I complained to manager Christine that I got sick after eating the waffles, and she refused to believe me and she was disrespectful to me. For that reason, I said I was going to make a review. And then when I tried to rent a room about a week later, I learned she put me on a do not rent list. I tried to talk to the owner, Danny Patel, about it, and he became hostile to me, called me a bitch and told me to get the f*** out, refusing to believe me and siding with his manager. This is the trashy management that they have here. The manager Christine lied about what happened, saying I was hostile because I had to change rooms, which I was not upset nor hostile over at all. The manager does not have to be honest, fair nor respectful because she knows however wrong way she treats people, the owner will back her up and be on her side. These people are trashy and they do not respect nor deserve good customers. You couldn't pay me to stay there again. And I did get sick after eating their self made waffles. Beware of this place. Don't waste your time or money here! This place is filthy and probably needs a visit from the health department. Management and front desk staff do not understand the meaning of hospitality. Customers are treated as if YOU are lucky THEY accepted your money to stay in this dump. The manager tries to intimidate customers and will kick you out even though there are prepaid days and will refuse to refund. Call the Better Buisness Buerue to make complaint. The front desk Assistant Manager is very rude and unprofessional. I csn in on vacation from Texas on October the 18th my free Night was for the 19th I called the property asked about early check in fee and if the room was available I was told the room was available and that the it would be a $ 50.00 early check in fee . When I arrived the front desk clerk didn't know what he was doing he said that early check in was $105.00 I was upset but paid the fee he didn't even really know how to charge it only to figure out how to charge me then to tell me a room was unavailable. I told him to cancel so I'm looking at my phone the next day and the hotel tried to charge my card for $15.00 so I called the front desk and informed the assistant manager (that's who she said she was ) she called me all kinda of liars and told me I need to let her talk , after I interrupted her telling her in looking at the charge that my banking institution just sent me she then hung up in my face I called back to still be called a liar i asked to speak to her manager she told me call back in 2 months when he's back in the country and hung up in my face again , I am a manger myself for Wyndham and I would never speak to a guest in the manner ( like a was a kid) she is very very Rude and shouldn't be anyone's Assistant Manager or working in Coustmer service at all read more

The woman at the front desk put myself and my two small children out BECAUSE I GAVE THE HOTEL A BAD REVIEW! But I had the room paid for for a whole month! The saddest part is every other bad review consisted of the same exact details as mine! The even sadder part is the fact the instead of apologizing or coming to a solution to fix the other guest problems the woman argues back in the reviews and proceeds to tell every person how every single thing they complained about was their own fault and the hotel was at fault for nothing! this is THE single handedly most unprofessional place I've EVER been to or had to deal with! I'm lost my place due to the property owner embezzling money every single tenant had 48 hrs to move. I have an eviction from years ago after a serious accident and not being able to walk for MONTHS so its been a struggle trying to find somewhere to rent so my kids have a home again. A hotel was an only option for the time being, I used EVERY dollar we had to rent that room for a month and I was kicked out LESS THAN 24 HRS AFTER CHECKING IN!!!!! BECAUSE OF A GOOGLE REVIEW! A comfortable and convenient stay. This Super 8 may look a bit dated from the outside and the interior hallways, but the rooms have been recently renovated. The king size bed was quite comfortable and everything in the room was clean. The air conditioner was powerful, quickly cooling down the room and keeping it chilly. For the price, I didn't expect a lot of amenities, but the room also had a flat-screen TV, fridge and microwave. There was a power outlet near the bed with a 6x multiplier, making it easy to charge devices while watching TV or sleeping. Both checking in and out were fast too and the staff here are very friendly. I enjoyed my stay here. read more

the room was clean and had plenty of space. most of the staff were nice. but Christine was rude and obnoxious. I rented this room because it had a pool. and I realize the pool is an amenity, but I could have gone to another hotel with the same amenity. when I checked in on Friday night I was told the pool would be open Saturday evening because it needed to be shocked. ok cool. Saturday came and I was told the pool would be open at 10 on Sunday. ok, not what I was told, but ok. Sunday came and the pool was still not open. I was told it would be open at 11, then 12, then by 3, then not at all. Christine all but yelled at me about how I didn't pay for a pool and it's not her problem. I had 3 young kids with me that were waiting to swim and were very disappointed that they weren't able to. and Christine didn't help matters at all with her rudeness or her attitude. I'm not sure who peed in her cheerios but it wasnt me and I am a paying customer. while the pool was my biggest complaint there was also the free breakfast. it consisted of cold cereal, waffles, and apples. Ivan honestly say I will not be staying at this super 8 again. until the staffs attitude is fixed, it is not a pleasant environment. and don't count on having the amenities they promise. read more

