I was surprised when I showed up - there was so much furniture on the curb in front of the hotel and no check in desk. Ummm. Maybe I would have liked to know the place was under construction prior to my arrival - maybe it didn't/doesn't really matter. This work was supposed to be done a while ago but with all of the tariffs/import issues, it was delayed. I understand that. Every day I came "home" from work, something was different. I think it's going to be really nice when done. All in all - giving 5 stars because my room was clean and quiet. The fitness center had enough so that I could get in a decent "hotel workout". The bed was comfortable. There were plenty of options for breakfast but - mostly - everyone I met was professional and friendly. They made me feel like they were, legitimately, happy to see me each day. That matters to this frequent traveler. read more

Making a move out west and I planned my trip to stay just outside St. Louis so I didn't have to drive through the city in the dark. For my trip this was a very nice stop. The parking lot is well lit and because there weren't too many people there (this was late February) I didn't feel bad taking three spaces with the truck. The night attendant was so pleasant and made us feel right at home; first floor room was clean as I expected and the beds were very comfortable. For me the "catch" at Hampton Inn is the waffle maker and I do like the one that makes four mini waffles. So good! read more

Came here and crashed before I made my way to St. Louis. I recently stayed at a Hampton Inn so I thought, I'd do it again. I wasn't dissapointed. They had fresh cookies in the lobby. Beautiful front lobby as well. A cool thing I liked was that there wasn't a charge needed on my card for incidentals. The room is standard and felt like your normal Hampton room. It did have mouthwash which was awesome! TV stations may be confusing to some. What I disliked was that there wasn't a hot tub even though I was was satisfied with the pool. Over the years Hampton inn has become our hotel of choice when traveling. This one was not so great. In these new covid times something's I understand but this hotel just misses the mark on many things. The small things. An elevator that is so small only 1 person and a luggage cart can fit at one time. Worst beds I ever had. Way to soft. Horrible pillows. Yes I know these can be subject to personal taste but wow, barely got any sleep. Worse was the cleanliness. Just not as clean as they want you to believe. Oh sure there was a seal on the door but once you went in, well they either didn't vacum or it's broken. The shower was so slippery you don't dare move or you may go down. In fact the whole bathroom was pretty slippery. We also had the pleasure of a broken toilet seat. I don't mean cracked or loose. I mean not connected to the toilet at all. It was after 9pm when we got there and I wasn't going to call down and wait for someone to come fix it. Just had to make it work. read more

The price was good. Now the floor in our room that was not carpet was slippery (but don't think it was due to cleanliness). We had a huge roach crawl across the hall then found a big bug of some kind swimming in our toilet. When we tried to use I couldn't get water to flow. My fiancé thought he was gonna "save" the day. Come to find out the handle was stripped. So he worked with it enough for us to be able to shower. There were no hotels available in the area at a decent rate and the hotel was sold out. Hilton digital key does not work. One elevator, slightly larger than a dumb waiter. First room the rug was wet and soapy. Second room the tile in the hallway and bathroom were slippery, my wife almost fell. I am assuming soap was left after cleaning it. Funky smell. Like they were trying to cover cigarette smoke. Pillows were square and small. That was odd, never seen that. A/C note very good. The room was clean, and I did like the walk in shower. I intentionally picked this Hampton over the comparatively the priced Doubletree which is very close by due to my great experiences of the previous Hamptons. FAIL This one is no one near as nice as the aforeaforementioned. Very old furniture and carpet. The bed is what really sold me on the previous too, those beds were awesome.. This one is pretty meh. Coming into the hotel was some heavy exterior damage. Maybe a recent storm? Main lobby was empty but looked fine. When I got to the room, the carpet was torn up and looked used. Few long hairs left in the bathroom, and just overall the room smelled damb smelled damp.The curtains are rod along the wall and the window is on a separate piece. Window sheet doesn't come down all the way. Sunlight and Parking lot light keep room bright. read more

