We checked in unexpectedly in this hometown of N.C because our car broke down. We decided to stay here for 2 nights (8/04 - 8/06). The staff are very nice and accommodating. They let us checked in before 12 noon instead of 3 p.m. Our room is very clean and well stocked with supplies. Free breakfast was served the following day and it was excellent. They were friendly and attentive to our needs. Ms. Annie who is in charge with the dining area is very professional. She has this warm, hospitable personality. It takes away our stress that day in buying another car. From the desk receptionist, our dining lady and room cleaners. We have gave them all an A+. Highly recommended place to stay in. read more

We have been staying here through out the years although have not been back for many. Hotel is tired and could be cleaner but suitable for a one night stay. This was only my second time ever staying at a Hampton Inn, but I'm ready to sign up for whatever "rewards program" they might offer me. I am a sucker for a nice fluffy bed and pillows with crisp white, soft linens. This is the only place that does it right without having to pay a premium. When did Hampton Inns get swanky? Seriously, have they always been nice? The one in my home town seemed a little sucky, so I always just avoided them. The good: flat screen tv, fluffy pillows, awesome linens, decent free breakfast, good free coffee, nice branding (they've got this whole "road less traveled" thing going on and it features really nice black and white photography--I dig it), good customer service, very pretty bathrooms. The bad: I can't really think of anything bad. I just wish they'd offered me a plush white robe to complete my experience. read more

Hampton Inn historically has been wonderful experiences for us and this stay was the same. 8/30 to 9/1/19, it was family reunion time again and we had a choice to stay at The Hilton Garden In or Hampton Inn. We had a not so good experience at The Garden before so this was a no brainer. The Hampton Inn will always be our first choice. The hospitality was above what we could ask, we were greeted warmly, check in was fast and we were given bottles of water, the rooms were clean and comfortable. I always want to take their beds home with me. It was centrally located to everything which was really nice. They offer free breakfast, I didn't eat I was so comfortable in the room I can't rate but with Cracker Barrel just a walk across the parking lot missing breakfast was not a big deal. I would come there again in a heartbeat reunion or not just to stay and see the local sights. read more

There was a man working down at breakfast this morning, Armond, and he is absolutely delightful. He was making sure that all food was fresh and hot and took the extra measures to check in with all guests to be sure that their experience was top notch. This kind jovial man helped me start my morning off right! Other notes- hot coffee and fresh cookies upon arrival. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Nice furnishings. My only qualms (and these are so tiny in perspective) were I found some grounds in my coffee from the night before and the shower water pooled up a bit before draining. As I said, very small. We stayed 1 night to break up our 21 hour drive from rhode island to florida. Hotel and room were very clean. Staff was friendly and courteous. We got to enjoy the pool and the free breakfast. The pool was a modest size but got the job done and the water was warm which is always a plus. The breakfast was decent. With eggs, biscuits and gravy, bagels, pastries, a waffle station and cereals. Definitely missing the bacon though. That made us sad lol. If i had one complaint. Its the pillows. They are pretty bad. Way too soft and bumpy. All and all. It was a good experience. i'd recommend this location. read more

We arrived late on the Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving. It was a quick stop off of 95, while we traveled from Maryland to NC. Our room faced 95 and you could see the traffic, but the room was very quiet. Check-in was fast, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast for excellent (as far as a free hotel breakfast goes). The fruit salad was fresh and tasty and there were several hot options. Free newspapers and coffee to go. They also had bag breakfast to go, just in case you didn't have time to sit down and eat. I would definitely stay here again while traveling. read more

The rooms are very clean, the beds are big and soft you will sleep like a baby. They also have a full free breakfast in the morning. We had a two queen room for one night on our way south on 95. Lee checked us in and gave us our first excellent experience with the hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable as well as pleasantly appointed. We frequently stay at Hamptons for the pool and inclusive hot breakfast. This breakfast nook was among the best. The apples were wrapped for cleanliness and they offered fresh pressed fruit juices in ready to go cups. The boiled eggs were in-shell. The food was fresh and delicious as we expected and the service also set this breakfast nook apart. This morning the attendant asked to help us clear our used dishes and held polite conversation. The hotel is located in walking distance of several restaurants, this is a great place to stop for the night. Military discount too. Thanks for that! read more

