Not quite sure what was in between the "clean" sheets on my wife's side of the bed. It's not a rock. Kind of squishy. Yuck.

My wife and I stayed here for a week and enjoyed our time. On the first night, my wife found a rather curious object and between her sheets. It was very late, so we just removed it and didn't bother. The next morning we went to see the manager at the front desk, and took the item which was similar to a rock in appearance, but it was squishy. The manager was mortified and apologized profusely, saying this was very out of character for her hotel. I took her at her word. The rest of the stay was pretty uneventful. We enjoyed the breakfast to each morning, which was prepared, graciously, and happily by the vivacious kitchen staff. I enjoyed being able to practice my Spanish with them, but they were also completely fluent in English, so it was the best of both worlds. The only complaint that I have other than the strange thing in the bed was the night we arrived. There was no one at the front desk. I got up in the middle of the night a couple of times to grab some thing and there was no one at the front desk. The gal that was working the overnights wasn't very interested in working.

We stayed there over Labor Day weekend 2021 while visiting KC. First impressions of the property were very good. Clean inside lobby and luggage carts were in good working order (not always the case). We were told we had the last room in the hotel as there were 2-3 wedding parties staying there. This became very important later in the evening. When trying to enter the room, whoever designed the room jammed one more 4 foot long section of desk into too small of a room leaving an opening of about 16 inches wide to get into the room between it and the corner of the wall. Not enough space in the event of an emergency in the dark. We were out fairly late the first night and got back around 10pm and saw most of the rooms still had the taped seal across the doorway saying it was cleaned...and no one was in there...so far. We got into bed and my wife noticed an ant on the bedside table and killed it and we went to sleep because there were no rooms to be found in KC as far as we knew. HVAC did not cool the room below 72 so I figured it was just set that way. Mentioned it the next morning the temps and the staff person said you are in room # aren't you? How she knew was beyond me...she said they had been having issues with that HVAC....so let's put the out of town person into that room. Breakfast was very good and up to Pre CoVID breakfasts of this chain. We get back to the hotel that second night and the nightstands had a significant number of ants (see photos) and it was like playing wack a mole...kill one and 3 more show up. Desk said the hotel was sold out but again the next morning lots of rooms were still sealed and not used when we got up in the morning. I mentioned the ants to the front desk manager on checking out and she said they knew it was a problem and had been for years this time of year....Now I have no idea what kind of pest control they are using or not using but for the top floor of a hotel to have a known ant problem seems a bit beyond the pale. No offer to lower the rate (we paid a top rate for the room for the weekend) or do anything. Normally I would not want a comp or reduction but this was an uncomfortable stay in a room they knew had problems plus ants. We will NOT be back at this property. There are plenty of others in the area for future visits. Buy some ant baits people!!!!! 0/10 stay away from this infested hole.

I was in this area for business and someone had mentioned that this hotel was a popular spot for other employees within the company. So I decided to book and I'm glad I did. This hotel offers: Plenty of parking cleanliness of common areas and hotel room microwave fridge comfy bed friendly staff free breakfast close to gas station close to food establishments My one complaint would be the noise from the construction that was going on during the day. I think they were renovating certain rooms and there was a huge construction trash bin outside my window. However, in the night when construction work had stopped the room was quiet. I would definitely stay here again if I had to come back for work.

I made a mistake and went with a Wyndham brand and had to leave the next day and was so glad Hampton Inn had room available. Checking in was a breeze. Staffs were friendly and helpful and made my stay a great experience. Due to Covid, we only got Togo breakfast in a bag which is just find with me since I had to be at work for 8am. I had to do my laundry and I was surprised it only cost $1 for each machine. I've been to other hotel were they charge $2 a machine. The dryer will not dry your clothes completely so you will have to dry it twice. The pool was indoor and only a certain amount of guest can be in there. I love my room. It has enough space that I like even though I'm there by myself for work. My room was bright and clean and I love the decor. I felt so safe in this location. There's plenty of restaurants around the hotel and gas station. I highly recommend this place for anyone who need a place to stay.

This place has earned awards from trip advisor for being outstanding, and it's well deserved. The queen room with two beds was spacious, clean and comfy. It was also beautifully appointed for a low/mid priced hotel. There was a family using the indoor pool and they had a nice business center and coin-operated laundry. The free breakfast is good with hot oatmeal and Belgian waffles among other selections. We will stay here again in the future.

The great gym! Perfect for circuits.

I stayed here for work. It is a great hotel and I will definitely consider other Hampton Inns based on my experience here. The room was clean. They state on a note that the wash even the comforter for each guest. Yay! The bed was comfortable, the staff was friendly, the free breakfast was good and their gym was great for circuit work. I also felt safe here which is obviously important. I slept well because of the bed and but also because it was so quiet. I could only hear the occasional door shut but otherwise no noise.

This really is the Lee's Summit Hampton Inn but doesn't it look like every other one?

