Here for the quilt retreat - two days of wild quilting!
    Kathleen M.

This Hampton Inn is five stars in comparison with all the other Hampton Inns I have stayed in! It was the best and this is my preferred chain so I have stayed in lots. First of all it only opened in August so it is so brand new clean, just fabulous! But it is running like it has been there forever. Everything was just perfect. When I booked the room the Thursday night was not listed as being part of the Quilt group of rooms but they said they would find out and they did. When I checked in, I had the group rate for both nights. In addition, the manager sought out our group to find out if there was anything else we needed or wanted. The conference room was terrific for comfort and lighting. Breakfast was their normal breakfast with amazingly friendly staff. Maybe I am just still in the afterglow of my quilt retreat high, but this was a superb Hampton Inn!

This hotel was near perfect and I could see why it's Michelin rated…read more I don't usually stay in boutique hotels but when looking at the nearby major chains, they didn't look appealing. The room was clean and had a rustic modern feel. When the carpet is beige, you know they have to take care of it consistently. Everything had a plush feel. The shower had a rainfall showerhead and a handheld. There's a scent that emanates throughout the hotel and into your room. It's light and adds to the ambiance. It's also in the sheets and linen too. I guess that adds to one of the negatives I list later in that the HVAC seems to be centrally controlled. There was some very minor debris in the sink that may have been left from wiping of a dirty rag, but that was mostly it. Gym was nice and parking was plentiful and free. What I didn't like: - Mini fridge in the room had a lot of snacks and other drinks that I assume were for sale. I usually pack my own food, so those items took up some space in the fridge - I get cold easily, so I try to adjust the thermostat, but it's centrally controlled, which I've never seen... I'm assuming all of the rooms are regulated in this way... - Breakfast bar- had bare minimal which I really don't mind. I really wouldn't expect a place like this to serve you breakfast unless it was full service. Would definitely come back

Also has a mini bar in the room. Only negative point is there was no refrigerator or microwave. Great restaurant located just off the lobby for a fine dining experience. Does not have full breakfast but does have grab and go muffins, fruit, coffee, etc. They also have a rooftop bar where one can sit inside or outside. Full bar with good bartenders. Menu is limited but still plenty to choose from. We had an order of mussels and a charcuterie tray. Both were very good. Our bartender was Colton and he took good care of us.

Discriminated Against for Traveling with ADA Service Dogs…read more I stayed at Home2 Suites Beloit, WI with my two trained service dogs (each under 5 lbs, task-trained to assist me with a documented disability). My experience was deeply upsetting and discriminatory. Check-In & Front Desk: * Told I would have to pay a pet fee, despite ADA protection for service animals * Asked questions far beyond the two allowed under ADA * Front desk staff and manager were dismissive and accusatory, speaking in front of other guests * No meaningful apology was offered even after explaining my legal rights Post-Stay Harassment: * Owner/manager Roy Ward called me personally and screamed over the phone * Call was hostile and intimidating; I have a recording for my records Review Removal & Retaliation: * I initially posted a review under an alias to protect my privacy * Hotel had it removed, claiming "no record of that guest staying here" * I know the hotel knows which guest wrote the review Summary of Discrimination: * Illegal pet fee attempt for ADA service dogs * Excessive questioning beyond ADA limits * Dismissive and accusatory treatment in public * No meaningful apology * Post-stay harassment via phone from owner/manager * Attempted erasure of my review under an alias This experience was humiliating, stressful, and a clear violation of the ADA. Future guests with service animals should not face the same discrimination.

I'm writing four reviews that compare them all to one another. All four reviews have the same opening two paragraphs, and then a paragraph specific to each hotel. Night 1 was the Drury Plaza Hotel in Milwaukee - which ranked #1 of the 4, and grades out as an "A". Exceptional staff, free parking, and a nice breakfast. Night 2 was Home2Suites in Beloit - which ranked #3 of the 4, and would grade out as a C. Night 3 was the Hampton Inn & Suites Madison East Towne Mall Area in Madison, which was #2 of the 4, and grades out as an B-. Night 4 was the Wilderness Lodge in Wisconsin Dells, which ranked #4 of the four, and grades out as a D. We arrive around 4pm and check in was a breeze. Lobby is nice and staff were efficient, though not overly warm or welcoming. Our room smelled terrible. We got used to it, but it was the smell of something bad happening, and then a heck of a lot of cleaning to make the bad thing go away, only to have some of the cleaning and some of the bad linger and mingle together. I wanted to change rooms, but my group is not one for making a scene so we stuck with it. Beds were comfy though there were no outlets near my side of the bed, which seems like hotel 101. Bathroom was okay. Breakfast was decent, though the seating area was small. It was a decent enough stay, but when I compare all four (which were all similarly priced) this one felt less like we got what we paid for. It's okay.

So, I booked it at a special rate for Beloit college families. I was very pleased. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. I asked for a quitet room. They put me on the second floor way down the hall. It was perfect. Very quiet. Also very convenient to the side door entrance right off the parking lot. Didn't eat the food as we were busy and it didn't seem too amazing, basic breakast food. There are lots of places to eat within walking distance. The room was clean and most importantly the sheets felt very clean and cozy. It's a basic room at an affordable price. It is a bit dated but clean. Wi Fi was spotty as usual in most hotels like this. It worked most of the time though. I will definitely stay here again when I come to Beloit to visit my son.

The shower screamed when it was on during our entire stay. The carpet is folding and coming up. The television didn't work. The free wifi was difficult to sign in to and would kick you off at random intervals. When any issues arose no one would answer the phone at the desk. When we went to the desk the only desk person of any help was a tall young lady who worked in the morning. The night auditors slept during their shift. One of the auditors absolutely would not help with anything. The more mature night auditor swore at me twice, one time after I said good morning. The final straw is that when I had a cardiac issue and had to come to the hospital possibly dying they decided to evict my wife. So my wife who was worried about whether her husband would live or die was told by an old gentlemen (no nametag, no employees had nametags) who refused to give his name. I am writing this review from the cardiac unit at Beloit memorial hospital. To advise people not to stay here is insufficient. The behavior of this business is beyond the pale.