RUN! FLEE! ESCAPE! This hotel is a complete trash, the owners are complete trash, the front desk workers are complete trash! My mother and I came to Kansas City for a funeral and originally booked 4 nights at this hotel to be close to the home of the family. When we walked into our hotel room EVERYTHING WAS DAMP TO THE TOUCH!!! The room was so moist that everything felt wet even though it wasn't! We immediately went back to the front desk and told the receptionist about our room and she got an attitude and told us to run the air for 2 hrs. We went back to run the air and then left for 2 hours like she said. When we came back to our room IT WAS STILL DAMP WITH NO IMPROVEMENT!! We then went to tell the receptionist to give us another room...she begrudgingly gives us another room and has the nerve to tell us "that you guys are lucky because my manager wouldn't do this for you". She tried to make it seem like she was doing us a favor! We ignored her ignorant comment and went back to the room to unpack then all hell broke lose. We began fluffing our pillows for bed and ANTS WERE CRAWLING ALL OVER THE PILLOW!!! We then packed our things and immediately went to ask for a complete refund. The receptionist then says "you are not getting a damn refund". At that point we called the police because she kept making violent comments and motions. When the police came he informed us that its a civil matter and unfortunately they can't make "these kinds of owner's" give refunds to customers. He also informed us this hotel is in a bad part of town and that we should stay at hotels that are "not owned by these kinds of people". Then he apologized for our experience and helped us find nice hotels. Right when the officers were leaving, the manager of the hotel (Danny Pattel} got out of his car screaming "I no give refunds" Lol.... What a joke. We left, I certainly wasn't going to let this go! I wasn't gonna let this hotel keep any of my money! I called the corporate office and they were able to issue me a refund and they initiated an investigation against the hotel. Even though these hotels are franchises and individually owned, you can still call the corporate office (which is above the complaint/customer service hotline) and they will step in. If the corporate office gets so many complaints, they will take action so there brand will not be tarnished. read more

I am writing this review even though I did not even have the opportunity to stay at this hotel. I am an active duty service member and was traveling on official military orders. I made the reservation on line through a third party site for one night only. I contacted the hote to let them know that my flight was delayed and would be checking in very late. Unfortunately, my flight was delayed even more and I did not get in to Kansas City until 2am. I had not slept and it slipped my mind to contact the hotel. I was still charged the fee for my stay even though I never checked in. I contacted the hotel and spoke with Danny Patel, the manager. He first told me that I should have called as soon as I had known I wasn't going to make it, to let them know. He and I went back and forth as I tried to explain to him that I was air borne and had no way to contact the hotel. He then said that the hotel policy is a 6pm cutoff for cancellations and that he could not refund my stay. I told him this was unfortunate, but if this is how flexible they are with active service members that I would instruct my Marines to not use his establishment. He got very confrontational at this and told me to NOT come back to his hotel and that I was not welcome and that he was trying to run a business and not go bankrupt. If you would like to stay at hotel who obviously places profits over customer service, this is absolutely the place for you. read more

FILTHY. Disgusting. Arrived and checked in. Went to the first room and found the carpet totally trashed, steaky mirrors, pee on the toilet seat. I figured maybe cleaning staff missed the room and went down to the front desk. The receptionist didn't seem surprised and told me their vacuum was broken; I figured that didn't really explain anything but went along with it. They gave me a new room. The pictures I have attached is of the 'second freshly cleaned room' they had moved my family to. Again, nothing was clean. You can tell cleaning staff collects the trash and not much else. The a.c. in the room was off and the room smells awful, there was trash all over the carpet. I picked up a some of the garbage and went back to the front desks and showed the receptionist and she shrugged it off saying it was normal that the staff misses some stuff.... We looked for other hotels in the area and couldn't find anything that late at night unless it was twice the price. I ended up grabbing my own lysol wipes from the car and cleaning the room just to get us through the first night. We saw a mouse before high tailing it out of here. When we were packing up to leave what would have been a two night rental we happened to hear another family going through the same issue with their own room. Someone who I think was either the day guy for the front desk of the office manager even chased the poor women out the front door yelling "No REFUND!" We didn't even try checking out with him, just tried to quietly leave the key at the desks. I plan on forwarding these pictures to the super 8 franchise; they should know that their image is being dragged through the dirt by this locations management. read more

