It was a nice stay. Nothing spectacular, but it did the job. Stayed here recently for three nights as Wifey graduated from USA. Once a Jag, always a Jag. Anyway. Good downtown location. Plenty to see, do and eat within walking distance. Dauphin St is a block over and has all manner of good eats and drinks. Parking is in their private lot. It's gated, so you either have to grab a ticket when you check in or use your passkey on the Hilton app. Comp breakfast from 0600-1000. Not great, but hey, it's filling. Eggs, potatoes, either bacon or sausage, waffles, grits, bagels, cereal, yogurt. Coffee, tea, juices. It will save you the money on at least one meal per day. Rooms were decent. Clean and spacious. I am 100% certain if I'm in Mobile again I will stay at the Hampton Inn. It's conveniently located downtown, parking is easy to access, the breakfast bar is great and the staff are super helpful. Free wifi, comfortable rooms and plenty of space. This is a winner property. If you are a marathon runner, read on: You should DEFINITELY stay here. They open the breakfast area early so you can eat and - ahem - process your food well before race start. They don't allow late checkouts, but they do provide TWO shower rooms for you to come back and clean up before leaving town. I've never seen that anywhere, and we've done more than 100 races around the country. So thankful!!! read more

Would recommend this hotel to anyone. We ran into car issues while traveling to Florida and decided to stay here. Lindsey checked me in, and she was amazing. So helpful and kind to me in, in my stressed out state of mind. She helped me find rental car places, find food in the area and delivery, a late check out and everything. Every staff person we interacted with was kind and helpful. We plan on staying here on our way back home to Texas and any other endeavors in Alabama. The room was great, clean and cozy. In the past I've stayed at the competitor down the street but choose to try Hampton instead. This hotel is lovely and was perfect for our stay. We opted for a suite giving us a bit of room to spread out. Coming from a design background I appreciated the attention to detail in the colors and finished. Everyone we met with the exception of a late night check in clerk were so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was hot and fresh. Self parking was so easy for a downtown location. Staff were all friendly and accommodating, room was Clean enough (floors were slippery from whatever they had used to mop although they were dry, fridge didn't work) Otherwise slept great and staff were excellent! So this Hampton Inn is a bit of an anomaly. I'm not sure if this was built as a Hilton property or if it was a major refurbishment of an existing hotel. The first floor lobby and breakfast area resembled something much more akin to a high end chain. It was impressive. The furnishings, decor, and public areas were very attractive and comfortable. Right off the seating area, was the outdoor pool complete with gas lights and a wall fountain. It had a courtyard kind of feel, that fit the historical character of this town. We opted for the one bedroom king suite. The curved balcony was huge and had two separate seating areas but frankly could have accommodated a boatload of other chairs. The lodging was super spacious but suffered from what other moderate chains often have problems with - adequately filling the spaces with more useful furniture and covering the bare walls with more decor. With the super inexpensive photo canvas products available, you could easily add some life to the empty spots with local scenes and people. The couch was too small. A recliner and more end tables would have made the suite more guest friendly and comfortable. We chose bigger accommodations because we were expecting inclement weather and anticipated spending more time in our room than usual. The bathroom was a bust. The super shallow tub and toilet were crammed in a tiny room, while the vanity sat in a palatial separate space. Just not good use of real estate here, and no enjoyment taking a shower in what resembled a tiny closet. So in the end, I don't know if we would stay here again. It definitely wasn't priced like a usual Hampton Inn. So maybe if it offered a bargain rate? read more

Beautiful hotel! Friendly staff. The historic district is very nice and I love the flowers around the hotel. Totally updated and very clean. There are places around the hotel where you can have a meal or listen to live music. They have a hot breakfast with lots of choices and a little market where you can grab snacks --and they have Blue Bell Ice Cream! A welcome snack after traveling. One thing that could be improved is more sensitivity for service animals. The kitchen staff appeared uncomfortable when I went for breakfast despite being advised by the front desk that I could get breakfast with my service dog. Not a dealbreaker because it was quickly resolved by the staff. read more

