Right next to the train tracks and all of the walls are paper thin so you hear everything. Someone was knocking on a door near mine and it sounded like it was my door. The rooms are really small and not in the best condition (a shelf over the toilet was falling down so wasn't usable. The only working outlet was next to the sink so we had to take turns charging...we had a room with 2 queen beds and both were pushed up against the wall. The fan in the very tiny bathroom was soooo loud! The AC was really loud too but that was a bit of a plus because it created a bit of white noise to drown out the noise from other rooms. Only 1/2 a roll of toilet paper and we had to go to the front desk for an extra roll. I lifted up the sheet to check for signs of bed bugs and really (really) wish I hadn't because the mattress was pretty nasty and stained. The comforter s on the beds have definitely seen better days. Beds have been soft, pillows are the same and the bathroom is a fairly decent size. There was ample parking and I felt the area was safe. The two issues I had were the weed smoking inside somw of the rooms as we passed, and I thought they could do better at cleaning the pool. The first room smelled awful -- like something died and someone just sprayed air freshener on top of it. I asked to switch rooms. The second room had thick dust everywhere, mold inside the AC, and mold creeping along the corners of the floor. I requested another room, but instead of helping, they told me maintenance would "check it out tomorrow." Spoiler alert -- no one ever showed up. When I followed up, they told me to grab Windex and disinfecting wipes from the gym and clean it myself. I'm sorry, but I paid for a hotel stay, not to clock in as housekeeping. While cleaning just to survive the stay, I found mold under the kitchen sink, chipped paint, mold in the bathroom, and even mold spots on some of the furniture. The kitchen area looked beat-up and dirty, nothing like the pretty photos online. Whoever took those pictures deserves an award, because the reality is straight-up catfish. I would've checked out sooner, but I was traveling for work with a ton of bags and no easy way to move everything again. Still, no one ever offered another room or a real solution. The staff acted like it wasn't a big deal. To make things worse, when I called customer service afterward, the only "resolution" they offered was a measly 10,000 points -- which equals about $50. That's insulting considering I spent over $500 to sleep in filth and breathe in mold. This hotel used to be decent, but now it's completely gone downhill. Between the odor, the dirt, the mold, and the lazy management, it's clear no one cares about guest comfort anymore. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else -- this place isn't worth your health or your money. In response to the owner that keeps denying this an wanting me to delete the review . We initially assumed it had been provided for additional comfort. However, after returning from dinner, we found the room at 78 degrees, even though we had set the unit to 68. When we contacted the front desk, we learned that the room's air-conditioning system was not working. The woman at the front desk was very kind and understanding, and our frustration is not directed toward her. Rather, we are extremely disappointed that the hotel assigned us a room without functioning air conditioning and did not disclose this before we checked in. Had we been informed, we would not have accepted the room--particularly on a hot summer day in the South. We understand that mechanical problems occur, and we have no objection to paying a fair price for a quality hotel room. What is unacceptable is placing guests in a room with a known problem without notifying them beforehand. Providing a portable unit without explanation made the situation feel concealed rather than honestly addressed. As a Bonvoy member, I expected greater transparency and better treatment. If you are planning to stay at the Greenville property, make sure everything in your room--especially the air conditioning--is working properly before you settle in. This was not cool at all, literally or figuratively.

I've been to a lot of different hotels, and I haven't ever stayed anywhere that has made me feel this unsafe, unclean, and at risk for various infectious and incurable diseases. I ended up in this hotel on a trip with my sports team for a competition at Clemson University. Immediately upon arrival, all of us were struck by the exterior resemblance of prostitution fronts showcased in late night episodes of DateLine. After entering the room, we struggled with groping the walls for light switches over the span of a solid five minutes before finding the switch shoved into the metal jam between the wall and the other "wall." With the room lit, we discovered that the "wall" by the door overlooking the pebbled balcony, est. before the invention of concrete, was a bunch of window panes hastily molded together with tin. The curtain covering the window-wall was a rose-patterned sheet thrown out of the bad part of the 1970s, hastily tacked up to add the illusion of drywall, rather glass. I think my coach hit it flat on the head when she compared the three-walled room to a horror movie set where the director then finished the C-rated film and decided to call it a motel. The interior decorator obviously bankrupted the entire budget and left nothing to replace bed sheets, carpeting, or even wash the towels in the bathroom. The beds, on their own, are an entirely separate issue. I view myself as someone who can handle close to anything - except dirty beds. The comforter pulled back revealed two blood stains and cigarette burns. The sheets have yet to be pulled back but I would not be surprised to find hair, bodily fluid stains, and possibly a used needle or two. Sleeping on the floor might normally be an option, if the floor were not on par with the mattresses. The floor could be dubbed "stain-central," but that would imply everything was dry. The carpeted floor had suspicious stains ground into the Stephen King-inspired patterns, and only a few steps around had my feet feeling sticky. A quick walk to the bathroom and the biggest 'why' question of the night struck me: two sinks?? At least that's a bonus. A second-hand gauzy sheet of fabric that isn't even waterproof counts as a shower curtain. But who cares when you have two sinks? Who cares that there's blood on the sheets when you have two sinks? Who cares that the floor is probably crawling with a selection of STI's when you have two sinks? I would trade the two sinks, the ironing board, the gas-station inspired packets of body wash, and a 24" bubble TV for clean sheets, a clean floor, and water temperatures besides glacial and Satan's bathwater. All in all, we're looking for a different hotel to stay at.