I stepped in the shower and immediately noticed the white floor of shower was dirty from my feet!! I didn't bring the dirt to the hotel. I took my wash cloth and rubbed one tile (see attached photo room 127). Appears the dark tiles never get mopped or the cleaning staff uses the same mop water for all rooms. Clean rooms are all I ask of any hotel. UPDATE: without requesting any refund or action from desk clerk I received an apology and refund. I hope Mgt acts upon this cleaning problem. I second everything said by brandon m. We spent 4 days at this Hampton while visiting St. Louis this past week. It's a lot less expensive than staying in the city and a lot closer than the suburbs of St. Louis in Missouri. It only took us about 10 minutes to get into the city each day. The area around the hotel is newer and is a small convention type area with several hotels and several places to eat. Right across the freeway there are more restaurants too. (We had a car though. If you don't have one this would be a bit of a walk in the sweltering heat.) Their breakfast at Hampton Inn's is always good. The only way you will have more choices is to go out to a restaurant. Each day they had a hot cooked egg dish such as scrambled eggs, cheese omelet or a denver omelet and a hot meat such as sausage, ham or bacon. They have two waffle makers, four cereals, both skim and 2% milk, fruit salad, yogurt, apples & bananas, muffins, instant oatmeal and the usual breakfast breads. They also have one staff person assigned to stock the food bar and she was very diligent. They did occasionally run out of things during the busiest times, but she worked hard to replace them as soon as possible. I only have one critic of the hotel and it wasn't a big deal, but whatever they are using to clean the floor in the bathrooms isn't drying this time of year, maybe due to the humidity from the air conditioning which runs all day, and it leaves the floor slippery. I meant to tell someone at the front desk, but forgot. All the staff people were very friendly, but we didn't have any special requests so I can't speak to how they handle that sort of thing. My husband and I have been traveling for a PCS move so we've been on hotels and this hotel by far the most weird and awkward hotel. I went on a road trip where I drove through the area on my way to Chicago. I arrived late at night. I was able to make a reservation online and had no issues checking in, initially. When I got to the room I noticed a moldy smell in the room. Granted, it was raining pretty hard outside and the room was on the first floor. The moment I took off my shoes I noticed that the carpet was wet. Sometimes if its cold its hard to tell if what you're feeling is just the chill from the floor or actual dampness so I put down paper towels and they immediately absorbed the water. My family came for a spring break getaway and while we were out exploring St. Louis, we came back to my 6 year olds Ipad taken from the night stand. I informed the front desk person who asked that I NOT call police until she had a chance to call the GM. I called police anyway, who informed us that the hotel had been known for housekeeping theft. The GM did not speak to me at all until the next morning when I approached her. She stated that there was nothing she could do and asked, "what do you want? For me to just fire her?" My son is so upset and doesn't understand why someone would take his stuff, as he would never take something that didn't belong to him. I will NEVER stay at another Hampton Inn as I do not agree with the morals a values of this hotel. I know my son will never see his special gift from Santa ever again. I just hope that no one ever makes your children feel the way my child feels right now. As his mother I know there is nothing that I can do other than reassure my son that not all people are bad, however some people find it easier to steal from a child than work for things that they want. So disappointing. I will also be writing a review on Google, Facebook, Yelp and where ever I need to in order to get the word out. read more

Stayed here when headed to a family reunion in Missouri. That night, the room was fine, but they did not read my preference and put us next to the ice maker. On our return trip, they didn't read our preferences and stuck us on the first floor, and the room smelled like a cellar. I was a Hilton Diamond member and switched to Sheratons because of stuff like this. Decided to give them a shot again, but apparently I chose poorly. Looks like Hilton/Hampton lost another customer. Addition... Trying to salvage the experience, my son and I went to the gym. Through the window: new equipment, looked clean, first impression was great... Was very disappointed for what they say is a newly remodeled hotel. So many things wrong with the "remodel" of our room. Transition strip missing between carpeting and tile, gaps in the woodwork, wall not finished where theres a hole for the sprinkler. Duct tape over the smoke detectors, wires hanging out of the wall in the hall. There were ants and hair in the bath tub. Totally disappointing for a Hampton. The customer service here was excellent and safer than the doubletree across the street. The hotel is a average hampton, nothing special. What make me give a 4 over 3 stars was the customer service of management. I left a shirt at the hotel that was lost after housekeeping had came through. After investing with no success, the manager was kind enough to reimburse the full amount of my shirt with a check and even followed up with me personally to ensure that I had received the check by mail. The doubletree may be nicer at have the feel of a double tree, however I would stay here instead due to the housekeeping at the doubletree tried to steal from my room at 1pm when I arrived back to my room. My late check out was at 2pm. I was surrounded by 5 individuals (2 housekeeping carts on the opposite end of the hall) and yelled at me that I had a 1 pm checkout after the housekeeping manager ensured me that no one would be in my room until after my checkout time at 2pm. The staff themselves said it was strange and would contact me, however they never followed up nor conducted an investigation after falsely ensuring they would find the culprits. I even inquired about the situations a month later when I contemplated about staying there again to another individual who was never informed. He too stated it was a fishy situation, yet he himself never followed up with me as they had promised they would for a second time. read more

