The hotel seems older but clean for the most part. Conveniently located right next to the interstate. The biggest negative that I have, is that I booked the room on Hampton's/Hilton's website and was quoted a price. When I arrived, they told me that there's a $50 incidental charge that will be refunded if nothing happens to the room, and an almost 6 dollar parking fee. Now bear in mind, the website claims that they have free parking. However, because this hotel is privately owned the desk clerk said that they can charge pretty much what they want to. Had I not booked the room a head of time, I would have gone to a different hotel. read more

As a long time Hilton Honors member, I rely upon consistency in the Hampton/Hampton Suites hotels when I travel. So it's concerning when a property advertises a set of amenities including Free parking on their website (see attached) and then, without further disclosure at check-in, charges for it ($5.18/nt). It was strange to see this given there is a large parking lot and the hotel is situated in a suburban location where free parking is the norm. I was told when I called the hotel after seeing the charge on the receipt that 'the parking charge is the owner's decision, and is not Hilton policy'. I would add that there were other aspects of the hotel that indicated it may be a distressed property. The coffee was brown water, there were no bananas, oranges weren't fresh, and other fruit was wrapped in layers of plastic no doubt to disguise its age. Hot water took a full 10 minutes to reach our room on the 5th floor. So hopefully no one in your party is in a hurry. Long time Hilton Honors member and Regular business traveler. Stayed at this location 3 times this year, because of location for the work I have to preform, I thought that maybe the first stay was crappy because of time of year (July near Race weekend), but after this weekend I will avoid this location like a person on fire to a tank of gasoline. They charge a fee for parking even though they have ample parking, the cleanliness is sub par, the front desk person (Not Sure if male or female) was condescending, and had a attitude. Looky-here. 5 Stars again. I'd actually stay at this Hampton Inn even if I wasn't traveling with my aged dog. But as the pup was with us, I'll reiterate why I like this place: *** the staff is pet-friendly and kind *** our chosen room is on the first floor by the back door, which facilitates walks. Only one neighbor too, if the dog starts to bark. *** the outside area is grassy and flat. Poop bags and a refuse container are conveniently located The hotel is located right off I-85. There's a great Mexican restaurant across the street -- 2 delicious entrees and a small pitcher of margaritas for $40! -- If you want basic American fare Cracker Barrell is right there, and if Hampton Inn's breakfast doesn't cut it (still mediocre during Covid) walk to Bojangles for a chicken biscuit. A gas station to fill up when you leave is right there, too. Rooms are clean, water pressure is great ... and really, nothing is lacking. read more

Beyond disappointing!!! Checked in and went to room, found room had not been cleaned but at first glance thought just the sheets and towels were the problem. Went to the front desk to talk to the person working and he immediately jumped to well either take the room as is or I can refund you and check you out. Are you kidding me!! I then asked fire new sheets and towels because I hadn't realized how bad the room was but thought ah at least clean sheets will make it bare able for the night. He then proceeded to bring me the sheets in the lobby and said this is all I have. After returning to the room I then realized just how bad the room was with trash left everywhere and decided that this was unacceptable!! This situation could have been handled so much better in several different ways, I am truly disappointed in the customer service at this location. read more

The facility was clean, the breakfast was typical free hotel breakfast. My complaint is we were in room 132-right next door to the boiler room. (I asked what it was after 3rd night). Every morning at what seemed like the middle of the night (actually 4:30-5:00) I was awakened by what sounded like pipes falling on cement floors, buckets being dragged across cement floors, banging doors, rattling keys and more. It would stop for maybe 10 minutes and start all over again. This would go on for 30 to 45 minutes. Right behind the wall the headboard was on. While I would stay at this hotel again, I would not accept a room anywhere near room 132!! read more

I've stayed here a couple of times in the past month. They are finishing up an exterior renovation but the only inconvenience so far for me has been parking a bit farther away due to construction equipment. The highlight has always been the check-in. The front desk agents have always been friendly and appropriately empathetic to the traveler. The room is standard. Seems to be one of Hampton's slightly more outdated room designs with a few upgraded touches. Nonetheless, the room is comfortable and clean. The room price is always reasonable and that will keep me coming back. Great value. read more

