    A very comfortable bed.

A comfortable and convenient stay. This Super 8 may look a bit dated from the outside and the interior hallways, but the rooms have been recently renovated. The king size bed was quite comfortable and everything in the room was clean. The air conditioner was powerful, quickly cooling down the room and keeping it chilly. For the price, I didn't expect a lot of amenities, but the room also had a flat-screen TV, fridge and microwave. There was a power outlet near the bed with a 6x multiplier, making it easy to charge devices while watching TV or sleeping. Both checking in and out were fast too and the staff here are very friendly. I enjoyed my stay here.

These ants were on all of our pillows and the windows and AC vents!!

RUN! FLEE! ESCAPE! This hotel is a complete trash, the owners are complete trash, the front desk workers are complete trash! My mother and I came to Kansas City for a funeral and originally booked 4 nights at this hotel to be close to the home of the family. When we walked into our hotel room EVERYTHING WAS DAMP TO THE TOUCH!!! The room was so moist that everything felt wet even though it wasn't! We immediately went back to the front desk and told the receptionist about our room and she got an attitude and told us to run the air for 2 hrs. We went back to run the air and then left for 2 hours like she said. When we came back to our room IT WAS STILL DAMP WITH NO IMPROVEMENT!! We then went to tell the receptionist to give us another room...she begrudgingly gives us another room and has the nerve to tell us "that you guys are lucky because my manager wouldn't do this for you". She tried to make it seem like she was doing us a favor! We ignored her ignorant comment and went back to the room to unpack then all hell broke lose. We began fluffing our pillows for bed and ANTS WERE CRAWLING ALL OVER THE PILLOW!!! We then packed our things and immediately went to ask for a complete refund. The receptionist then says "you are not getting a damn refund". At that point we called the police because she kept making violent comments and motions. When the police came he informed us that its a civil matter and unfortunately they can't make "these kinds of owner's" give refunds to customers. He also informed us this hotel is in a bad part of town and that we should stay at hotels that are "not owned by these kinds of people". Then he apologized for our experience and helped us find nice hotels. Right when the officers were leaving, the manager of the hotel (Danny Pattel} got out of his car screaming "I no give refunds" Lol.... What a joke. We left, I certainly wasn't going to let this go! I wasn't gonna let this hotel keep any of my money! I called the corporate office and they were able to issue me a refund and they initiated an investigation against the hotel. Even though these hotels are franchises and individually owned, you can still call the corporate office (which is above the complaint/customer service hotline) and they will step in. If the corporate office gets so many complaints, they will take action so there brand will not be tarnished.

My friends and I stayed here for the wedding for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located in Lee's Summit so about a half hour drive from Kansas City. At first we were shocked that it was so far from the city that we flew into, but soon realized the private nature of the venue was what truly gave it its charm. The rooms were painted with inspirational words to keep you motivated and energized. Rooms came equipped with small mini fridge, flat screen TV, ample closet space, and a standard sized bathroom. Beds were very comfortable to the point where we didn't want to wake up. A/C was strong in our rooms as well. Additionally, there was so much parking available here that you really can't go wrong. Rooms did not come with a private ironing board. The fitness center was also a 5-10 minute walk away from the hotel rooms but it was definitely one of the nicest centers I had been to in a hotel. Service was great- loved the free breakfast in the morning and the ability to take back some fruit for your room for later. Thank you Unity Hotel for being a great host to my friend's wedding.

It was also immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and the staff were amazingly friendly, accommodating and knowledgable. The handicap accessible room has wide doors, a roll in shower with a large shower chair built in, and best of all, A RECLINER Chair. I sleep sitting up, so finding a girl with a recliner is very, very rare! We ended up staying four nights which was two extra, because of the snow. When it was time to leave there was ice and snow all around my car causing my wheelchair to spin out. The security guard saw my troubles and called in help. Within a very few minutes, four of the Villages' Maintainence showed up with shovels and ice melt to dig the car out, they worked fast and efficiently, and fifteen minutes later, so could load my chair onto the ramp. The indoor staff were just as amazing. I'd give th Unity Hotel, five stars time 10 if I could.

