We usually always book at a Hampton Inn. This one one was closest to our kids who live in Central, SC. Of course, when we came in the temperature was set at 68 degrees, we immediately changed it too heat--too cold for us from Florida. Room was great, bathroom good, HOT breakfast also very good. The coffee was a little weak for our liking, but we always bring a small cof pot of our own with cof just in case. It is situated very close to a railroad track, which was very loud, at times. We were on the 3rd floor and there was an incident on one of our nights, that 3 vehicles were in the parking lot playing very loud music at 6 am. My husband said that they had their headlights on at 4am when he got up to go to the bathroom. I guess because it's a college town. We probably will not stay at that particular Hampton Inn again read more

I've stayed at many Hampton Inns around the country, and this location was just very average. When we arrived, a college team was crowding the lobby, which made check-in feel a bit chaotic. The staff was friendly and the room was fine, but nothing memorable. I wouldn't choose to stay here again. read more

Weekend Trip "Go Bulldogs" In town for track meet at Clemson University. Check-in was very smooth from the phone. Bae tried to get an early check-in since we needed to get to the school to see his daughter compete. They weren't able to help due to a large group just leaving, but we understood. The inside was clean and very neat. The staff is professional and friendly. The room was cleaned and has no complaints. The bathroom was slightly small but worked and was clean. Now, that AC / Heat was rather tricky, we slept in all our clothes until the middle of the night. Finally figured it out and had no issues.....we were tired and did not think to call the desk...LMBO!!! Breakfast: (hot meal) fried potatoes, turkey sausage and scrambled eggs, and waffles; cold bar available, coffee, juice, and tea. This made it a 4 star, limited option in the area for good breakfast quick service. They stop ON-TIME at 10am. Fitness center: small no kettle/dumb bells only weighted balls, one treadmill, elliptical, and bike. There was a cable machine. Great for a nice 1hr workout cardio day. Go TIGERS! We were there for homecoming wknd which also was Hurricane Helene and from the moment we stepped foot into the hotel to the end it was SUPERB service! Every single staff member were so friendly! Cleanliness of lobby and rooms on point! They supplied breakfast, water, snacks and hot fresh cookies every afternoon. They had power thankfully when a lot of spots in Clemson did not. They were so attentive to us and accommodating. I accidentally booked 2 hotels and couldn't cancel either. Lets just ay the "nicer more expensive" one on the water had no power, sent home ALL the staff and management and were not helpful in any way. They did not supply snacks or water. They did not have any staff walking around checking in on those who lodged in the dark. Scary walking around in the dark hallways at night trying to get to your room. They could not do laundry and didnt have enough sheets for some rooms. 100% would stay at he Hampton Inn again!!!! read more

Everything was fine, but my room was just OK - maybe just a tad bit worn and the towels were 'meh'. However, this hotel is too close to the railroad tracks for my liking. Then, when I needed a reservation, they booked a room, even though it said online they were sold out. Experience with front desk, breakfast crew and housekeeping was just as outstanding. I've stayed at this Hampton Inn twice now, both times when in town to see Georgia Tech play Clemson in baseball. It's on the edge of the town, but the town is so small that it's still quite close to everything ($6 cab ride for those of you headed to the downtown bars). The staff is hospitable, though not always terribly helpful. There was only one person checking in at 6:30 on a Friday, which seems like prime check-in time to me. Additionally, when we called to get a taxi for Saturday night, they provided 2 numbers (rather than calling one for us) and both of those numbers were no longer valid. The breakfast was your standard Hampton Inn fare, though I always seemed to be bumping into people based on the way it was arranged. The rooms are nicely appointed, with dark wood paneling along the other wall to contain the closet and desk set-up, and flat-screen TV's. They're in the process of renovating their guest bathrooms. The air was set at 68 and consequently was always running the entire weekend. The good about that is you're not startled awake in the middle of the night when it cuts on or off, but then again, it's always making noise. Free wi-fi with your stay, though not the strongest signal (particularly dependent on your location in the building). I stayed at the Hampton Inn Clemson on September 1 with my wife to visit my daughter. Being a diamond member, I booked the room through their app and paid with accrued points. When the app asked for my credit card for a deposit, I thought it seemed off but proceeded anyway. Long story short, I was charged full price for the room and talking with the General Manager, Kimberly Kessinger and the "help" desk, there was no resolution to be able to switch my stay to points. Some of the highlights of my conversation with Kimberly were: * -Her hotel "needed the money, not the points" * -If I were to stay in two weeks, "that same room would cost $700" (completely irrelevant to my stay) * -As Kimberly argued with me in front of customers in her lobby, she reinforced that I should have "read the details of the email and this wouldn't have been an issue" * -When I told her I wouldn't be staying at her hotel anymore, she wondered "why I was taking out the mistake on her hotel" * -Furthermore- when I called the help desk- I was told there is "often glitches when people try to book on the app" as "this isn't the first time I've heard about this." In what seems to be a very simple request to change the billing to the points as I had requested- Hilton will be losing a loyal customer. read more

