We sailed on the 7-day cruise to Key West and the Bahamas in April aboard the Margaritaville at Sea Islander, and it exceeded all of my expectations. The ship is absolutely beautiful, the food was excellent, the entertainment was fun, and every member of the staff we encountered was friendly and welcoming. We also thoroughly enjoyed our shore excursions, and the embarkation and disembarkation process was surprisingly smooth and easy, making the entire experience stress-free. If we lived closer to Tampa, we'd be booking a cruise on the Islander every month! Our first cruise turned out to be an unforgettable vacation, and I wouldn't hesitate to sail with Margaritaville at Sea again.

At 1st glance that ship was very clean and fresh. Plenty of smiling faces around and everyone was happy to be there. As per the usual we had to get acquainted with the ship and find our muster station. (that was easy) Now on to some food and drink. It was raining but we made the best of it and most did. Room time! Spacious and well kept. Large port window and the standard bedding. (We did NOT have a fridge!) We asked our porter and he said "it was broken so they removed it" WHAT!? Ok :( The club was great every night and the white party even better! This is a small ship but still a fun ship. If its close to you, take a chance on it if you like smaller crowds this is the one for you! See you Soon!

Dj Ravi was hands down the perfect choice for us! He turned our dance floor into a family-friendly rave and it couldn't have been more perfect!! He understood our wants for fun fun fun and he delivered! I don't care if it's a simply bbq party I throw next..he is the one to light any party up!!! His energy had even the quietest guests dancing! Tom was a fantastic photographer!! I wished for more artistic photos and more photos of "awww" moments and he came through! I am so excited to see what he captured! Ever have a photo booth?! You need to book it! Every guest has an absolute ball with it! Suzann helped get the photos and made us a wonderful scrapbook and Jeff designed the perfect photo strip!!! Thank you complete wedding! After countless hours of research, we opted for vendors who could provide more than one service and as indicated by the company title, Complete Weddings + Events can do everything entertainment related. Our Event Manger Arturo spent quite a bit of time consulting with us via email, phone and once in-person (we flew from Seattle to meet all of our vendors). Shout-out to Damon the General Manager for those homemade cookies he gave us during our in-person consultation!! Arturo assembled a team that complimented my husband and I so well. My husband's family is mid-western (Italian-American )and mine is Caribbean-American, and I told Arturo straight up don't assign a DJ that doesn't know authentic Caribbean music. Arturo laughed and said "we got you.", and made sure we got DJ Marvin. The following was covered by Complete Weddings & Events: Lighting: Tory: What can I say, everything was in the right place to give a magical lavender effect. DJ - DJ Marvin: DJ Marvin was very polite. It started raining 30 minutes before our ceremony start time, and he offered to prop the door open to keep his equipment indoors, but have the ability to play outdoors if that's what we decided (then it started pouring, and we moved everything inside). He checked in with me before each part on our agenda for the wedding to make sure things went smoothly. DJ Marvin not only knows Caribbean music but reads the crowd in a matter of seconds. He got my family up and jumping right away. Even my 86 year old grampa danced!! He was so good, my husband danced, too! Miracle worker. Drone - Steve (operator) Did a fantastic job capturing our "first look/reveal" moments, as well as aerial view of the city. In fact, he did SO well that our final video looks almost like the ceremony was both indoors and outdoors. Photographer - Tony Bubble Machine - Tony (operator) What can I say about Tony? This man is an artist. He has an eye for the perfect moment. I was shy about having a male photographer, but he was so polite I felt comfortable right away. The way he directed my husband and I, I think we came off as natural (which we expressed concern about because we are generally camera shy and awkward). Tony even capitalized on moments we didn't expect, such as the double-rainbow that came out right as our ceremony ended. Our day-of planner thought of a send-off up the elevator, and Tony accommodated. It was funny riding up and down for the right shot but boy did he capture it. Videographer - Brennan Brennan was professional, prompt and captured my sisters and my getting ready moments. He kept a straight face and focused as we joked, cursed and did what ladies do when dressing together. We apologized for being crass, and he chuckled and said it was fine and continued filming. He seemed to capture candid moments, and towards the end of getting ready, did some staged shots with my sisters and mom which was fun. Finally, I'm not sure who put together our wedding video but it's so beautiful I cried watching it, and so did some of our friends and family AND a few family members have asked what songs were in the background. Full disclaimer: It takes a minimum of 12 weeks for the video, but its so worth the wait. Arturo did a great job giving us monthly updates of progress from photo development to where we were in the queue for the final video edits. Since we aren't from Miami, they even packaged the USBs for the photos and video so securely in magenta and lavender pouches. It's the small touches that really makes COMPLETE Weddings + Events Miami crew so wonderful. I'd give them 10 stars if we weren't limited to 5.

