This was a great find. I was looking for hotels in the Myrtle Beach area but wanted to be away from the touristy section, and this one showed up. The room was spacious, there were plenty of amenities, and it was conveniently located near Murell's Inlet Marsh Walk and other restaurants. The facility is well-kept, and the staff is pleasant.They do offer complimentary breakfast, which is pretty basic but still nice to have. Do check out the widow's walk on the 4th floor; it's a great place to watch the sunset. read more

My stay was too short here and I would definitely like to go back. I was looking for a place to spend the night after going to Night of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens. Inlet sports lodge was a deal and close by so it worked out well. The best idea I had was to also make a reservation at Costa which is their onsite restaurant. You don't need to worry about drinking and the dinner was phenomenal (separate review for Costa coming soon). While I was only there a short time, I could really see that this one off hotel is a great stay. The lady who checked me in was super helpful and got us everything we needed. They sell snacks and alcoholic beverages at the front desk and you can even get 6 packs or bottles of wine. We only had about an hour after the lights to check in and get to dinner so we quickly went to the room and got settled. The first thing you notice is the big wooden doors to the room that look hand carved. The rooms are really spacious and have a full kitchen setup and living room area with a pull out couch too. We missed breakfast, but they do offer something downstairs. We did go up to check out the widows walk on the roof though which would be great to have drinks at the end of the day in the summer. You can see the pool from up there (which we also didn't use because it was december) and it was small but nice. Some of the upgrades seemed out of place, but not in a bad way. More like someone who had a lot of money created this place, but had never built a hotel before so they put money into it in some strange ways. Things like the wooden carved doors, extra shower sprayers, and vessel sinks in the bathroom don't exactly make sense for an affordable stay spot, but are a welcome additions anyway. I can't wait to come back for a longer stay and hopefully warmer weather. read more

After 12 days on the road we rolled onto Murrells Inlet SC and stayed here for two days. The room was large with a full kitchenette, excellent for families and long stays. We were on vacation so cooking was not on our agenda. But, having a full size refrigerator with an ice maker was a huge plus. The Lodge was quite the weekend we stayed and offers a fishing cleaning house for the sport fishing enthusiasts and they also have an outside grilling station in the courtyard for the guests to use. Oh yeah, there's some golf courses around too. We did feel the tub/shower was outdated and needed an upgrade to just a shower. The overall appearance of the lodge is good but the blinds in the breakfast room seriously needs dusting when we were there. The continental breakfast was good. Due to COVID-19 your breakfast is served to you cafeteria style, tip these people, it's the nice thing to do. We will return to the Lodge because of its location to everything within reason. Costa restaurant was the place to go for drinks later in the evening away from the Marshwalk crowds and a nice quiet dinner. read more

We stayed here for a weekend back in November and to say our experience was terrible , is an understatement. Our toilet didn't work ALL weekend and had to call numerous times to the front desk . Throughout the weekend, we had to use our friends bathroom down the hall! The Customer Service there was absolutely terrible , as the front desk told us "sorry, there's nothing we can do." Also, good luck trying to talk to managaement there. NO ONE returns your calls , emails, texts. So unprofessional. we deserve some sort of compensation back because we paid all of this money to stay here and we couldn't even use our own bathroom. I have reached out MULTIPLE times since early November and no one has gotten back to me. Absolutely ridiculous.Do NOT stay at this hotel when vacationing at Murrells Inlet. read more

My wife and I stayed at the Inlet Sports Lodge this past week. We drove down from Long Island NY as part of a golf school vacation package. We found the staff incredibly friendly, the service excellent and the rooms and facilities perfect. Our only slight disappointment was the pool size and location but it was fine for families with children. Caroline, Denise and the entire staff made us feel right at home there and could not have been better hosts. Recently, my family and I stayed here while visiting some people in Murrells Inlet. The hotel is beautiful with all sorts of special architectural details and creative decorations. It has a maritime theme and was built about five years ago. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. I especially recommend checking out their "Widow's Walk" observation deck on the 4th floor. You can see the Atlantic Ocean in the distance. It's fun just getting up there since it's only accessible from a stairwell on the 3rd floor that made me feel like I was going to a secret place. While the name (Sports Lodge) might suggest ruggedly furnished, basic accommodations, this is actually a really comfortable, well furnished inn that I wholeheartedly recommend. read more