***This hotel is pet friendly!*** When we evacuate we are often scrambling to find a reasonably priced pet friendly hotel. Luckily, we stumbled upon this one. This hotel is clean! We've had some hotels where it's very obvious you're in the "animal" room. Our room was clean, no animal odor, no left over animal hair. The pet fee is only 35.00 for the entire stay. Our daughter enjoyed the small pool onsite which was also very clean and well maintained. The on-site gym is small, only one treadmill and one bike, so it's almost impossible for more then two people to workout. The staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you have pets! read more

This is an older hotel but clean and a great staff , clean rooms, nice bathroom that was also clean, And good Internet on the fifth floor. Easy on and off the freeway north of Charlotte and plenty of good eats nearby Hotel recommended a great place called Crisps-all bacon- had a fantastic bacon wrapped steak and cheese and craft beer- out of this world. Standard hampton breakfast is good, hot coffee, very comfy beds. Using this location now for clients north of Charlotte for less traffic, good value, and very friendly service. Has small pantry also available for late night snacks when working. Highly recommend. read more

*In full disclosure I did not spend the night here* Instead, I have camped out in their meeting rooms downstairs for three days completing my continuing education classes. This location is very easy to get to from Charlotte, approximately about a 30 minute drive from downtown Charlotte. They are located right off of I-85. There's plenty of parking available, the parking lot is well lit and clean. Each staff member, including the front desk was pleasant and greeted everyone. They were friendly and accommodating. This location was renovated recently and looks great! The front lobby, breakfast area, downstairs bathrooms and meeting rooms were spotless, regardless of the time of day. The temperature in the meeting rooms was very appropriate but could easily be adjusted, if necessary. Meeting room chairs were comfortable. There are many restaurants within a one mile radius of this hotel. read more

Well this wasn't the best Hampton Inn I've ever stayed in. The lobby looked nice and welcoming. Our room with 2 double beds was VERY cramped. There wasn't much space between the walk and/or in between the beds. Bathtub was super slow draining and not 100% clean. There is no closet, but instead there's an area behind the curtain to hang clothes ... kinda odd. There wasn't much at all at the complimentary breakfast. We were there early too, but they just didn't have much to choose from. The orange juice also tasted watered down. One good thing .... the bed was comfy. If I need another hotel in the area, I won't be coming here. read more

I usually won't give five stars unless I leave not feeling any negativity about my stay, but.... There was a little. EVERYTHING was great EXCEPT one thing. The breakfast. I get it. Covid-19 has upset the whole world, so I don't expect Hilton properties to be immune from the the effects. But I DO expect them to keep their brand. I DO expect them to continue to keep their customers as happy as possible. This is true: Hilton is only a good as a traveler's last stay. And one of the last thing if not THE last thing that a traveler experiences is a good breakfast to get them on the road. So, no cook-to-order. No eggs. No meat. No toast, or waffle, or pancake, etc. But what CAN you offer? Although I saw more offered than the last night's stay of muffin, yogurt, coffee combo (that was the only choice) at Hilton Garden Inn in Homewood, Alabama, I could offer more suggestions: milk, chocolate milk, RIPE bananas (instead of the green banana offered), or simply uptick the coffee bar. Offer more enticing options with coffee (syrups, powders, etc), and what happened to the simple packets of Hot Chocolate? Anyway, I know that I extended the one negative extensively, but as I said before. What we remember last is usually what we remember most. read more

Incredibly unsafe parking lot. Our truck was broken into, along with 2 others parked right beside it. Police told us this is a common, daily occurrence at this property. Hotel refuses to address it or put up cameras to protect guests. There are zero exterior cameras here. Protect yourself, your vehicle and your belongings. Do not stay here. read more

I don't usually write reviews on my hotel stays. I've been an honors member for years and always choose to stay at a Hampton Inn whenever possible. In December 2019, we stayed at the Hampton Inn in Concord/Kannapolis. Everything was fine until the next morning. I noticed a bug in my bed that I've never seen before. My husband and I looked it up on google and found that it was a bedbug. I took a few pictures, bagged the bug up and approached the manager on check out. We discreetly showed him the bug and explained the situation. He immediately gave us his card and said he would gladly give us a refund on the room, that we just had to call the booking company we used and explain to them the situation and to give them his name (Chris Walker). The booking company said they would look into it. A few days later, we get a letter in the mail stating that it's Hampton Inns policy not to issue refunds. It would have been nice to at least get an apology and maybe discount on the room. Needless to say, we'll be staying at hotels not affiliated with the Hampton Inn or the Hilton Inn. read more

