I stayed at another hotel last time I was in Beloit and didn't love it so I thought I would try another. There are not many great options but this seemed like a step up. So, I booked it at a special rate for Beloit college families. I was very pleased. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. I asked for a quitet room. They put me on the second floor way down the hall. It was perfect. Very quiet. Also very convenient to the side door entrance right off the parking lot. Didn't eat the food as we were busy and it didn't seem too amazing, basic breakast food. There are lots of places to eat within walking distance. The room was clean and most importantly the sheets felt very clean and cozy. It's a basic room at an affordable price. It is a bit dated but clean. Wi Fi was spotty as usual in most hotels like this. It worked most of the time though. I will definitely stay here again when I come to Beloit to visit my son. read more

We stayed here just for the night We have really nice room but the shower rod is coming off the wall like somebody actually hung on it and broke it The toilet paper holder is broken The fan and the restroom does not work there is no hot tub just a pool so that was very disappointing I think our next day will be at the location in Janesville Wisconsin because at least I know they have indoor water park The price was very expensive just for the night and it's definitely not worth the $300 that we were charged. read more

I live out of state and have family in the rockton area. The hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly, the breakfast is good and there is a large shopping center right across the street. I DID notice my debit card was charged an incidental fee (50$) after I checked out . This happened twice, I caught it the second time and phoned the hotel the staff was happy to help reverse the charge. read more

Very Poor customer service. Just be careful if you stay here. It looks like a nice place but it is not. Out trailer got broken into there. The girl at the front desk adjusted our price but after we left charged us the full price. I called Britney the Mgr. That told me no discount and after I told her that I would leave this review hung up on me. So you have been warned if you stay here. We did make a police report. Plus our trailer was out front under the lights. So sad. Don't tell me you are going to discount my room then charge me the full price after I leave. That is so wrong.​ read more

Pretty lame that this hotel didn't offer a "grab & go" breakfast like any other hotel that I've stayed at during COVID. Also, the windows in the hotel were filthy. The bathroom didn't have body wash in it. Instead, there were multiple shampoos. On a positive note, the staff was friendly & the hotel was nice. read more

The holiday inn express was great in terms of cleanliness and comfort in the room. The reception front desk person was very kind. Met my expectations from what I know of the holiday inn express. But, the lady running the breakfast service should not be in a people business. She was rude, very unapproachable l, doesn't understand service, unprofessional in her look, and not meant to be serving people at all. She should be fired immediately as she is hurting the holiday inn express reputation. She said there were only Turkey sausages, and that was untrue, and she was the only person serving. I asked for double amount of eggs after she gave a small amount to my wife. She didn't listen and gave me the same small amount. I cut my own bagel and put it in the toaster and she made a big deal about it, and told me to get out and closed the breakfast door area at 9:30 am and the breakfast period ends at 10 am. I stayed at this Holiday Inn for a weekend. Overall this was a nice hotel and I would stay there again if in the area. Pros: Comfortable beds (with 4 pillows/bed), clean, free wi-fi, nice toiletries, free breakfast (which was pretty solid), pool and hot tub (which are open until 1am), fitness center (very small), friendly and accommodating staff, convenient location next to freeway and Starbucks, and fast food, free parking (big lot) Cons: Fitness center could be a bit bigger (no free weights) and old machines. My tub/shower was kinda old... Obviously this is not a super high end hotel (and that's okay). This place is pretty close to perfect for what it is supposed to be. I would probably give it more like 4.5/5 stars. read more

I had to find a room in Beloit short notice last week and all of the other hotels I called were booked due to a soccer tournament in Rockford (weird). So my last resort was the Holiday Inn Express.... great. BUT. I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice it was and the amenities offered! It appears to have recently been redecorated, so it looked pretty nice in the lobby and in the room. Upon checking in, we were given two vouchers for two drinks each- beer, wine, liquor or pop- from 5-7pm that night along with a snack bar. Score! Unfortunately we had to be out during those times so we couldn't take advantage of the free drinks- boo! Breakfast the next morning was pretty typical, but it seemed to be a step above most of the continental breakfasts I've been to. The only thing knocking this hotel down a star was the slightly odd smell our room had... possibly from it being a smoking hotel at one point? Over all, very pleasantly surprised! read more

I'm a fan of Holiday Inns, generally speaking. This one was a bit below expectations. It was difficult to find a parking space. Also, I'm pretty sure that the clerk who checked me and my girlfriend in started smirking creepily when he realized we're queer. The biggest issue, though, was the curtains in the room. We were on the ground floor and the blackout curtains did not shut AT ALL. They were not long enough to move, period. We had zero privacy, had to get changed in the bathroom. Stayed here while visiting Beloit for a job interview. The employees I met were very nice, especially since I arrived after happy hour the front desk agent gave me two beers of my choice- granted the choices were Miller Lite and MGD. The room was very clean and upkept. I arrived at the breakfast buffet at 9am and they were out of everything hot expect for make your own pancakes. It's also a nice perk to get a USA Today at the door step. read more

