The room is large with a refrigerator, bar area, small kitchen table and luxury vinyl flooring & couch seating area.. The bed was comfortable and all amenities were upscale. One downside is that there is no tub and my wife enjoys a nice, soaking, hot bath. No option there. Really, this was a nice stay, but most of the amenities were closed due to Covid and it was a Monday night, weeknight, so the bar area was closed. It looks to be a very nice hotel if things were back to normal.

I have been saving that bottle just for my son's graduation from Clemson Honors College since 2018!! I left it by my suitcase in the main bedroom in our suite and it is gone, why would the cleaning staff take something and throw it away that is no where close to a trash can?! To make matters worse I go down to the front desk and the front desk staff tells me I'm sorry they have already taken the trash to the dumpster!! Wow!! Terrible customer service all around! We were given a flyer upon checking that housekeeping only comes every few days - it was up to us to bundle our trash and throw away down the hall as needed. Breakfast was free and the offerings couldn't have been cheaper in quality and offerings. Powdered eggs were the only healthy option?. The only fresh fruit was apples? if you want a banana - get there as early as possible. Nothing for vegetarians. Front desk staff never greeted us as we passed through the lobby multiple times a day. They looked tired and overworked. You guys need to add lighting to the left side of the building - that lot is pitch black at night and doesn't feel safe - even at 5 am leaving for the airport. Lots to work on here. For a major hotel chain at a huge highly regarded football school, Best Western needs to do a heck of a lot better. But when all other hotels are charging triple the price for game weekends, ring ceremonies and graduation - why would Best Western change anything? People will still book it. If you a "it's just a place to rest my head" type person - even that may be challenging for you.

I have a surgery scheduled Monday am at 6:45 and booked the hotel so I could come in Sunday night to prepare. Just got a call today because the address is the one on my license saying Salem SC..... they will not allow me to stay as my " home" is within a 30 mile radius and that violates their rules. The girl at the counter could not even explain the policy and just said call the owner tomorrow. 60 years old- not a college kid or partier and we couldn't stay at the hotel. Fine- booked a nicer one 8 miles away that was way better with no issues. Just so you know- if you are an Oconnee county resident within 30 miles from the hotel - they can make a rule to not allow you to stay there. Bizarre.