This is a really nice place to stay. It's not overly large; 3 floors, maybe 20 rooms/floor max. Rooms are spacious and offer a kitchenette with a full size refrigerator, mini stove, microwave, and even a mini dishwasher. TV is on the small side at maybe 32", but that's about the only thing I'd improve. They have a hotel restaurant that they just opened, Corva, which looks amazing but was not open over the Labor Day holiday so unfortunately we were unable to try it. Definitely do if you're coming here though as the menu sounds awesome. They do not allow pets so plan to board your furry family member(s). read more

This hotel is a great place to stay while visiting Murrell's Inlet. My room (#311) was an efficiency with a king bed and pull out couch. The kitchen offered a full size refrigerator, two burner stove and a dishwasher. The bathroom provided the comforts of home. The Continental breakfast policy changed a bit during the pandemic, you now are required to make your breakfast selection from an extensive menu the night before for pickup starting at 8 am. This new policy may not work for early risers but there's no shortage on items you can select. So in spite of the pandemic limitations this hotel was a great choice! The only reason I did not give this hotel a five was due to the fact that the WiFi in my room was not working. I reported the issue only to be told I have to keep trying to log in. The WiFi did work fine in the area of the main entrance but was never resolved in my room. read more

A Murrells Inlet secret place . It is new and the owner has spared no expense on comforts. A full kitchen in your room nicely stocked with plates, pots,pans, a blender for Icy drinks, paper towels ... The bathtub is wide and has a glass curtain. The water is hot and the jet full body spray is fantastic. The linens are soft and full. There are Terrycloth robes to wear. The staff is friendly. The coffee pot is always available. The icemaker is in your room in the refrigerator freezer. Even the cole machine charged only 50 cents for canned sodas. It's a great place . read more

My husband and I went for a week of quiet time. This lodge was perfect. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful when we had questions and they did not hesitate to go above and beyond when we needed something. The cleaning staff would wait until we pulled the Do Not Disturb off the door then they would make another round to clean our room. It was a happy surprise when we would leave after 11am and come back in the evening and they had it cleaned. The lodge is centrally located so we were within half an hour of everything. We will definitely stay there again when we return to Myrtle Beach. read more

Terrific and unique place. Stayed here for the Brookfield Garden Christmas Lights thing my girlfriend wanted to go to. Very greeting staff and helpful. The rooms are terrific. Hardwoods, creative design inside and a crazy cool shower (they even give you directions on how to use it!). They have a little pantry if you need eats or drinks. Neat little courtyard and outside surroundings. It's a little bit pricey - $100 offseason at Christmas - and we could have stayed in Myrtle for much less. But we were glad we made this choice. It was a nice stay and close to the gardens. One thing of note: Both of the cab drivers we had to-and-fro were very friendly and wonderful guys. One let us stop at the c-store on the way home and I bought him a bottle of tea. They are an asset to Murrells. I told the front desk guy about how pleased we were with the cabbies, since he called them, and he was glad to hear it. Don't be put off by the whole "Sports Lodge" thing. It may be at certain times, but it was a nice hotel when we were there. The 8-foot doors into rooms are neat. The outdoor corridors are fun and if I wake up at 3am I can run down to the lobby and buy a frozen pizza!! Highly recommend trying this place. It's different, but in a great way. read more