Hampton Inn was the dog-friendly recommended hotel for folks showing dogs at the German Pinscher National Specialty and Concord AKC All-Breeds Show. Since Phil & I are more companion dog owner then show dog owner, we don't have a camper unlike many of the attendees (nor do we have camp chairs, bumper stickers, or show leads declaring our breed the best of the bunch). So we found ourselves spending two nights at the Hampton last weekend while we escorted our GP to her fourth show, as her breeders work on her championship points. The Inn is right off the highway, but not so close that you hear the traffic. The rooms are clean and feel updated; though the regular rooms don't come with a fridge or microwave. Beds are comfy, several varieties of hot coffee are always available in the lobby, and the breakfast had some cool microwaveable pouches (sausage biscuits, pancakes & eggs, etc) that one-up ye olde waffle iron. They welcome dogs, but also enforce a strict no-barking-disturbance policy. And to their credit, we didn't lose sleep over any canine caterwauling like we have elsewhere. The $99 rate is reasonable, and I'd stay there again if in the area. read more

We booked a room here through expedia.com. We were forced to leave within a couple of hours of our arrival due to a personal emergency and they refused to give us an even partial refund. For a hotel that claims to have great customer service, they certainly failed us. Arriving, we were greeted, the lobby was very clean & quiet. We were recognized as silver members & received our waters. The AGM was very accommodating he helped us check in & treated us as normal guests even being that we are employees. He was very knowledgeable and courteous checking us in and the heavy accent blonde girl was super nice as well. I overheard a customer get angry with her & she handled it excellently. The room was beautiful I love the wooden floors. Being on the 2nd floor it was still very quiet. The room was very spacious and had everything we needed. Definitely would come back and the staff made our one night stay worth while. read more

Recommended for stay for sporting event held nearby. The room was clean, quiet. The door key never worked.....had to get a new one each day (major headache). And although the hotel was smoke free, people are smoking all over the place outside, in the doorway, by the side door, by the pool. I only spent one night here. The internet was really slow (normal for a hotel, I guess). There were some defects in the room that I wouldn't expect in a hampton Inn - the fridge was all scratched up, and some of the outlets were coming out of the walls. Interesting stay...Hilton Chain has this butt-backwards phenom where their up brand (not talking Waldorf or Conrad, but Hilton, followed by Doubletree) sometimes have LOWER prices than their down brands (Hampton Inn - that'd be pretty down in the scheme of things) has more amenities, such as free breakfast and wi-fi. Sometimes, as is the case with this property, they even have an evening reception, but it would not be unusual to find - same vicinity - a Hampton that's priced as high as, or higher than, a Hilton or Doubletree! In this case, there really isn't an "up" brand near enough: so I settled for this. Sure enough, they have an evening reception. Granted, it's jug wine, Bud Light, and pub fare (as in, you wouldn't really think of eating it unless your taste buds' been dulled by a few cool ones), but I give them credit for trying. Breakfast selection was also a touch more varied than other Hamptons, but man, the quality just isn't there. But I guess at $90 a night, you get what you pay for, maybe a little more. My main problem was that the new Hilton App didn't work as it should. I selected a room with it and "checked in," However, after I picked up my keys, I couldn't get WiFi up on my devices. It turned out that I wasn't checked in after all. I think the front desk person should have verified that in the first place. When I asked for help at the front desk with connecting, I was told, "I'm new here, I don't know about all that." It took awhile before the person checked to see if I was actually checked in. Also, another app problem, my room was actually not ready when I checked in at 4 p.m. There was a brief storm and WiFi service went out, but it came back later. I stayed on the top floor, the 5th, and did not enjoy seeing wads of plastic sheeting and tied garbage bags in the little lobby area off the elevators the whole time. The hallway needed to be vacuumed and it was maybe ten degrees warmer than the rooms. This location is one of the nicer Hampton Inns, not one of the old "motel-style" properties and the room was clean and well appointed. The A/C worked great. It is also right off of I-85 and there are shops and restaurants nearby. read more

