    Luxurious ant-sized pillows
    Michael W.

The room was filthy and missing furniture. Pillows had been removed from our room to give as extras to other guests. We were offered folded blankets to use instead. The blankets were wet. The garbage cans in the room were still full of trash from prior guests. I tried to contact a manager that night, but the manager was unreachable. Given the unacceptable stay I asked for a refund. My card had not yet been charged so the manager on duty told me we would not be charged. We were in fact charged and when I called to complain I was met with anger and told that I would not be refunded. I would sooner sleep in my car than this hotel!

We stayed for 5 nights...spent a lot of time in and around the hotel. The staff was so warm and inviting. The breakfast was super yummy!!! Many choices and something new everyday. The in hotel gym was great! Great equipment! The hotel decor and ambiance was perfect! Thank you for being so hospitable.

Blood stain or what? You decide
    DeJuan K.

As I arrived late Sunday evening, I went to bed immediately. When I awoke, I noticed that there was blood/stains on my pillow. In addition, I noted that none of the pillows has cases. I notified the front desk that Monday morning and was promised that the issue would be resolved before I returned that evening...it was not. When I entered my room, I noticed that nothing had been done. I called the front desk receptionist to make them aware of the matter. The receptionist, Tierra, answered my call and was extremely apologetic. As a matter of fact, she was what I consider a saving grace for Hampton Inn. Tierra and another individual came to my room and took pictures of the bloodstained pillow along with the other pillows that were not in cases. They then informed me that it was policy that should a pillow have any stains on it to be taking out of circulation. As with the First receptionist, I was informed that the manager would be notified and that he would be contacting me. Fast forward to Friday when I checked out of the hotel. I had heard nothing from management regarding this matter. The only person to contact me via text was Tierra to follow up with the status/resolution. I informed her when she contacted me Wednesday that I had not heard from management. I believe the manager's name was Johnathan. The point of this text is to stress customer service. Tierra informed me that the manager was busy and several times that he was intending to contact me. I was never contacted. My stay received a blackeye on it because of this lack of customer service of management. I was promised an email; I never received an email; I was promised a call; I never received a call. My only contact was from staff telling me that this manager, Johnathan, was going to contact me. He never delivered. As far as their model/mantra/motto being to make someone happy, I am not happy and was not happy. Truly Hampton Inn's manager Johnathan has this motto more as a slogan then as something that he lives by. I do not believe that this is the vision of the Hilton brand. I am very disappointed. Thank you again, Tierra. You are a credit to Hilton.

stayed at the Hilton in Alpharetta for a work trip and overall had a solid experience with just a…read morefew areas that could use improvement. I arrived late--as usual--and check-in went smoothly. The front desk agent was extremely polite and helpful. I asked for a plastic key (I always do this as a backup in case the app fails), and while she was processing it, another employee (Not front desk maybe engineering are maintenance) chimed in to say I didn't need to visit the desk if I checked in on the app. I had literally just explained why I came down, so that felt a bit dismissive. Either way, I got my keys (she gave me two) and headed up. My Hilton Gold status wasn't acknowledged--not a big deal, but it's usually part of the routine. My room was on the 7th floor and looked great. Just inside the door was a Cuisinart coffee maker (dual-cup), a small refrigerator with two complimentary water bottles, and a low countertop with two drawers. Between the coffee area and the closet was a wall mirror. The closet itself had hangers, an ironing board, iron, and a safe. At the top of the closet, there was what looked like a concealed compartment--unclear what it's for, but it stood out. The bedroom had a wall-mounted TV above a second set of drawers with an ice bucket and glasses, a desk with a non-rolling alligator print chair (surprisingly stylish), and a plush armchair with a side table and lamp. Bedside setup included two lamps, an alarm clock, and a limited number of USB ports and plugs. Outlets were scarce overall--one near the coffee maker (but half-blocked), and one in the hallway. Another not positive note is they have no free coffee so you can't get a cup of coffee without paying for it and that is the first time I've encountered that at any Hilton anywhere. The bathroom was clean, with a glass shower, lighted mirror, and a built-in nightlight (which I always appreciate). Towels were average--not luxury, but not thin or scratchy. A hair dryer was provided. The door had a solid privacy guard at the bottom. I didn't have much of a view at night, but the room felt comfortable and well-kept. Breakfast was a bit of a mixed bag. The staff was great--super friendly and welcoming--but the food didn't impress. The bacon was practically inedible, hard like plastic. Pork sausage links were decent, and the Gouda cheese grits were flavorful but salty. Pre-made waffles were good. There were the usual extras like breads, pastries, and fruit, but overall it didn't feel like a standout Hilton breakfast. I didn't go back after that for the rest of my stay. The snack shop by the front desk could use serious attention. It was heavily stocked with healthy options that didn't seem to be selling, while candy and chocolate were gone almost immediately. I had a late night chocolate craving and came up empty-handed--only ice cream was available. On top of that, they sell glass Coke bottles that require a bottle opener, but there's none in the room or the shop. I had to go back to the front desk and ask the guy to use the one he carries in his pocket. That shouldn't be how it works--either include a bottle opener in the room or offer one with the purchase. I didn't request housekeeping during my stay, but I liked that they left a card on my door letting me know I could reach out by 2 PM if I needed anything. That's a nice, considerate touch I haven't seen at other Hiltons. Parking is mostly in the rear. There are Diamond and handicap spots up front, but for most guests, you'll need to walk a bit either to the front entrance or the side door--even from the closest spot in the main lot. Each evening, the hotel had a lively vibe. The bar and patio areas had groups hanging out, enjoying drinks and conversation. It seems like a fun place to stay if you're here for leisure. I was just in town for work, so I didn't get to take advantage of it--and I never even saw the pool (if they have one). The night staff were friendly and attentive every time I passed through the lobby. Overall, the hotel is clean, the staff is great, and the room was comfortable. Just a few tweaks--better breakfast execution, a stocked snack shop, and accessible bottle openers--would elevate the stay. On a side note I had to sign into the Wi-Fi on my cell phone and my laptop every single day of my trip At other Hiltons I stay signed in the entire time I'm there or maybe after 5 days it resets could you have your IT people adjust that setting please It's a pain when you're behind a VPN for work

