Seems nicer than other in the area, but not worth the price. Loved the location and staff seemed super nice at check in. Bed was super comfy and big. Pool area was closed all weekend, even though when booking it said was open and that was a big reason we booked this hotel. There looked like mold on the shower head and on the tub. There was used plastic spoon, fork, and knife in a side table. The vent above the toilet was very dusty, not sure if cleaned. There was a chip in the side table. And the WiFi was where you have to go to a separate page to log in on your phone and you are unable to use any systems you bring in the WiFi. Tried to ask to pay for a soda and front desk said it was for higher members. Tried to use the vending machine instead and it was out of order. The shower bar for the curtain was off a little. Check out was at 12 and they called around 11 and 11:45 to remind you it was at 12. Do not disturb was on door at check out and around 11:30 we had a knock on the door from housekeeping. Felt a big pushy to leave before check out time. Breakfast was not mine or my husbands favorite. We ended up not eating much and going somewhere else to eat. They didn't refill the milk the first day when we came down and the second day the milk was a little warm. We chose to stay here based on yelp reviews. We were not disappointed. The hotel is fairly new. It's clean and smells clean. The room was nice and everything was in working order. The pool was located outside and was nice. They had an exercise room with equipment located on the ground floor. They served a complimentary breakfast in the breakfast area. The employees and staff were friendly and helpful. They checked on us when we got to our room to see if we needed anything. Considering all things I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are in the area. It's clean, the employees care, and above all we felt safe. read more

It is a fine hotel. The staff friendly. The rooms only get cleaned every other or 2nd day of your stay. I was there 2 nights so my room went untouched. For what I had to pay, they should of cleaned the room and left a gold bar on my pillow. When I said something they did offer more towels. A quarter measure when a full measure was required. All in all it was okay. The ROI does not exist of you pay more than $79 a night. read more

We stayed at the Hampton Inn on a whim considering we were traveling at night and caught a nail in one of our tires. I was very impressed with the staff. Everyone I encountered spoke when walking past them. From the maintenance staff, to housekeepers, front desk and breakfast cook. I was very surprised now says it's hard to get great customer service but this place went above and beyond. The rooms were spacious and clean. Soft beds made for a great night's rest. Pet friendly, but still completely quiet throughout the hotel. I believe they had dog treats to offer not sure. Plenty of parking in the front and back entrance of the hotel. The complementary breakfast was delicious. You can choose to eat downstairs or grab a to-go container and eat in your room. The gym, pool, lobby, and hallways were extremely clean and updated. I chose this Hampton Inn over the competitor hotel Days Inn located on the same road bc their reviews said the card entries didn't work. All of the entry doors at Hampton Inn work and are in close proximity to the front desk staff who were alert to everyone who entered the building. I'd rather spend $20 more a night and feel safe. Nice hotel in small town Thomson. Parking in the front and back. I loved the dining area. The pendant lamps were so pretty. Well decorated area. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. Complimentary shower cap(rarity), neutrogena massage bar soap, lotion, and shampoo/condition kit. Plenty of coffee supplies in the rooms. White bedding and flat screen tv. The bed didn't sleep too good. Probably because we got off the road at 11:30pm. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good. It's your typical interstate hotel. It's exactly what you expect in terms of hotels and rooms off 95 and in a quaint town. The rooms need renovations and updates, but it is what it is. Honestly, you probably aren't spending more than a night or two here so it's fine for that. The people working here, however, make this 2 star hotel a 4 star rating. The staff is incredibly friendly and very accommodating. I left my full makeup bag in the room and didn't notice at all. The hotel staff called me within 30 minutes of us leaving and kept it at the front desk for me to come and get. A lot of places wouldn't do that and I really appreciated not having to replace my entire makeup supply. (Note to self: take samples next trip.) I stayed here three different times (3-4 days each) over the past 5 weeks. First stay was a little rough.... as I was going to bed I noticed ants on my night stand table. I called downstairs and they quickly responded with having someone come with spray and a vacuum to get rid of them. I honestly thought they were gone, but when I went to lay down, there they were marching up the side of the wall and ceiling. My room was quickly changed to a room directly across the hall. Although, it was inconvenient moving at 10 at night, I think it was handled it he best way possible. My other stays were much smoother. Overall a standard Hampton Inn experience. Cumulative Review: Pros: friendly staff, breakfast has a great selection and is not the same everyday, they try to accommodate special requests (such as room placement, placing a microwave in room, etc.), gym was clean and well maintained. Close to the interstate and fast-food restaurants. Cons: Other Hampton Inns have a small selection of snacks, ice cream, drinks, incidentals, etc. for purchase. This one does not and it is nice to be able to grab a snack from inside the hotel instead of having to go out, especially when there is not much to choose from in this town. Rooms are not standard with microwave, so you have to request in advance to ensure you have one in your room. read more

I stayed here for two nights for a wedding I was attending in the area. It was a very beautiful hotel and had great accommodations. The room was very clean and orderly, and when I left for a while the next day the room was cleaned and restocked very well! The breakfast was also sensational! I loved the fruit and the waffle station. I will say that the lobby and hallways were very hot during my visit, and it was a little unpleasant to carry around luggage in that atmosphere. Stayed here for the first time while coming to my parents hometown. The front desk staff was so nice and friendly they accommodate us we early check in. The complimentary breakfast was great including making of your own homemade waffles. Best breakfast by far at a hotel. Our cleaning lady Ms. Trisha was awesome she was always on top of our needs since we traveling with several kids. This is my second time staying at this Hampton Inn. The staff are friendly and polite. You can tell that you are in a Georgia small town. The room rate is great and the quality of the rooms and the ammenities is unmatched. When I travel with my family we generally stay at the Hampton Inn 80% of the time. They are probably the most consistent when it comes to cleaniness an the over all quality of the rooms. They also offer a hot breakfast each morning which is always great. On this trip there was something going on with house keeping. They did not clean our room the first day and came extremely late the other days. This has never happen in all our stays at Hampton. Overall the stay here was good and we truly appreciate the effort that was given by the Thomson Hampton Inn staff to make our stay comfortable. We look forward to our return next year. read more

