isn't as busy as other nearby stations or the network altogether, with an average 2-3 million commuters passing through the station. Changing lines seemed straight forward and a much nicer process than at more central London stations, meaning I was off the Jubilee line and on my way back to my hotel on the District line in good time. The station didn't appear to be staffed, but as a step-free station, this didn't appear to be a problem. No facilities in the station in terms of places to eat drink or toilets, again this is pretty common and average for an Underground and DLR Station. 3* - Clean station, the decent overall feel and one of the nicer places to change trains if required when going into Stratford.

Canonbury station has a place in my heart seeing as it is my local station. It is really clean and…read morespacious as it is so new. The East London line now goes all the way from Highbury and Islington down past Shoreditch High Street, so it is great for getting to Brick Lane. I would say that it is not particularly obvious for first time users which platform you need to go to - you can spot these nervous types hovering around at the top of the stairs pondering which direction to take. Hint: Platforms 1 and 3 go West and 2 and 4 go East, so I just jump on the first train that is arriving. The other thing is that when it rains, parts of the station can turn into lakes, and there isn't much cover from the elements generally. You have been warned! Obviously, despite all this, I still love the place.

Watford Underground station serves the Metroplitian line and goes as far as Baker Street. From the…read moreplatform you will have fast trains only at peak times and normal every time. The platform has a lovely warm waiting room and benches along the platform. The men's toilets are on the platform. Due to the lack of digital timetable, you will get the noticboard telling you trains leave every 10mins and 5mins when its peak time. The station has two ticket kiosk, one ticket office, and a cash machine that has been handy many of times. The female toilets maybe old but always clean. You have three ticket barriers and big wide one for bikes, prams and luggage. Because their is no lift you do have to carry your bicycle etc up the stairs. Outside the station you have bicycle ranks, do pleased be warned bicycles have been known to go missing at this station. On your right you have a small newsagents and further round the corner a cab office. Station has good car drop off point/pick up as well. Watford Metroplitian station won't be here much longer due to the inmpending Croxely Rail link. I'm going to miss the scenic route to through Cassiobury Park to the station but until then I will continue to enjoy.

It has opened up whole swathes of London that were previously too difficult to get to. Trains arrive every 10-15 minutes, they are clean and air conditioned.

Transiting from the Underground to the train platform is extremely easy. My only complaint is that there are very few seats for waiting. There is an AMT Coffee (they're everywhere!) and a few other shops for grabbing a quick sandwich to take on the trains.

Only opened in 1899, it is one of London's youngest mainline terminal stations. Beatles fans will recognize it as the opening location of their first film, A Hard Day's Night. Though much has changed since 1964, any true Beatles fan will enjoy imagining the Beatles running for a train with a mob of screaming birds in their wake. Walking the historic platforms, only recently expanded, I was overwhelmed with the everyday beauty and usefulness of a national transit system.

It turns out that this station is pretty much underneath a major intersection, but fortunately…read morethere are tunnels that take you under the road, which I think helps quite a lot. Anyway, it wasn't all that great, though it certainly has more charm that some others. Like, the ticket hall is one of those cavernous ones that you find on other sections of the Picadilly Line.

This tram stop connects you to East Croydon, West Croydon and even Wimbledon. The Wellesley Tram…read morestop is just outside the Whitgift Centra entrance from Wellesley Road. This tram stop is a great addition to exploring Croydon without having to walk everywhere with your bags of shopping. You can not get to Wimbldon from this stop but take it to East Croydon and switch there. There is no ticket office but you can touch in with your Oyster Card or buy a paper ticket from the machine on the platform.

Harrow on the Hill is a meet point for several branches of the Metropolitan line heading South to London (Uxbridge, Watford, Chesham, Amersham), as well as the Chiltern trains. As such it can be a great meeting place, but it also become a bottle neck during rush hour. There is a bus depot just as you exit the station and the mall is just across the street The station also has a Cafe Nero (no seating area) right by the ticket booth and a Costa Coffee (with seating area) just before you enter the station I gave it only 3 stars as the station tends to be on the dirty side and the waiting rooms often smell like pee