I booked the room on Booking.com 20 minutes before showing up and when I walked in I was greeted with a very warm hello and welcome. Great rooms, great location, very good coffee shops and restaurants, within walking distance of the hotel. They do charge $9 a night for parking, found that odd with the room being $129 a night. My husband was driving her back from an internship in Dallas to Tampa and Mobile was a good midway stop. Air filter for A/C and heater was not changed, not only in my room but in my friends as well. Walls in room were dirty, stain on carpet in my friends room looked like blood, furniture was old and outdated/not comfortable, towels were not soft, ironing board had no padding, fridge was barely cold after setting the temperature to the highest setting. We enjoyed our one-night stay the before leaving for a cruise -- clean rooms, friendly staff, free breakfast & coffee, free WiFi, small fitness room with basic equipment. The hotel is also within walking distance from the port (so convenient), which meant we could just pack up and walk over when we were ready to check-in for our cruise. We arrived late the night prior and enjoyed recommendations from the staff on where to eat. This location is also close to museums and historic buildings. The bed was very comfortable and the room was extremely spacious. We stayed in a studio suite as this had a full bathtub, fridge/ sink/ counter, couch, and was priced reasonably. read more

I cannot say enough about this hotel and its staff! I stayed here for 4 nights while evacuating Florida due to hurricane Irma. Every single person we had any sort of contact with made us feel welcomed and found a way to make our days a little better. From checking in to housekeeping, every single employee at this hotel was an absolute delight. Maybe it's Southern hospitality, maybe it's a sign of fantastic management hiring great employees. Nice place kinda nice view of the freeway and water but the parking is sketchy af we had to park in the very back with no lights weirdos walking around everywhere. The beds claim to be queen but only my 5'2 petite self could fit comfortably and my husband who's also pretty skinny had to sleep on the other bed. The beds are most likely twin XL so if you're looking for somewhere to stay with your SO pick somewhere else where the beds are ACTUALLY queen size. Oh yeah and free breakfast ended early bc there was "no food left". It started at 6 and you're telling me at 6:30 there was no food? Our only complaints was the hotel room window did not have blinds that blocked out all the light and the smoking section is 3 feet from the entrance where you load/unload your car. read more

I travel a lot with my job and stay at many places and the Hampton Inn Downtown Mobile is by far my favorite. The rooms are always spotless and the newly renovated rooms have a nice inviting feeling. The hospitality and service you get there is top notch. From the time you check in to the time you check out the staff is always making sure that you stay is relaxing. When I come to Mobile, which is at least 2 times a month, I always stay here if there is a room available. The breakfast has never let me down either and the variety to chose from is pretty impressive. The waffles are my go to because they are so good. It is located within walking distance to get a nice dinner and have some drinks. I love this place. read more

The most amazing kindness and customer service I have every received from a staff - I didn't even end up staying there but they authentically cared about their potential customers. I had originally booked an Airbnb for my month stay here in Mobile, but when I arrived it was not what I had expected and had to leave. I got to Hampton Inn & Suites nearly in tears and staff members: Mark, Robert, and Stephanie turned my night around. They helped me find bookings in their sister hotel Candlewood Suites (which was more in my price range) and have me on their waitlist for the following week when everywhere else is booked. Moreover, they made me a small care package with a few sweets to lift my spirits. If I ever have a choice to stay anywhere it will be at this Hampton Inn & Suites. Newer hotel thats welcoming and clean. It's connected to a Jimmy Johns and next to tons of restraunts. Very convenient if your staying for awhile. They include breakfast so you won't have to go far if you like pre-made omelets, sausage, yogurt, cereal, fruit, etc. but kids will love it. The rooms are nice and the beds are very comfortable plus they have a 24 hr fitness center that has a lot of room with dumbells and cardio equip. They also offer free disposable headphones if you can get them to restock. The swimming pool is small but it works during those AL summers! Parking is extra and make sure you ask to stay in the main lot so you don't have to cross the street into the parking garage. read more