Hands down the nicest hotel I've stayed at in this price range. The decor is stunning. The bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed the fancy jet spray shower. The variety of Shea butter and green tea soaps was a pleasant touch. The location was quiet. The staff was friendly. A small breakfast of cereal, muffins/bagels, fruit, and fruit juices is complimentary with your stay. Be sure to try the award winning she-crab soup at the hotel restaurant, Bliss! Spent the 4 day Thanksgiving holiday here and was so nice. Staff so friendly - also the wait staff next door at Bliss are really nice too - If you drink too much they offer to go get the luggage dolly to get you back to your room - haha. Anyway room was immaculate. Had little trouble navigating the state of the art sink and bathroom faucets but once you figure it out - you feel like an idiot you were pushing instead of pulling - very humbling! Dinner was excellent for Thanksgiving with a table right next to fireplace. Location is great for just driving down the street to local restaurant favorites. Highly highly recommend this hotel. The staff was friendly. The rooms were gorgeous and new and very clean. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The shower has an above shower head and body jets which was great. Kitchenette with granite countertops and under mounted sink, full size fridge and a table and chairs made for a comfortable room, And the location was central to all attractions. There were plenty of places to choose in the area but it you are looking for a nice, new hotel this is the place. And with Bliss Restaurant right next door you don't have to go far for a great meal. Great place!! I recently went to Murrells Inlet on a business trip and stayed over at the Sports Lodge for a few days. Friendly staff! Very helpful! I definitely lost a couple of room keys, needed more towels, and late night snacks...and they more than accommodated my needs :) I had never been to Murrells Inlet before, so I of course, needed to know all of the hot spots. I was told to go over to Wicked Tuna for good sushi, Uncle Tito's & Crooked Floor for late night drinks and food, and over to the pier to see a little ocean and a little sand :) They also gave me directions and called taxis for me whenever I needed a little assistance. LOVE this place! My husband and I stayed a weekend here recently when we got married and did not want to leave! It's so peaceful and cozy being far enough away from the Marshwalk you don't hear the live music but the perfect closeness when you ready to go there or come back! The rooms are so perfect! King bed, granite like counter tops in the bathroom and kitchenette. The kitchen has a large fridge, stove top, microwave, undermount sink, garbage disposal, blender, toaster, coffee maker, the works! The bathroom is elegant and spa like! Body jets in the shower a cool basin sink! Free wifi, flat screen TV, couch, table, and sitting area all in the room! Complimentary breakfast each morning and friendly staff at the front desk! I've been staying here for years when I play golf in Pawley's Island. Friendly staff. The rooms are clean and nicely appointed. They have hardwood floors, comfortable beds, and a kitchenette with full size fridge, microwave, cooktop, dishwasher and granite countertop. There are lots of TV channels and free wifi although it's not real fast. The best part of the room is the shower which has 4 body jets. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere to stay south of Myrtle Beach. read more

This is a wonderful place to stay on a quiet street with spacious mini-suites at a very reasonable price. They seem to cater to fishing and golfer sportsmen, and even have an outdoor storage locker for each room. The rooms have hardwood floors which are actually clean instead of carpet that hides the long history of previous guests. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator/freezer, sink, range, microwave, plates, glasses, silverware, and a dishwasher. The bathroom has a large tub and shower with a multi-function overhead nozzle and four horizontal nozzles for a full body rinse and water massage. The exhaust fan works so well it prevents the bathroom from steaming up even with all that spray in the shower. The climate control works very well and there is a ceiling fan and windows that actually open. The TV has a large number of channels that are as easy to use as our cable at home. There is a sofa and table and chairs. The room was beautifully appointed and there are even bath robes provided. There is not much of a view, but you can see the inlet from the widows walk. Overall, a luxury experience at the price of a national chain hotel. read more

-Hidden Gem- We've stayed here twice now, and each time we have found the value to be incredible, the space to be welcoming, and the staff to be friendly. Most beach-type places I prefer to stay on the beach. However, in this area I'm more than content staying here and going to one of the MANY public beach accesses which are usually less crowded. We requested a top floor corner room on reservation, and this request was granted. If you play golf, there's secure storage adjacent to the parking lot for your clubs so you don't have to carry the upstairs. If you fish, there's a fish cleaning station with cold storage. Only negative of this place is that it's on the verge of needing some updates. read more