The first thing that stood out was the housekeeping staff. They were absolutely fantastic. They serviced our room every day, always made sure we had fresh towels, and paid attention to the little details. They were easily the best part of our stay. Everyone we interacted with was friendly as well. The beds were incredibly comfortable--I slept great every night. The shower was another highlight, with fantastic water pressure and two different showerheads that we both loved. If you're into fitness, one unique feature is that every room has its own exercise equipment, and the hotel also has an excellent gym. There's also a bar on-site if you'd like to grab a drink. As you walk into the lobby, there's infused water available, which is a really nice touch. Unfortunately, about 95% of the time there were no cups, and many times when we returned there wasn't anyone at the front desk to ask for one. The water looked refreshing, but it was usually unusable. Our first room had sticky carpet and floors--sticky enough that after walking around barefoot, the washcloth I used to wipe off my feet came away dirty. The mood lighting didn't work, and one of the bedside lamps had a burnt-out bulb. Because of the sticky floors, I requested a different room, and to the hotel's credit, the front desk moved us without any hassle. The second room was definitely cleaner, but after a couple of days we realized the carpet in that room was sticky too. The bathroom door also seemed to be slightly too large for the frame. It took both hands to force it closed and then practically wrestle it back open. The gym was excellent and one of the better hotel gyms I've seen. However, the first-floor women's restroom was out of service for our entire stay. So, if you're someone who drinks a lot of water during a workout, just know you'll have to head back to your room if nature calls. The ice machine on our floor was also broken more often than it worked, so we usually had to go to another floor for ice. One thing that concerned me was coming back around midnight or 1:00 a.m. several nights and finding nobody at the front desk. Sometimes the entrance doors were locked, sometimes they weren't, and with no staff visible, it didn't feel particularly secure. Also worth mentioning: there is no pool. If you're visiting Georgia in the summer, that's something you'll probably want to know before booking. The elevators were generally fine, but every now and then they seemed to take longer than they should have, leaving us waiting more than expected. The hotel does offer breakfast for purchase, but with Avalon just minutes away, you'll probably find better options there. And ladies, here's my public service announcement: if you're traveling with your significant other and would prefer not to conduct certain bathroom business in the same room they're sleeping in... you're out of luck. The only women's restroom outside the guest rooms--the one on the first floor--was out of service for our entire stay, so there was nowhere to make a discreet escape. Overall, there were definitely things we liked: the location, the comfortable beds, the excellent shower, the fitness amenities, the on-site bar, and especially the outstanding housekeeping staff. Unfortunately, the sticky floors in two different rooms, maintenance issues, lack of a pool, out-of-service restroom, inconsistent lobby staffing, and other small frustrations added up. We'd probably choose a different hotel next time, but if those issues were addressed, we'd happily give it another chance.

The property itself is beautiful, and check-in was smooth. The front desk representative who checked us in initially was friendly and professional. We were assigned Room 414, which initially seemed comfortable and well appointed. That all changed around 2:00 am, when a wall recessed alarm inside the room suddenly went off at a volume comparable to a fire alarm. It was loud, jarring, and immediately woke us up in a state of panic. We called the front desk immediately and were told this happens occasionally, there was no life safety concerns, and we did not need to vacate the property. The representative said she would reset the room by cutting and restoring power, which she noted sometimes resolved the issue. What was truly surprising (the alarm itself aside), was how familiar the representative was with the problem; this made it clear this wasn't the first time it had occurred. Unfortunately, the reset did not work. About 20 minutes later, after we had settled back into bed, the alarm went off again. When we called the front desk back, we were told our only options were for them to turn off the power to the room for the remainder of the night or move to another room for what would have only been a few remaining hours of sleep. Turning off the power wasn't an ideal option because my husband's medical sleep device requires continuous power, and after being jolted awake multiple times, relocating in the middle of the night felt like another unnecessary disruption. I understand that systems fail and unexpected mechanical issues can happen. However, because it was clear this was a known, recurring issue, it felt like a missed opportunity to address a maintenance problem before placing a guest in that room. Being repeatedly awakened by a blaring alarm is not a minor inconvenience, especially when is avoidable. As a Hilton Honors member who stays at Hilton properties frequently, I found this experience especially disappointing. The response felt reactive rather than proactive and did not mirror the level of service either one of us had come to expect from the Hilton brand (especially a Curio Collection property). The Hamilton is a beautiful hotel in a prime location, but a hotel stay ultimately comes down to comfort and rest. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here, hopefully this feedback helps prevent similar experiences for future guests.

Additionally, handicap parking was likely the minimum the local municipality required at the time of construction. Granted we checked in later, around 8:00 pm; however, the few handicap spaces near the front were all taken along with almost all of the regular parking spaces. I had to end up leaving my mother (who resides full time in a memory care facility) alone in the lobby while I attempted to find a parking space which ended up being in the rear of the property.
