My favorite thing about this library is the computer room. There offer classes and there is always a knowledgeable person to help you with technical issues. 9/24/22: Visit! Village of Greenport is adorable!…read more Took the Shelter Island ferry over to the '22 Maritime Festival. We boarded a replica of the Amistad ship. A narrator gave us some of the ship's history. We walked around the festival. Everyone was in a good mood. Lots of cool kiosks with a variety of goods and "Cheer" were for sale. Purchased some lovely lavender from one of the kiosks. : D We stopped where ironworks were demonstrated and beautiful rustic ironwork crafts were sold. (Please check out my pics). Lots of cute shops, pubs and restaurants in the Village of Greenport! A carousel is in the port too! Definitely would return!

Sail your boat or take a yacht and explore Shelter Island and Sag Harbor nearby on the Peconic Bay. Best wineries and vineyards are here on the East End of New York. All very good. Enjoy!

Nice place to spend a few hours on a rainy day. They have a small collection of DVD's but carefully selected. No Die Hard 1,2,3, etc. Great selection of foreign movies and tv series. Friendly and helpful staff.

One thing to know, I tried to apply for a library card and the librarian took one look at me and assumed I was not eligible for a library card. So here's my public service announcement, you can absolutely get a library card regardless of what the librarian might assume or tell you. A permanent one if you live in Peconic or Southold OR a temporary one if you are just visiting. "Just visiting? I was really excited to see the new library renovation. Although it has been updated to give a…read moremodern and open feel there is quite a bit of wasted space. The adult section has two areas with individual comfortable chairs to sit and read but if you're interested in being able to go and study and spread your books out then this library is not for you, seating for study is extremely limited. There are two very small tables that can accommodate one person which makes it close to impossible to have a lap top out and write at the same time. And if both are taken you are out of luck. Study rooms are just for groups, The original long tables worked great. There are also less computers to use. I'll still be heading to Cutchogue or mattituck to accommodate my needs.

After years of waiting to check this place out my best friend finally dragged me and it was worth…read moreevery minute! This property is small but mighty. Our tour guide was incredible! He was so knowledgeable about Pollock and Krasner's life and the art scene in which they lived during their time. The tour includes a look inside Pollock's studio, which is breathtaking as well as a tour of their home. The property is so tranquil and peaceful as well might I add. If you are an art lover/fan this tour is a must do!