Definitely not one of my more enjoyable stays…read more Let's be fair. The overall "stay" was OK. I needed a place to sleep for a night, and this hotel served that purpose. The hotel was picked by someone in our group. (She needs to find and use Yelp!) And, it's not like I booked a room expecting a stay at a 5-star resort. But I did expect a little better. Check in went fine. That was actually the high point. The room... oh dear... well, it appeared mostly clean and it didn't smell bad. I can say that about it. And, the bed was comfortable enough. The HVAC had an "always on" setting, which is a huge thing for me. Kudos there. And it pretty much kept the room the temp I wanted. But from there? Here we go... The comforter on the bed had a stain on it. Did it mean it wasn't clean? Probably not. But still - replace the comforter, eh? The room was definitely not the quietest I've ever stayed in. Not the LEAST quiet, but not far from it, either. It was fairly easy to hear people walking around on the third floor. (I was on the second floor.) There are no USB ports, so BYOA. But - beware! The outlets on the lamps in my room were almost too loose to use. Adapters fell out if the wind blew on them the wrong way. The chair had a huge burn hole in it. Let's just keep it in service as opposed to re-upholstering it or even, maybe replacing it. The sink had a slow drain. Yuck. The shower - wow, the shower. I'm 5'10". The shower head was at my nose. And, it felt like it was on a flexible hose inside the wall, because honestly, it pretty much came out of the wall when I tried to adjust it. That was fun. Water temp was good, it stayed hot. But water pressure? Forget about it. I get more pressure out of the yard hydrant at my house than I did out of this shower. Highly disappointing. The toilet - if you need help getting up from a sitting position, you're screwed using this toilet. It's so low, you might feel like you're sitting on the floor. Fun fact: in this building, due to the construction, each elevator entrance is supposed to be protected by a fire door that swings shut when the alarm is activated. That's kind of an important thing for safety. (Former fire marshal here.) Another fun fact: that's evidently optional at this hotel, because the door on the second floor is completely gone. Don't need it, right? Safety... second! Or third! Speaking of safety, every safety related sign in the elevator is gone. The glue looks good where the signs used to be, though. The wallpaper in the lobby is peeling. Bad. Does it affect someone's stay? No. Does it leave a bad impression of how much you care about your property? Of course. I didn't try the breakfast, but others in my party tried to grab some coffee on the way out. They said the cups were small, flimsy, and wouldn't easily take the lids, so they gave up. Maybe that's part of the plan? I also did not try the indoor pool, but there is one there if you want to be brave. Judging from the rest of the hotel... swim at your own risk. I thought about doing 1 star, but I did at least sleep OK. And there were a couple of redeeming qualities. But overall? I can guarantee that if I'm ever in the Lee's Summit area again, this is NOT going to be on my list of hotels to use. Ever. And you'd do yourself a favor avoiding it. It might be worth it to stay here for half the price I paid. Maybe.

The local church paid for 2 nights for her to stay there and because she is temporarily homeless they kicked her out at 8am this morning. The owner didn't give any warning. This sweet lady didn't do anything wrong. She minded her own business and stayed in her hotel room. But because she was homeless they didn't want her there. They even told her it wasn't her fault. Then They made her sit in the lobby without her property while they collected her things in her room. This is unacceptable behavior by a business.

I arrive at 11, brown haired female staff member told me "check out is 11 so we still have to clean…read morethe room" (it was the only room available) so we leave and come back in an hour and and lady said it needs cleaned and it'll be like one or two more hours. We show up a little before the two hours is up and ask about the room and they already reserved it. Mind you we tried buying g the room beforehand so when check in time rolls around nobody would of taken the last room. She wouldn't allow that. We asked to leave a number for them to call to let us to let us know the room is ready and she wouldn't allow that either. If I could give negative stats I would. The staff isn't friendly either. You'd think with such a low quality hotel they'd try to make up for it for being nice and accomadting but no. Don't go here.

Perhaps the first clue I should've had was the $73 price tag on Expedia. I feel I am guilty as much is the person selling me this horrible hotel experience. I should have known. Look at the pictures that I posted and you will see dirty floors, not maintained bathrooms, bugs on the ground, damp blankets the floor, and the floor smells like urine. If I hadn't booked on Expedia where I couldn't get my money back I wouldn't of stayed here. We tried to go to the pool to relax and the Jacuzzi looked like they allowed dirty people to take a bath in it. The water was so dirty and nasty! Our door wouldn't even lock properly. One of the things that turn my stomach was the man allowing his pitbull to take a P in the hallway. And then also another person that was renting a room walk down the hallway caring a dirty plunger with toilet paper sopping wet hanging off the side. This did not make me feel good about the place I was staying. On a better note, the person at the front desk was very pleasant and nice. Perhaps she was oblivious to the hell hole she was working in. Maybe in a few years when this owner gets their act together it will be a nice place.