The room was filthy. The bathroom reeked of urine. There was dirt in the tub and hairs in the tub and sink. It was obvious that it hadn't been dusted or cleaned in quite sometime. The carpet was dirty, linens had holes, etc. We had to stay because it was the only room available and it was the night before the eclipse, or we would have left. The only redeeming quality was that my kids got a muffin in the morning. Don't stay here! I'll be at home boiling our clothes that we slept in. read more

The Super 8 property in Lees Summit, Missouri, is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at ... what a mess. Housekeeping in our room was so far below average that I struggle to find the right words. As we were checking out yesterday morning, we found someone's leftover pizza crust in the drawer between the beds. I'm sure the Gideons did not leave it with their Bible. The coffee maker in the room was missing the tray that held the coffee filter, making it completely useless. The gentleman at the front desk was equally as useless and said he couldn't do anything about it. The toilet in our room was a questionable area for housekeeping as well. I don't think the franchisee has spent money updating the rooms since the Eagles released their Hotel California album in 1976. Our family has been staying at this Super 8 twice a year for almost 10 years. It has always been a modest place, but clean and well ran. Management/ownership recently changed. We stayed there again in September 2013 and it may actually rank as the worst motel experience of my life. At check in we discovered that one bed had been made with twin sheets (apparently, because they didn't fit) and the other bed was actually dirty sheets. Saturday morning we hung our towels up to dry and tried to put out the do not disturb sign (wasn't one). We got back in late around 11PM. Sunday morning we discovered our towels had all been taken but not replaced. We checked in with the front desk to get some towels and were told, nope, there were no more towels. On the breakfast front, the previous decent spread of the past 10 years was gone and replaced with a rolls, oranges, and coffee. When I asked the front desk about the towels when we were checking out I was told "oh, the laundry just got done and we can give you towels now." Really? When we're checking out? So, if you don't like to eat much for breakfast, like sleeping in a dirty bed, like pillows the size of a shoebox, like towels that are super thin and small (when you get them), then I highly recommend this Super 8. I realize the new owners are just getting started, but going super frugal is not the way to do it. There is no excuse for not having enough linen and towels in a motel. read more

Worst hotel experience ever. Reserved a room for 2 nights weeks in advance only to arrive and be told they could only accommodate one night. The front desk staff was unprofessional and disorganized. The worst though was having a staff member try to enter our room at 9 am while I was in the shower. No knock, just tried to open the door. When I called the front desk, I was told they were trying to bring me room service. Who knew a Super 8 offers room service?!?! We had a great experience at this hotel. It was the only hotel with any rooms left in the Kansas City area because the Stones were in town. Even though no one else had rooms, they didn't raise their rates- we were charged a very reasonable rate. Our room was very clean, was nicer than I expected, and much better decorated than I would have expected from a budget hotel. The staff were extremely friendly, and to top it off, it's about 100 yards away from a Perkins! read more

Do NOT block off rooms for reservations here!!! I blocked off several rooms for my wedding; it took 3 phone calls to get the rooms reserved. When they were reserved, they were only put under my fiancé's name and not mine. I asked if my name could be added on and was told this was impossible. When giving my contact information, I spelled my email address to the manager as well as a staffing person; this also took multiple attempts in spite of spelling things out and having the staff read my email address back to me for confirmation. I received one email during our correspondence to reserve the contract and block off rooms until 5/15/15. I also confirmed this date in a phone conversation to ensure I passed along accurate information to our wedding guests. Upon calling Super 8 on 5/14/15 to book a room for my photographer, I was informed that the room reservation had been cancelled as no one had booked for our wedding and multiple attempts had been made to contact the point person for the reservation. Super 8 had not been in contact with my fiancé or anyone else regarding the contract. I received ONE phone call about a month prior to this asking to make sure that my guests reserved rooms at the Super 8 and no other contact attempts through either email or by phone. Also, at least a couple of guests HAD booked through Super 8 at the point of this phone call. I asked if we could still get the group rate as the contract stated rooms would be held until 5/15/15 and was told this was impossible. In spite of this, I was still going to book my photographer a room here and asked if I could just book under the regular rate. Again, I was told that they would not be able to have me pay for the room of another person upfront. I was very happy to pass my business along to another hotel in the area and would recommend anyone staying in Lee's Summit to do the same as there are other options with similar price points in town. read more