My friends and I stayed here for the wedding for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located in Lee's Summit so about a half hour drive from Kansas City. At first we were shocked that it was so far from the city that we flew into, but soon realized the private nature of the venue was what truly gave it its charm. The rooms were painted with inspirational words to keep you motivated and energized. Rooms came equipped with small mini fridge, flat screen TV, ample closet space, and a standard sized bathroom. Beds were very comfortable to the point where we didn't want to wake up. A/C was strong in our rooms as well. Additionally, there was so much parking available here that you really can't go wrong. Rooms did not come with a private ironing board. The fitness center was also a 5-10 minute walk away from the hotel rooms but it was definitely one of the nicest centers I had been to in a hotel. Service was great- loved the free breakfast in the morning and the ability to take back some fruit for your room for later. Thank you Unity Hotel for being a great host to my friend's wedding.

It was also immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and the staff were amazingly friendly, accommodating and knowledgable. The handicap accessible room has wide doors, a roll in shower with a large shower chair built in, and best of all, A RECLINER Chair. I sleep sitting up, so finding a girl with a recliner is very, very rare! We ended up staying four nights which was two extra, because of the snow. When it was time to leave there was ice and snow all around my car causing my wheelchair to spin out. The security guard saw my troubles and called in help. Within a very few minutes, four of the Villages' Maintainence showed up with shovels and ice melt to dig the car out, they worked fast and efficiently, and fifteen minutes later, so could load my chair onto the ramp. The indoor staff were just as amazing. I'd give th Unity Hotel, five stars time 10 if I could.

Perhaps the first clue I should've had was the $73 price tag on Expedia. I feel I am guilty as much is the person selling me this horrible hotel experience. I should have known. Look at the pictures that I posted and you will see dirty floors, not maintained bathrooms, bugs on the ground, damp blankets the floor, and the floor smells like urine. If I hadn't booked on Expedia where I couldn't get my money back I wouldn't of stayed here. We tried to go to the pool to relax and the Jacuzzi looked like they allowed dirty people to take a bath in it. The water was so dirty and nasty! Our door wouldn't even lock properly. One of the things that turn my stomach was the man allowing his pitbull to take a P in the hallway. And then also another person that was renting a room walk down the hallway caring a dirty plunger with toilet paper sopping wet hanging off the side. This did not make me feel good about the place I was staying. On a better note, the person at the front desk was very pleasant and nice. Perhaps she was oblivious to the hell hole she was working in. Maybe in a few years when this owner gets their act together it will be a nice place.

Definitely not one of my more enjoyable stays…read more Let's be fair. The overall "stay" was OK. I needed a place to sleep for a night, and this hotel served that purpose. The hotel was picked by someone in our group. (She needs to find and use Yelp!) And, it's not like I booked a room expecting a stay at a 5-star resort. But I did expect a little better. Check in went fine. That was actually the high point. The room... oh dear... well, it appeared mostly clean and it didn't smell bad. I can say that about it. And, the bed was comfortable enough. The HVAC had an "always on" setting, which is a huge thing for me. Kudos there. And it pretty much kept the room the temp I wanted. But from there? Here we go... The comforter on the bed had a stain on it. Did it mean it wasn't clean? Probably not. But still - replace the comforter, eh? The room was definitely not the quietest I've ever stayed in. Not the LEAST quiet, but not far from it, either. It was fairly easy to hear people walking around on the third floor. (I was on the second floor.) There are no USB ports, so BYOA. But - beware! The outlets on the lamps in my room were almost too loose to use. Adapters fell out if the wind blew on them the wrong way. The chair had a huge burn hole in it. Let's just keep it in service as opposed to re-upholstering it or even, maybe replacing it. The sink had a slow drain. Yuck. The shower - wow, the shower. I'm 5'10". The shower head was at my nose. And, it felt like it was on a flexible hose inside the wall, because honestly, it pretty much came out of the wall when I tried to adjust it. That was fun. Water temp was good, it stayed hot. But water pressure? Forget about it. I get more pressure out of the yard hydrant at my house than I did out of this shower. Highly disappointing. The toilet - if you need help getting up from a sitting position, you're screwed using this toilet. It's so low, you might feel like you're sitting on the floor. Fun fact: in this building, due to the construction, each elevator entrance is supposed to be protected by a fire door that swings shut when the alarm is activated. That's kind of an important thing for safety. (Former fire marshal here.) Another fun fact: that's evidently optional at this hotel, because the door on the second floor is completely gone. Don't need it, right? Safety... second! Or third! Speaking of safety, every safety related sign in the elevator is gone. The glue looks good where the signs used to be, though. The wallpaper in the lobby is peeling. Bad. Does it affect someone's stay? No. Does it leave a bad impression of how much you care about your property? Of course. I didn't try the breakfast, but others in my party tried to grab some coffee on the way out. They said the cups were small, flimsy, and wouldn't easily take the lids, so they gave up. Maybe that's part of the plan? I also did not try the indoor pool, but there is one there if you want to be brave. Judging from the rest of the hotel... swim at your own risk. I thought about doing 1 star, but I did at least sleep OK. And there were a couple of redeeming qualities. But overall? I can guarantee that if I'm ever in the Lee's Summit area again, this is NOT going to be on my list of hotels to use. Ever. And you'd do yourself a favor avoiding it. It might be worth it to stay here for half the price I paid. Maybe.