DO NOT RENT THIS SPACE FOR A MEETING FUNCTION!! The meeting room is located in a dark, musty, windowless room back next to the pool and fitness center. The carpet is musty from the humidity from the pool area. Entry is with a Holiday Inn guest room key card. We booked the room unseen (BIG MISTAKE), over the phone and were promised that they had a/v options for us with the exception of a projector. No problem...I bought a projector and brought it onsite. I was shocked to see the size of the pop-up daylite screen that was given to us to use, very small. We were told the room had audio conferencing capabilities as well. That was another HUGE disappointment...the only phone in the room for audio was a short corded desk phone identical to the hotel room phones. No amplification options for better sound, no way to add on additional mic's so the dialers could hear better, no options at all presented by Management other than, offering us a longer cord. Highly disappointing and even more EMBARASSING for me to have executives seated in such a space and working with such useless technology. They would have been better off on an outside patio with fresh air, sunlight and the back of the building to project on! GRADE: F read more

What this place lacks in updates it more than makes up for with incidentals. I have stayed here several times and the staff is always pleasant and courteous. The rooms are small and dated but, and this is big, they have a free happy hour evenings during the week. No bar, no problem- the front desk doubles as the bar, classic! Snacks are also served. It's a H-I Express so breakfast is served every morning for free and it's quite good. You won't confuse this place with the Ritz but you will be happy. read more

It's very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was nice. The property is older, but it's completely fine for a business trip. I wouldn't recommend it for a "romantic getaway", but then why would you go to Beloit for a romantic getaway. Staff was very friendly and professional. read more

Got to the hotel and when we were trying to check in the person working the front desk it was their first night. She didn't know how to switch the payment to a different card stood at the counter for 45 minutes while she tried to figure it out. She even called her manager and she was trying to get it to work. My other card got charged for the room. This was on 09/4/20. Now today 9/8 I just got charged for it again. Not only did I get charged for the room again I got charged double of what the room rate was. This is unacceptable and will never stay at holiday inn again. I will make sure everyone I know is told about this. The manager that the front desk staff was on the phone with said she would fix it all in the morning since we got charged but it wasn't showing on their end. I even showed the lady there that we got charged. They said they would have to fix it by saying we paid cash which is funny because when we were checking in they told us we couldn't pay cash for the room rate. read more

This place was disgusting! I love Holiday Inn's, but this was beyond bad. I will start with our room. When we walked in the room stunk so bad. There were hairballs and bugs on the floor in the bathroom and the closet area where you hang your clothes. There was so much rust on the shower handle (to get out of the tub) that it was leaking onto the floor. Dust was piled high along the perimeter of the room. The carpet was 'sticky'. So gross!! And we were out of Kleenex even!! Now I will get to the worst part. The pool/hot tub both were so cloudy, it just didn't seem right. When the bubbles shut off in the hot tub, we ran for the hills because there was so much hair and particles floating around. ISH! My 10 year old niece had a shard of glass stick to her foot from the pool. We told the lady at the front desk and she said she would ask the maintenance man to vacuum it. We went back the next night to look, it did not look vacuumed at all. There were dead bugs all over the floor area of the pool. We will drive an extra half hour to the next town from now on to find a more decent hotel. I will say, every single employee that we dealt with was amazing, so that helped immensely. But it sure was the grossest stay I have ever experienced at a hotel in my life! And lastly, we paid a FORTUNE! NOT COOL!!!!! I do not understand how anyone could give this place any stars. Great hotel! Way better than the neighboring Comfort Inn. And the Holiday Inn Express offers free manager's reception and 2 alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks. Great breakfeast too, make your own pancakes and also hot food items: scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy. Lobby, food area and pool/workout room is very modern. Rooms are very nice as well but the TVs could use some updating. And you cant beat fridge and microwave in all rooms! The people staying at the hotel and the people working there were all very nice and polite and helpful. Reasonably priced as well. read more

Great staff. They were very friendly and helpful. This hotel does not have a restaurant or bar so I was quite surprised when we received free drink tickets during check-in. They have a Happy Hour every evening with free snacks and free drinks. The check-in desk doubles as the bar! the person we served us definitely was NOT light-handed! Free breakfast+free happy hour+great customer service made up for the rooms that could have used a little updating. But they were clean and comfortable, which was more important. read more

I've stayed in gorgeous hotels, and while this isn't a 5 star hotel, I have nothing to complain about. From the 1st person I spoke to on the phone, to the last person checking out, they were all so incredibly nice and helpful! Rooms were clean, coffee, microwave, and fridge privided, and beds and pillows comfy! The breakfast was great with lots of hot and cold choices, and I was unaware of the happy hour from 5--7 with snacks and 2 free drinks per person! That was a nice surprise. If I'm ever in Beloit again, this is where I'm staying. read more
