Bathroom wall is peeling and un kept

So there is a horrible smell in the room, cobwebs cover every surface of the walls, one of the beds is uneven and tips. The video shows the horrible sound in the bathroom. Did I mention that the room stinks?? Breakfast food is powdered eggs and some spicy potatoes, and some thin sausage patties. Not great at all. There's a black, dirty handprint on the wall, and it looks like it hasn't been renovated in here in over 10 years. Probably 20. There wasn't any provided shampoo in the shower. No mini fridge or microwave. I can't wait to get home and shower this place off of me. It is not worth the price to stay here.

Stayed here for one night on a business trip driving from Fairview to Quincy. The hotel is located at the end of a strip of hotels and is near a ton of restaurants and strip malls. Upon check in the staff was really friendly. I had a room on the third floor, basic room with basic tv channels but seemed to be an upgraded bathroom. The room was kind of musty when I first walked in but I couldn't tell if that was from the heater or what. This is small hotel with only 3 floors and an elevator, an old elevator at that. They offer breakfast but I didn't eat any because hotel food usually doesn't sit well with me. Decent stay for a place to crash for one night.

    Rotten, moldy breakfast...to-go bag!

This hotel was a mess. I checked in on their app, came in and got a different room (no big deal). I checked out of my room and they apparently mixed up my room and had me in the original room and the other one somehow. How do you mess that up?!? Then the icing on the cake here was the moldy, rotten apple in my to go breakfast bag. That could not have been accidentally missed and was blatantly done. I would stay away from this property.

This is the main floor in the lobby by the elevator

The AC in our room did not work at all. Someone came to fix it twice and it still did not work.

General - I have never stayed at a Drury Inn before and I had heard good things about them so…read moredecided to give them a try on my last road trip with family. Location - This Drury was in a suburb (Fairview Heights) close to St. Louis. Lots of great restaurants and shopping are just a short drive away. There is also a decent sized mall just down the road. Rooms & Building - After staying at a couple Drury locations, you will notice that each one follows a similar pattern. Lots of seating in the lobby (which is great when getting food), nice size pool and hot tub areas, and sprawling complexes with additional seating nook found throughout. Our room was nice and comfy and easily fit our family of five. The building was in good condition and easy to find right off of the highway. Amenities - This hotel had a cool inside/outside pool that my kids loved to play in and nice (a little small but still relaxing) hot tub. Parking was free and utilized a large, private lot. There was also an office center and a small convenience store to purchase items from. One of the main selling points for me was their free evening dinner and free breakfast. Oh, and I can't forget about the free popcorn in the lobby. Food - While staying here, you are able to take advantage of a free breakfast and dinner buffet. The breakfast layout is your standard hot/cold/continental buffet. Hot options include eggs, breakfast potatoes, breakfast meat, sausage gravy, and waffles. Continental options are available too such as yogurt, cereal, breakfast breads, fruit, etc. I have to say that Drury had the best biscuits I have ever had for a hotel's breakfast buffet. I ate so much biscuits and gravy here, ha! The dinner buffet was great. At first, I thought it would just be a great way to save some $$, even if it wasn't the most enjoyable but the food was actually satisfying and filling. Food included hot dogs, soup, salad, pasta, meatballs and mashed potatoes, nachos, etc. Adults also get three free alcoholic drinks that include various cocktails, beer and wine. The kids can enjoy AYCD soda. Vibe - Easy going and super friendly staff. All the staff worked extra hard to make sure all of the guests were having a great stay, super cool to see. The hotel is definitely geared towards family but includes some nice higher-end touches like comfy seating areas, relaxing pool areas, and a decent size gym. With that being said, there will be a lot of kids running around but it wasn't as loud and crazy as I thought it would be. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. Price & Final Verdict - I paid about $100 a night. Great bang for your buck, especially when you included the free food and drinks that you can take advantage of. Drury's are a great place to pick if you want a casual all-inclusive experience while traveling, especially with kiddos.

Pro's: Front desk and kitchen staff are so very warm and helpful. Room was quiet and comfortable…read more Con's: run-down. Manager keeps light off in the area around the dining room (tables set up) without recognizing that people sit there for reasons other than waiting for breakfast and evening "kickback". I know they use the lights as messaging to the guests when kickback starts (Though NEVER at other Drury's) but the manager (woman with long blonde hair) walked past me twice sitting in the dark rather than offering to turn on the light while I work on my laptop. Food choices for kick back don't take into account non meat eaters like all other Drury experiences I have had (It's not really free when the room rate (159.00) is much higher than others in the area). I would not recommend this particular Drury though I highly recommend the other Drury's!

And that why the rate was only 11,000 points and I thought to myself this is gonna be brutal but..... when I got the front desk. I asked very nicely if I could have a set of keys and go up and inspect the room before I brought anything in out of my car. They let me do that and I walked into the room and it was spotless. As they said, they refresh the rooms so it appears that the bathrooms were redone and I just felt overall that it was gonna be a good inexperience for 11,000 points or $94 for a 15 minute drive to St. Louis. I did talk to the front desk about the plethora of bad reviews in the past and even recently. And all the gentlemen could do tactfully was say that there is now a new management team at the hotel, and they are working diligently to gain the trust of the Marriott Bon Voy travelers . What I would suggest and what I would do exactly is I would leave everything in the car and check into the hotel, walk up with your set of keys and inspect room and if the room doesn't meet your expectations calmly walk downstairs and ask for another room. The price , you can't beat the price.

I would have given a 1 the first time but now a 3 seems fitting. Renovation was good but the rooms are a tad small. Friendly front desk staff. Given how everything is now I would stay here the next time I'm in town.

There was a damp feel to the room I was in and it had slight odor to the room as well. Not a musty smell exactly but it was something I couldn't exactly identify. The staff seemed mostly friendly and polite, I asked for some extra towels and the front desk clerk was happy to assist my request. The parking area was well lit and adequate. The location was good for many dining selections. My biggest complaint was there was not any complimentary breakfast provided, they had a dining area that had a breakfast buffet but it was $12 per person and the selection was mediocre.

When I brought my concerns to the attention of the general manager, Crystal, she assured me she would look into them. However, despite multiple emails and phone calls over the past three months, I have had to repeatedly follow up just to receive a response. Most recently, I emailed her more than two weeks ago and have still not received any reply. I also reached out to Capitol Sports, who said they would investigate the situation, but I have not received any follow-up from them either. The lack of communication and customer service has been extremely disappointing. Based on this experience, I would not stay at this hotel again. If your sports team is assigned to this property through a tournament housing program, I would recommend booking directly with another hotel if possible.