I pre-booked two rooms that I thought were adjoining only to find out they weren't when we arrived. We were traveling as a family with five children and needed adjoining rooms (which I made clear when I made the reservation). The desk clerk was rude and unhelpful. We cancelled our rooms and, thankfully, found better accommodations for less, with courteous and helpful staff across the street at the Drury Inn instead. We recently spent two nights at this location for a quick spring break trip to see Cahokia Mounds and were disappointed in this particular Hampton Inn. Observations: * Although the room was updated, it wasn't the most professional job and the room still seemed tired and needed a deep cleaning. There were dirty water spots on the toilet seat cover, the bathroom door and woodwork. Candy behind the beds. Dust and crumbs in the corners of the room. * Strange chemical/stale smell in the room that made me think it had - in a former life - been a smoking room. It was odd. * New bathroom doors are sliding barn-style doors that also cover the closet when not acting as a bathroom door. Unfortunately the door doesn't completely cover the bathroom doorway and there's a large crack through which other room inhabitants can see whatever's reflected in the bathroom mirror. This was problematic for us as we were sharing the room with our pre-teen and teenager. * Beds were fairly comfortable and seemed clean. The fitted sheet on our bed was inside out, but I'm chalking that up to a mistake rather than an effort to cut corners on changing sheets. * NO HOT TUB in pool area! What???!?!? * No recognition of Hilton Honors status, unlike at other Hampton Inns. Not even a bottle of water! They did put cookies out in the evening, but they weren't good. * Breakfast was subpar in quality and the floor of the breakfast area was so sticky and dirty that people's shoes were squelching. The place is tired, the staff seem tired and overall it just didn't seem worth bringing these complaints to their attention. It was *fine* for our last-minute adventure, but I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. read more

My mother has stayed here several times over the years. These days, she needs an accessible room with a walk in shower. She has called in advance multiple times to request the room, guaranteed with a credit card & is ALWAYS assured that room 113 is reserved in her name. The only problem?? THEY LIED!! Do they not realize how serious this is?? The liability alone should make them honor their promise. It also may be time to have more than one accessible room with a walk-in shower!!! Stayed here while on business in the area. The property is tired and the employees appear to be also. No recognition for status, a loud and rumbling air conditioner in my room which kept me up, and really scratchy towels. I've had much better Hampton Inn experiences in service and facilities at any one of the five or so I've stayed at in the past year. read more

If I could I would give it no stars! My husband and I checked in on Friday evening the 15th of November. We went to the first room we were given and I turned down the bed and the sheets were unwashed and crusty, it was obvious that it was body fluid. I took several pictures of the sheets that I took with my phone!! I immediately called front desk, the guy gave us another room and I also asked for extra sheets and pillow cases, which I picked up at front desk and I, not they had to remake our own bed. I was told by their receptionist Wendy and Eric ( I think that wish is name), that "the hotel had problems with housekeeping and cleanliness). That is just great! The next morning we waited for the manager Donna K. . When she arrived we told her of the problem and what Wendy and Eric said, she assured us that this was not true. She said she would talk to Wendy and Eric, that they shouldn't tell people that. She did take our charge off for our stay. However, when we checked in to another hotel the next night in Tulsa we discovered that we had left our backpack with our electronics in the room. My laptop, my Bose noise canceling headphones, two iPod touches and my Canon power shot camera, We immediately called the Collinsville, Il. Hampton. We were told that " yes, housekeeping had found it and it was locked in the managers office. They arranged for packing and shipping of the backpack and we paid to have it shipped to us in California ( our son's house, our destination). When it arrived on Thursday, Nov. 21st, the Bose headphone case was empty, the IPods and camera were also gone. ( all small items that could be easily carried out without detection. We called the manager at Hampton, we filed a police report. The manager said she would call us on Friday, the next day. We were leaving for Cabo on Saturday Nov. 23. She did not call. When we returned from Mexico, we tried to reach her, left voicemails and we still have no response. We phoned corporate and they don't seem to want to do anything about it. We are trying to reach the owner but we are getting nowhere. This is telling us that they are condoning the dishonesty of their employees.