Cozy and comfortable, but somewhat understaffed. I literally waited 15 minutes to check-in, which made me pretty grumpy, since I'd been driving for 4 hours and hadn't stopped to eat. I wanted food, dammit! Their hot breakfast was pretty underwhelming. I'm not a meat-eater, so I didn't exactly appreciate that the only eggs they had were all mushed in with ten pounds of ham, but the rest of the offerings were about par for the course. Normally I seek out Hampton Inns because they are usually pretty decent and have breakfast. It turns out, I had a Hilton HHonors AmEx gift card for $50, too, which is supposedly honored by the H.I. since they are a Hilton entity. I first checked in to the Seneca, SC hotel, but they called Clemson and found out they had a cancellation. So we moved. However, the Seneca H.I. people had already "authorized" my gift card, rendering it useless in Clemson. Only I didn't find this out until I looked at my AmEx bill 4 days later. (Clemson H.I. had emailed me four very confusing receipts, so I had no idea what was going on.) Both hotels had never seen an Hilton HHonors gift card before, and were perplexed about how to use it, incidentally. I called Clemson H.I. for an explanation of the overcharge, since they had led me to believe the rate included the $50 discount. (Note to self: always get a paper receipt when checking out!) I talked to an underling, and he basically said sorry, but I was going to have to eat the $50. I asked, what about our agreed-upon rate? He said they didn't discover the problem until I had already gone, so sorry, but oh well! I replied, isn't it worth it to you to want me to come back to your hotel as a satisfied customer? And just give me the measly $50 credit? He said to wait for a week for him to talk to his manager. read more

I spent 8 nights at this hotel. I booked online and chose my room. When I got to the hotel very late 12:30 p.m. due to airport weather delays, they told me the key to my room did not work and offered me the same layout on a different floor. I was told to check back the next day, which I did, only to learn they still did not get the key to work. It was my 4th day at the hotel, I came back to the room to find my door was un-latched. In other words, all someone had to do to enter my room was push the door open. I immediately called the front desk and told them how terribly upsetting it was for a woman traveling alone to find my door unlatched. Fortunately nothing was missing. The girl at the front desk offered me a discount on my stay, which I accepted. She was supposed to leave a note for the manger and for housekeeping. However, when I checked out the discount was not on my bill. I asked the desk attendant about it and she said it was her first day but she would make a note for the manager. In addition to not getting my discount and not getting a call from the manager, I was not exactly happy with the level of house keeping generally. The towel shelves were dusty as was the top of the microwave and under the TV stand. I am a Hilton Honors member and to be honest, I've always loved the brand. However, after this most recent stay at the Inn in Clemson I don't know if I will ever stay at one again. read more

This experience was an absolute train wreck. Well, at least it sounded like that every 25 minutes as the nearby train station had another train roll through. All night. My initial room with a king bed was directly across the hall from the workout room, which is just a converted hotel room with some exercise equipment in it. The door was open, and the entire area stunk like, well, a gym. On top of that, the insulation, if there is any, was completely useless, so all of the noise associated with the gym, sounded like it was in my room. I spent less than 5 minutes in that room before I asked to be moved. I was, into a room with two full size beds, wet paint, and a window blind that was broken and couldn't rolled up or down without it crashing down from its bracket. The room was ok, but this is probably more of a $80.00 a night motel, than anything else. I'm very disappointed and will not be staying at this hotel ever again. read more

I recently stayed at this Hampton Inn on Tiger Blvd while dropping off my son at Clemson University. As Always, we were greeted with a smile ! We have stayed there in the past and really enjoyed our stay for a number of reasons. I am taking the time to write this review because we need more hotels who have staff that care for their clients. I was ever so impressed with the Manager Kimberley Kessinger as she operates this Hotel as if she lived there. She is very responsive to everyones needs and concerns and I had a concern and it was addressed immediately. She not only took responsibility but she went above and beyond. This Hampton Inn I must say is friendly, clean, and the morning buffet is really good with a variety of healthy assortments. Oh, and the warm chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon are a real treat for families and adults alike. We also enjoyed the gym which has a few pieces of equipment--but mainly the treadmill was what we were looking for. There is a nice clean pool but we did not utilize! So, being particular about where we stay especially when flying across the Country to get to Clemson we really enjoyed the hospitality of the staff and felt like they were always ready and willing to help. We were impressed with Management and in particular Kimberley and her professionalism. We will be staying there again and would highly recommend! Clean, walls were not paper thin as they are in some locations and they were friendly.

I had to take a shower by the hall light and small light over the mirror at 5 am since the overhead light in the bathroom did not work. I had to get to an early meeting so could not wait for a repair. When I went by the front desk on my way out, I requested a 1 o'clock check out since I knew my meeting would last until about 12:30 and it was 10 minutes away from the hotel. At about 11:30, my wife, who is handicapped with MS, was rudely told she had to leave the room and sit in the lobby until returned from my meeting. When I returned to the hotel, I learned that they had not found the note that the desk attendant left for the late checkout request. After looking around for a little while, they found it and said they were sorry. I'm upset because I experienced poor maintenance problems. I am even more upset that their mistake caused wife embarrassment and stress. MS patients are told to avoid stress because it can make their disease symptoms to worsen. Thanks Hampton Inn. read more

Our third time here in two years. Room was extremely clean and the beds are the best. So comfortable and they wash their duvet covers daily. I witnessed it. the breakfast is delicious for a help yourself type. Everything you need, fresh fruit, yogurt, waffles, cereal and toaster for muffins and bagels.The staff is so helpful, especially Mary and Niesha. For the comments below, stating the front desk is so slow, it is not cost effective to staff for mass crowds every minute. this is the best hotel within 20 miles of Clemson.
