Bed Bugs! We heard someone else complaining also. Management lies about it. Don't say you weren't warned!!

WARNING: I would rather sleep in my car than stay at the Hampton Inn in Christiansburg/Blacksburg,…read moreVirginia! I've been a Hilton Honors member for 15+ years and have always had positive experiences, until this stay. A family emergency forced me to shorten my reservation from two nights to one. When I explained this at check‑in, the front desk clerk refused to adjust the stay and said no manager was available. Hilton Honors customer care couldn't help without management involvement. The next morning, the general manager Andrew Crowder said he'd "look into it," but when I returned to drop off my room keys and check out, he was gone and I had to deal again with the same rude clerk. She claimed the system wouldn't allow her to check me out and refused to provide any documentation of my departure. When I pressed for a simple written acknowledgment, she became hostile, told me to leave the property, and even threatened to call the police. As someone with a background in auditing, accounting, and internal controls, I found the hotel's alleged inability, or refusal, to record an accurate checkout date alarming. Inaccurate hotel guest stay records, whether accidental or intentional, can distort financial reporting and key metrics, undermine operational integrity, signal weaknesses in internal controls and indicate potential improprieties. Because the hotel did not process my checkout on the date I actually departed, the system does not reflect my true stay. When I later followed up regarding the refund and the treatment I received, management stated they would not issue a refund because I "pressed the clerk" for documentation. In my opinion, this response demonstrates a lack of commitment to guest service and a concerning disregard for the operational implications of their system limitations. There are numerous other hotels in the area. If you need accommodations in the Blacksburg/Christiansburg, Virginia area, I strongly recommend choosing a property that values professionalism, accurate record‑keeping, and basic guest courtesy--qualities that this Hampton Inn failed to demonstrate.

My entire stay, I felt valued, safe, and overall completely taken care of. I don't think I could have landed anywhere better. I was able to successfully graduate and move away, and I have no doubts the Home2 staff contributed heavily to my success. I can reassure that Home2 is the preferred hotel for this Hokie. I'll never forget my extended stay here.

Gotta give a shout out to this hotel for their school spirit. We came for graduation week. The…read morerates at these chain hotels skyrocket to 4x the regular rates. Picture paying Four Season prices for a standard room at a residential type hotel. The big plus was the full kitchen: full size fridge, dishwasher, real kitchen utensils and a full sink. The bad: sofa bed sheets had not been changed for decades. This brand hotel doesn't clean rooms every day, it's every other day.... Or in the case of the sofa bed... well decades. We had a guest stay with us on our last of the 4 days. The sheets on the bed felt weird almost like a thin sheet of nylon. Again, this is not the Four Seasons but.... Staff were super friendly. We requested new towels and sheets(for the sofa bed) when we saw the staff in the hallway. This brand serves a complimentary breakfast. Most people seemed to enjoy it. I like that they have hot coffee and tea available in the lobby and it's free. Four stars is generous but it's because of school spirit and lots of available amenities.

Arrived at midnight (called…read morehours earlier to let staff know of anticipated late arrival) No staff was in lobby for approx 20 minutes, while multiple guests waited to check in. Called hotel multiple times for assistance and did not get an answer-finally called main TRU number and check in staff arrived. Staff had issues with computer- Unable to locate reservation by name then was able to locate with confirmation number. Given keys to room- and when we opened the door someone was occupied in the room sleeping- and were startled awake. This has never happened in all of our hotel stays. We, along with the poor guest who got woken up were given poor excuses for the mishap. Both of us had long travel days with not much sleep. In the morning all the manger did was say "Sorry"- they said they were not able to discount or refund money spent on the hotel Will not ever stay at a TRU again

The walls are thin and we could hear snoring coming from a room next to us as well as loud packing early in the morning that woke us up. The reception was decent but they didn't seem to put much effort into making us feel welcome or getting us into a room even though we were just 30 minutes early to check in and the app showed at least 12 rooms that were ready.