I've been staying here for the past three weeks for work, and it does start to feel like a home away from home after a while. The staff has always been friendly and accomodating, particularly those tending to the complimentary breakfast in the morning. The saltwater pool is really lovely, always clean and inviting. If you do stay here, get a room with a balcony- I don't have one and I really wish I did as I'm on the 7th floor and have to go down to the lobby to smoke which suuucks. I really love the location - there's a Quizno's attached to the lobby which is convenient on the days you don't feel like urban-foraging for food, and a lovely local coffee shop across the street. Veet's is a great dive bar just next door with a friendly staff, cheap beers and a pool table and the Royal Scam the next door down is probably my favorite restaurant in Mobile, cost and menu considering. You're also just walking distance from Dauphin Street which has a lot of fun bars, clubs and restaurants on the weekends. The breakfast bar really gets old after a while... but I guess anything does after three weeks of pretty much the same stuff. Don't forget your toiletries and medicines though as the sundries shop is HEINOUSLY overpriced ($3 for ONE tablet of pepcid AC, I almost fell over in shock) read more

After driving 5 hours, my daughter and I arrived at the roach motel, LaQuinta Inn Mobile at 816 W I-65. At 10:30pm, I needed a place to park and stay for my cruise the next morning. This place was my savior! THANK YOU!! It smelled wonderful and was quiet! The staff was excellent and knew who I was when I walked in from calling just before. The young lady at the front desk even gave nail salon recommendations, upon inquiry. If I'm ever in Mobile, I'm staying here, without hesitation!! I made a reservation via Expedia for this hotel for the night of Dec 7 because of a new project in Mobile. My client developed a conflict, so I called to cancel the reservation a full 24-hrs in advance. Expedia called the hotel to cancel and the hotel General Manager would not agree to a refund!!! IN 40 YEARS of often heavy business travel, I have never had this happen to me. I am still shocked after two weeks. (I also called my Hilton Honors rep and he could not help me, as I made my reservations through Expedia. I understood that. Shame on me. No more Expedia in my future.) I am headed back to Mobile today but this hotel will never see a dime of my money. I may be staying in Mobile a lot over the next year but I will not be gracing this hotels doorway. read more

Went to Mobile for the Robert Earl Keen show at the Saenger Theater. Stayed here one night. Wow! Very impressed. Very short walk to the theater from the hotel. Pleasant area of town. Seems kind of like New Orleans "Light." The hotel was clean and appeared mostly new. We enjoyed the continental breakfast that included make them yourself waffles. Excellent value, perfect location for a concert or show at the theater. Staff was friendly, parking was easy. We will look for more opportunities to catch shows at the Saenger Theatre and stay at the Hampton Inn. read more

It is a hotel in down town mobile. And at that it is a Hampton in and suites. Ok yes you have to pay to park. Imagine that. Your in down town mobile. Real-estate is not easy to come by. So the rooms are as expected. A bed bathroom and small desk. If you have Hilton honors status you could get upgraded to a suite. Larger room and has a small couch. They have breakfast in the morning nothing special. Fruit, hot stuff, etc it isn't the best but I don't expect it to be. The wait staff is very friendly helpful and always smiling. read more

There was a woman working the desk the night we got in and the morning we left-- I think her name was Linesay?-- and despite working so much, she was super friendly and inviting. The lobby is large and sparkling clean with nice decor. Our room was large, spotless and richly furnished, the bathroom was spacious and clean and the bed was super comfortable. It wasn't cheap but I was bale to get a discounted rate. The hotel is also located right in the middle of downtown Mobile, so it's great if you want to walk around the city. The hotel also offers free wifi and a hot breakfast with a waffle maker, maple sausage, western omelets and a selection of donuts/muffins/bagels/etc., as well as juice and coffee. Very nice stay here. The hotel is located downtown in the historic district. The parking is limited to hotel guest and there is a $15 parking fee. Because it's downtown, that's understandable. My room was very nice. Two queen beds that slept very well. The four soft pillows were a plus as well. The front desk made a great recommendation for dinner, The Scam Room. My room also has a balcony and I have a nice view of the city. If I come back to Mobile, I will stay here again. read more