This Hampton Inn was not on the level of what we are accustomed to when we stay at Hampton Inns. The bed was like sleeping in a hammock. The room and furniture appeared worn and out dated. The hot water was sporadic at best. Overall the hotel was clean and the staff was friendly, it is just in need of many up dates. read more

What can I say?? The rooms we got were clean and the beds were comfortable. Plenty of towels and hot water. Best thing was the staff!! We were greeted by each one with a "Good morning!" and "Have a safe trip!" There were two breakfast staff that were exceptional--Vernon and Selma! They made us feel like family!! Rolled in at 1 am, tired from a long day on the road. The front desk employee was SO kind and efficient helping me book a room for my family. We were pleasantly surprised by the room - 2 queen beds, very comfortable and clean! The free breakfast was fantastic for our crew. A mixture of hot and cold items, all fresh. The staff in the breakfast area were great - as soon as they saw the kiddos come in, they each brought them a coloring book and crayons to keep them busy. They kept the area very tidy and well stocked. We appreciated your hospitality! read more

It looked nice from the outside, but reeked of smoke as soon as we came into the lobby. If this was an indication of the condition of the rest of the hotel, we didn't even want to spend a second longer, much less an entire night. Instead, we decided to stay at the Sleep Inn right next door. First impressions are everything. If Hampton Inn wants to invite guests, their lobby shouldn't smell like an ashtray! read more

I'm a Hilton honors member. I booked a stay here with my family for the night. The first room the AC was set at 64 but the room was 70. We changed to the room right next door - same problem only its 69 instead of 70. By this point it's 11:30pm and we are exhausted. My kids get into bed and I find a HUGE black hair on our sheets. Then notice hair on the phone as I call down for foam pillows as I am allergic to feathers- which were also about half the size of what they were supposed to be. The pillows were so small they looked comical on the beds. They are out of foam pillows- someone even took the one in the closet, and the extra plastic laundry bag was obviously hung back up by a hotel guest (possibly used?) not house keeping. The bed springs were shot on the edge of our bed. This is really crazy for me to say because I love Hampton but I would not stay here again. read more

We always stay at a Hampton Inn when we travel. We stayed at the Roanoke Rapids for 1 night. The first thing I did was to examine the sheets. I don't usually do this because all the Hamton Inns we stayed at had crisp clean sheets. Well to my surprise there was hair on the sheet and the sheets looked like they haven't been changed in a week or more. Totally unacceptable! I complained to the Manager and they moved us to a suite down the hall. The sheets there were clean but did not have that crisp look about it. Their cleaning staff needs to be replaced. We should not have paid anything for this one night stay. read more

We like Hampton Inns. They are predictable: clean, up to date, with good accommodations and free internet. We travel a lot and most places we stay are forgettable. Not this place. The breakfast crew, Lisa and Vernon, were super friendly. You can tell that they love what they do, enjoy talking it up with the guests and made our stay memorable. This used to be my "Go To" hotel chain up and down the East Coast. I've been stopping at this location for years. Pulled back the covers to get into bed and YIKES didn't expect or need to see THAT dried blob. Sheets were never changed but the bed had been made up as though the room had been cleaned. Notified night management, no one apologized and changed my room. In the morning received a partial credit and apology but the visual still remains. GROSS!! read more

Stayed here NYE. Very nice updated hotel with a great breakfast with a couple hot items. Saves a lot of time and effort (and money for a family) in the morning not having to do another stop. Rooms were big and bathrooms great! Microwave and small fridge in room was very nice. Was able to keep our drinks cold for the next days drive. Only thing I hated was having the coffee maker in the bathroom which I don't consider sanitary. Didn't need it as they had fresh coffee made downstairs (and hot water and tea selection!). The hallways were very well decorated and each room has a picture on the outside of the door to avoid confusion. Very posh for the price paid. Lots of choices nearby for dinner. Stayed at a Hampton in Neptune Beach and same thing there though they did a much more elaborate breakfast! We will be looking for Hamptons from now on. read more