I had a terrible conversation with assistant GM in Hapton Inn Concord/Kannapolis, NC. I wanted to cancel the room since the air show was canceled. I even asked to change the date but he does not want to change the date either and was very rude. He said that's my fault and I have to pay it, even though the other Hampton was happy to refund our money for that weekend. They have terrible customer service. I do not think I can get any service in that hotel even if I stayed. I do not recommend to anybody this Hampton Inn Concord/Kannapolis, NC. read more

Very bad experience with desk front , lady on duty will not name made major mistake,and I never plan to stay here again, in the past I had very many great stays at the hotel but over the years it has plummeted.You never call a customer on their work phone number when you have made a mistake on your behalf. I had to drive back to hotel because I was told I did not give the attendant the currency that I ask change for, she opted to be an investigator and hunt down my fiancee while he was on an important business call, proceeded also to call his office. I do not cheat people so I choose to go back and did not want this person to lose their job if I had made the mistake but I knew what was in my wallet, she obviously was the one that made the mistake. No one ever called us back to apologize either after I voiced my concern.There are many other locations to stay at just drive a little further south down to Concord Mills and stay at a hotel there, you will be more pleased . Also the room was not very clean, and the hotel needs to be renovated. Just a FYI. read more

We were told at 5pm that our room wasn't ready and that it wouldn't be ready for another 30 minutes. Check-in time is at 3pm. Upon giving a little push-back and explaining we had to shower and be back on the road in an hour, they gave us another comparable room. When we got to the room, it took several swipes of the key card before the door would open. We also found out that the door needed to be slammed in order to latch. I had to check the door each time I closed it to make sure it latched. There were ants on the bedside table also. That night I woke up to a large bug bite on my foot. I turned on the light and there were ants in the bed. The next night my husband woke up with 2 huge bites on his legs as well. When I let the front desk know, they simply said "Sorry about that." I don't know if I was treated differently because I made the reservation through a third-party site or what...but they made sure to mention that fact to me at both check-in and check-out. We definitely will not be returning here again in the future. The continental breakfast was probably the only redeeming factor of our stay, but it definitely didn't outweigh the negatives. The bathroom had wallpaper peeling up in some of the corners revealing mold behind it, and the shower curtain was not nearly big enough to cover the shower from splashing water out onto the floor. There was a drain pipe from floor to ceiling behind the mirror in the bathroom that you could hear running throughout our stay. read more

Terrible!! their comforter bleached my shirt the EXACT PATTERN of it and they took my shirt and then called back a week later saying it was from ironing the shirt on the bed. I have not used an iron in 3 YEARS!!!!! so basically April from the hotel called me a lair and told me that's how it happened yet i never even touched the iron!!! NEVER STAY HERE!!!! After reading some of the Yelp reviews I was reluctant to reserve here. There is a competing property across the street that I usually choose when traveling but was told this Hampton offers discounts for the organization I was visiting. That turned out not to be true, but the other (my normal choice) hotel was more expensive. Cheap was the word for this trip. I was really surprised at how great it was. I travel quite a bit and have stayed at Hamptons just about everywhere and the benefit of bad coffee in the morning and cookies in the lobby were just about all I was used to. This place was beautiful. Everything looked brand new. The bed was about as comfortable as I have ever stayed in. The staff was very friendly even under pressure, as I was checking in and out their phone was ringing off the hook. I will definitely be returning. Some of the others giving reviews must not have had good experiences but I can say mine was GREAT! It was $90'ish and others here seem to have a problem with that. I would have rathered it be cheaper (remember cheap was what I needed) but was a very nice stay coming off of a week at a much cheaper Ramada in another city this same trip. I felt like I was in Heaven. I can't complain about the price considering the value. Also I loved the power strip by the bed. Hotels do not get the needs of today's traveler. We have noise machines, Ipods, Ipads, smart phones, etc. and often have difficulty finding sufficient power sources. This was a nice touch! read more