Absolutely worst management of a hotel I've experienced in 30 years managing travel. Inconsistent and lacking in advertised services, do not care about the comfort of guests, do not empower staff, do not care if they upset guests, lack of consistency, arrogance. Not willing to address issues or discomfort of guests. Policies are king at this hotel. Posted the pool and Jacuzzi would be open until 12M which is why we selected the hotel. After working 2 days in heat, humidity to prepare and tear down an outdoor wedding, all we wanted was an opportunity to sit in the jacuzzi/pool to relax as we did on Friday night. It was posted that they were both open till 12M. Nothing posted or communicated on their website about a 10pm close, had there been, we would never have booked here. When asked, the GM dug his heals in with 15 irritated wedding guests in his lobby to do what's right and be customer centric, touting policy he didn't enforce consistently. Couldn't make an exception to ensure the "comfort of his guest". Claiming Covid was the reason, yet the pool was open most of the day...and notices posted all over of the hotel lack of liability related to Covid. Guess he was afraid that Chlorine and water had a higher risk of causing Covid versus the 50p eating late night food the filthy lobby/breakfast area. We were all adults in our 50's. Wouldn't even offer a rebate or discount for lack of services. Clearly doesn't care about Hilton members or wedding guests that brought over 20 rooms to the hotel. read more

I travel a lot for work and stay at a variety of Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Suites, Hampton Inn, Best Western (etc.) hotels across Georgia. This is easily the best hotel I have stayed in at this price range. The rate is extremely reasonable. The hotel is new, the beds are extremely comfortable, and the staff is really great. They will bring you a mini-fridge upon request - and the mini fridge doesn't freeze all your food! Also, their workout room is top-notch, with new Precor treadmills - not the rickety off-brand ones hotels usually have. I would happily stay here again. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE AS A FEMALE EXPERIENCED TRAVELER AND HILTON HONORS MEMBER - I've traveled for over 25 years and this is my first review of a hotel. All hotels in nearby Augusta were sold out and so I was thrilled to secure a reservation in neighboring Thomson.The lady who took my reservation on the phone could not have been more friendly. She warmly welcomed me when I checked in. I was thrilled to find a new hotel (less than 2 years old) at the last minute. Off I went to my meeting and returned to the hotel around 10 at night. After driving around the parking lot and seeing no available parking spot I parked out front. There was a truck also parked near where I was and my first thought was that it was a great spot for overflow or oversized cars for parking and because the entrance was very large that it would be perfectly fine to park there.I also saw a car come from the back of the building and they parked behind my car so I thought the back lot must be full also - every hotel in Augusta was full so I thought the same for this hotel. I walked into the lobby and noone was behind the desk but someone soon came out and this is where the story takes a turn for the worse. A person who at this writing will remain unnamed (but I will be sharing his name with the manager and corporate tomorrow) came out and asked what I needed. I said that I wanted to check to see if it was ok to park out front because there was no parking out front and that I thought the back lot was full and that I didn't feel safe parking in the back anyway. He said no it was not ok to park out front and that the parking lot was illuminated and that was "the best he could do for me." I said "let me be clear - I feel unsafe to park in the back and your response is "it's illuminated and the best you can do." He said "yes" and I said "so you can guarantee my safety?" He said "in life there are no guarantees so no I can't guarantee you will be safe." He said more but I can't remember it all - something about "life being a crap shoot." What the heck?! He never offered to watch me walk from my car to the door or apologize for the lack of parking in the front. He was completely hostile, confrontational and not the least concerned for my safety or making me have a positive guest experinence. The worst thing of all though is there were three men in the lobby who all witnessed this exchange and not a single one stepped up to reprimand the employee or to offer their assistance making sure I felt safe.So....try to stay in Augusta and if that's not an option - find another hotel besides this one. read more

Was extremely frustrated after traveling 8 hours on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, with reservation number in hand, and at 9:30 pm, I was turned away! An associated named Jonathan said that he could see that I had a reservation and number, but that he was sorry, the computer showed that all rooms were booked, and although my name was on the list "it didn't have a check mark." Really? Why was I not called? Why was I allowed a reservation if there were no rooms? Did they give my room to somone else? Jonathon suggested I drive down the street to a motel called the White Column Inn! He did nothing to help me and seemed to have no sympathy. I left and drove across the street to the Comfort Inn and Suites, where I was greeted with a friendly smile, but a similar story about all rooms being booked. The associate there, named Brittany, along with the manager, Cherly, made some calls to clients who had yet to arrive, and found one who did not need one of their rooms, which they allowed me to book. (Why could Jonathan at Hampton Inn not done this?) I was so grateful, I would have slept anywhere. As i was desperate, I didn't have high expectations, but I found the room to be tidy, clean, and very much accommodating to my needs. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast offerings were excellent! The room actually ended up being $135 less than what I had booked at Hampton Inn! Do not recommend Hampton Inn, Thomson, as I was VERY disappointed by their customer service. read more
