Avoid the Hampton Inn White Plains/Tarrytown at all costs. This property is in a state of severe physical deterioration and represents an active health and safety liability for any guest. For three consecutive days of our stay, we repeatedly warned the front desk that our room's toilet was malfunctioning. Our warnings were completely ignored. On our departure morning, right as we were trying to leave for an early flight, the system completely failed. Wastewater backed up and flooded the entire bathroom floor, leaking heavily onto the bedroom carpet. It was an absolute biohazard. When confronted, the front desk team explicitly admitted to their negligence in writing, texting me: "We understand your frustration, especially after reporting the issue multiple times and not seeing it resolved." Beyond the plumbing disaster, the staff is deceptive--texting us that the room was fully serviced when they actually left us completely without basic amenities like toilet paper. The property itself is filthy and falling apart. The elevators were caked in dirt, entry steps were littered with trash, and the outdoor concrete structural staircases are severely cracked, rusted out, and actively crumbling down, lazily blocked off with basic hazard tape. This stay was an absolute nightmare and a blatant violation of basic public health and hospitality standards. I am actively disputing the full $585.00 transaction through my credit card company for gross merchant negligence. Do not risk your health or safety staying here.

What a horrendous experience. 1. No housekeeping for four days (as of 1:30pm on the 4th day) 2. Commercial dryer in the hallway for the entirety of my stay, but not being used 3. Plunger stored next to third floor ice machine 4. The only microwave on the floor on the opposite side of the same ice maker with wet towels on the floor and plugged into the same breaker 5. Ran out of coffee packets for the rooms. (Only had decaf) 6. Peloton cycle in the fitness center had a very loose seat, handle bars, stripped adjustment lever for the seat, and no internet connection to access classes (I have my own account) 6. No lights whatsoever under the lobby canopy, creating a safety hazard after dark. I brought all these concerns, except for the peloton to the attention of the front desk, staff, and absolutely nothing was done. also, I'm not a prude, but if I am not allowed to smoke in my room, then they should not allow someone to light up a joint in their room... The smell was clearly evident from the hallway.

unacceptable experience during my stay on May 30, 2026, at the Hampton Inn White Plains/Tarrytown located at 200 W Main St, Elmsford, NY 10523. I am frankly mortified that this property operates under the Hampton Inn and Hilton name. What I encountered was not consistent with any reasonable hotel standard, let alone the "100% Hampton Guarantee." The conditions were so poor that the stay felt both distressing and uninhabitable. The room itself was in deplorable condition. The carpets were heavily stained, the electrical outlets were unreliable, and the television did not function at all. The bedding appeared visibly dirty, raising immediate concerns about sanitation. The bathroom was worse, with black buildup around the tub drain and visible mold forming near the faucet. Basic necessities were neglected--there was not even sufficient toilet paper provided. The issues extended beyond the room. The shared ice machine area was infested with moths and other insects, and a microwave had been haphazardly placed on a chair nearby, creating an unsanitary and unsafe environment. The view from the room overlooked what appeared to be a roof that has not been maintained or cleaned in years, further reflecting the overall neglect of this property. What is equally unacceptable is the complete lack of support from staff. After 5:00 PM, there was no maintenance available, no possibility of changing rooms due to the hotel being "fully booked," no offer to relocate me to a nearby Hilton property, and no supervisor available to address the situation. I was left without any meaningful assistance despite the severity of the conditions. This experience was not only disappointing--it was genuinely distressing. I felt uncomfortable remaining in the room and deeply frustrated that a brand I trusted would allow such a property to operate at this level. Given the rate charged, this experience felt exploitative and entirely unjustified.

We needed a little more room ; so we opted to stay in the Hampton Inn which is 5 minutes from my home ... this saved on our sanity. It is about 150-200 per night . You can join there rewards and accumulate points and bank free rooms with different tiers of perks .the king bed was comfortable; which was the important part the shower was stocked and the massage shower head was perfect . My other half and I took our time in. Morning enjoying our peace watched tv ; took part in the complimentary breakfast served with coffee tea juices ... eggs were decent sausage might have been jones stage had pancakes muffins waffles ; a pretty good spread with some fragrant fruit and yogurt and cereal...decent .We will be back we enjoy the break and staff is really cool .

I have been staying here a few times over the past 5 years. Many issues which have not been addressed and they are setting themselves up for a lawsuit when someone falls down stairs that are crumbling on the edges. The steps are outside from the upper level of the parking area. They have no light on the sign at the bottom entrance. Our room had a patched hole in the ceiling which could have hit me in the face had my wife not stood on the bed to press it and have a large piece fall in to her hands. The front desk was nice and agreed we deserved some type of compensation, points or no charge for room, but have not gotten that far yet. Totally besides the point as the bathroom area needs updating and the overall property is dated and not very clean in some areas.

The hotel was a quite rundown and seems like it's built for a long time already. The window was 1 layer glass which was not weatherproof at all. The room was spacious but bathroom was a bit small. The service was amazing though, which makes up the hotel being so old. The reception is very helpful and they have free breakfast. Only 1 restaurant nearby and 1 convenience store.

Dirty room. smelled of must/mold? (found some on bathroom ceiling) - random splatter of who knows what on the walls, picture frame. window sill had dirt and dead bugs, carpet was stained, chair was stained. only spent one night thank goodness or I would have demanded another room. window opened to roof access with 0 safety features and it was obvious people had gone on the roof to drink or have coffee or whatever because there was garbage all over the roof. also, PLEASE put a safety feature in the rooms overlooking the roof because anyone, including kids, could open that window and literally go onto the roof and god forbid fall. hotel advertises a pool- the pool had a cover half on and seemed like it hadn't been used in years. breakfast was ok- the person working (7/28 in the AM) was very sweet and accommodating. only plus is that it was dog friendly so we could bring one of the dogs. would not ever go back or recommend, ever.

The bathroom wall and ceiling had some issues.

This hotel is a DUMP! You'd be better at a YMCA than here. If you want a run-down hotel for over $300/night than this is your place.

She openly stated, "I can already tell you're going to be a big problem. I don't want you in my hotel," and then proceeded to cancel our reservation while raising her voice at me. The situation escalated to a point where I felt genuinely unsafe. I felt compelled to report this to corporate due to how serious the matter was, and I also left a Google review documenting her unprofessional behavior. I have never encountered such disrespectful treatment in the hospitality industry before. Another couple who was behind us actually cancelled their reservation after seeing how we were treated, this was around 4-5PM on Saturday April 2nd