On that first call, Amber made it clear she wanted to help us create a wedding that would bring our ideas and visions to fruition. She helped make our wedding the perfect representation of who we are as a couple. We chose her 60 day management planning collection, but boy, do I wish we met her sooner and had her as our full wedding planner...because she is absolutely amazing. She exceeded any and all expectations that we had. She was plethora of information and an incredible teammate during our wedding planning process. But most of all, we feel like we've gained a new friend, because she is an incredible human being! Going with Oh My Occasions was probably the best decision out of the entire wedding process. Our wedding was in January 2021, which meant the bulk of our planning was during the height of Covid. Amber was always there to answer any questions that we had, and to reassure us that things would be okay. She adeptly coordinated all our vendors and all the small details. Her communication was the best I've ever experienced, and she definitely made the wedding planning process so much more efficient and enjoyable. Between my husband's schedule and my crazy ER nurse night shift schedule, Amber was able to easily adapt to our communication styles. She's very professional, organized, and knowledgable, and provided us with incredible planning tools and essential check lists. On the big day, Amber and her team worked their magic, and helped us have the wedding of our dreams. I was comfortable and reassured knowing that the OMO team was there for us on our wedding day. Amber made sure everything ran smoothly. I 1000% recommend this company for your wedding - we seriously couldn't have done it without Amber and the Oh My Occasions team! Thank you, Amber, for helping us share our love story in the most perfect way possible!!!

The town of Clewiston is located on the southwest bank of Lake Okeechobee, the largest freshwater…read morelake in Florida. It was named for Tampa banker A.C. Clewis, who financed the extension of the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad through the area in 1922. In 1932 Clewiston was incorporated and laid out according to the plans of the Southern Sugar Corp who wanted a showcase city to serve as its headquarters. The town has the nickname "America's Sweetest Town" because of the U.S. Sugar Corporation headquarters here. The Clewiston Inn is the oldest hotel near Lake Okeechobee. The Inn was first built in 1926 by architects L. Phillips and Edgar S. Wortman in a two story Classical Revival style along the waterfront of Lake Okeechobee. The hotel was constructed by the Clewiston Company, the community and real estate development arm of Bror Dahlberg's Southern Sugar Company. Southern Sugar went into bankruptcy during the Great Depression and sold their assets to United States Sugar Corporation which was founded by three former General Motors executives. The hotel survived the 1926 Hurricane and the 1928 hurricane that killed over 4,000 people when Lake Okeechobee flooded causing many people to drown. The hotel was destroyed by a fire in 1937 but rebuilt in 1938 by U.S. Sugar Corp. with thick concrete walls braced with extra thick steel reinforcing rods the could withstand any future hurricanes. U.S. Sugar Corp used the inn to house company executives, customers. and visiting dignitaries. President Herbert Hoover stayed at the inn when he dedicated the Hoover Dike built around the lake, to provide flood control after the devastation of the Hurricane of 1928. One of the most stunning features of the hotel is the the Everglades Lounge and Bar which has a 360-degree wildlife mural covering all four walls of bar. The mural was made in 1945 by artist J. Clinton Shepherd who recreated the animals and plants of the Everglades. He stayed at the Inn for many months and made daily trips into the Everglades to sketch the flora and fauna. The historic mural alone makes this a 5 star visit. I love a good ghost story and the Clewiston Inn has it's share. There have been a number of paranormal investigations here and it's believed there are four spirits who never checked out. They include Anita Conklin who lived at the Clewiston Inn in room 225 and died in 1994. People have reported having their hair pulled outside the room. Other guests mention room 118 where there have been reports of a woman in the window. In 2007 the U.S. Sugar Corporation sold the Inn to Big Lake Hotels. In 2011 the Big Lake Hotels Corporation sold the Inn to Clewiston Hospitality LLC. It is an Americas Best Value Inn. On February 21, 1991, the hotel was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The five stars is for the historic value of the hotel as I have never stayed or eaten here. The manager caught me peeking in the window and even though the inn was closed he graciously allowed me inside to look around. I got a brief glimpse of the famed Everglades room and even though the light wasn't on I was suitably awed. Returning for a drink at the bar is now high on my list of post corona activities.
