The breakfast buffet was better than average. Also received late checkout. Also, manager left a note and a snack tray for me in my room. Nice touch to see the arrival gift in my room. Staff: Overall staff was very helpful. Yeah...I can see why this place only has one review before mine. If I could use one word to describe this hotel, it would be: confusing. Why is the front entrance on the side of the building? Why is the road it's located next to a dead end street? Why is the part that looks more like the front entrance locked? Why is the parking garage equipped with gates that don't function? Why did the hotel receptionist's deadpan greeting to guests come across as though she hated her job wanted to off herself? Also, did I mention one of our delivery food orders apparently got stolen? Yup. That happened. We're still not completely sure if it was the GrubHub person who did it, or some other guest in the hotel. But we're fairly certain if there were a requirement to notify the front desk first, it would greatly reduce the chance of theft. And then there's the room itself. It was pretty standard, except....there were no where nearly enough convenience outlets. this is a first for us. Also, there was only one night stand; in between both queen beds. I dunno, man. I've been to a LOT of Marriott hotels in my day. This one has to rank somewhere in the bottom 50%. So, allow me to be THAT guy and offer up my whopping grand total of 2 disappointingly underwhelming rooms with too few power outlets out of 5.

Mattresses and pillows were so-so. Glad our room was on the opposite side from the Interstate. So no road noise. As another Yelp reviewer stated, the walls between the rooms are like paper. We didn't have anyone next door until our final night, and we could hear everything being said next door! Like many extended stay hotels, they service your room every other day. As we checked in on a Tuesday, we were told our room would be cleaned on Thursday (Thanksgiving). When we discovered our room wasn't cleaned, I learned from the front desk that the housekeepers would only clean rooms that were being vacated. Not a big thing, but I wish the staffer who checked us in had communicated that.

Having stayed here several times over the years, I've consistently found it to embody the high-end service and quality you'd expect from the Ritz-Carlton brand. The Lobby Lounge is an excellent place to unwind. There's plenty of comfortable seating, a sushi bar that adds to the experience, and an atmosphere that's both elegant and inviting. Even though the lobby was bustling, it somehow still felt secluded and relaxing. One of the things I appreciated most was being able to enjoy a conversation without having to compete with loud music or excessive noise. Service was exceptional from start to finish. We enjoyed a wonderful bottle of bubbles along with a bourbon, and everything was presented flawlessly.

The rest that we tried just seemed off and all had kind of bitter after tastes to them. The next night we met down at the lobby bar, which is an absolute ghost town. Honestly who wants to gets cocktails were they just had breakfast buffet that morning. Zero atmosphere. The bartender was super friendly though which was a 180 degree difference from the upstairs. It's small in size, so you can kind of say it was intimate. I took a seat at the bar, but they did have several tables for groups to gather and drink. I was pleased to see that under the bar, they had hooks. I'm a big advocate for hooks being under bars. They're great for light coats and for ladies to securely store their purse. After looking over the cocktail menu, I went with a Manhattan. Wow, the young lady working as bartender, knew her craft and made me an outstanding cocktail. I watched her make it and her skills were masterful. I prefer my Manhattans up and with a dark cherry. You give me a Maraschino cherry, you lose a star in any rating. Good Cocktail, Good Service, Good Value and Relaxing Atmosphere. I'll be glad to stop by again, when I'm in Clayton.

Day 2....asked again...Day 3 asked again, Day 4 I asked AGAIN but told them it's too late now I'm checking out! That really pissed me off. So, just for this review, I asked the guy's name (Ra Shawn). Then miraculously, someone started to clean the elevators. But, they have no concept of periodic maintenance or what a sanitized elevator should like. So, there's no hope of any change. If you are an employee there, reading this, and I can't believe I have to spell this out but you're supposed to sanitize the elevators EVERY DAY at the very least - Not go YEARS!!!! And finally, they service the rooms about 3:30 - 4 p.m. instead of first thing in the morning...which...ruined our naps. We were always back in the room by then. Again...weird management. I will say, the employees were nice (as they lied right to your face) and the beds were comfortable. But, this place was GROSS!

Couldn't use the Keurig because it was filled with mold, but otherwise it was...fine. But being scammed is enough for me to give one star.
